Tea Under The Digital Cherry Blossoms

I returned to the world of Shadow Warrior 2 today to grind away at my remaining sidequests, and I STILL have a few more to grind through before continuing the main storyline. Most of the bounties I completed tonight were quite repetitive, but they did make me stronger in the money/skills department. I can’t complain too much, since Skyrim’s bounty hunting in other games usually consists of  “find NPC, kill NPC, receive Bacon.” or something along those lines. All in all I did have a good time sipping tea and slaying demons and Yakuza.

Next time I return, there will only be four more bounties for me to collect. Then I can continue with the main plot. I’d like to hopefully finish the game sometime this year, having put it off like so many others.

Crashin’ & Cloudpunkin’

I plopped down on the couch this evening and enjoyed a little bit of Crash Bandicoot, got a couple achievements! Then a bit later I played Cloudpunk at my desk, and continued getting achievements… huzzah. For some reason I was in a Futuristic Dystopian Delivery Girl kind of mood tonight, and I love the dialogue! I met a couple of android gang members who go around performing typical gang member activities… such as building playgrounds for children. Not long after I had to give a Karen and her Android husband a ride along with the package they wanted to send. Oh, and I had a cup of coffee. :v

Evil Weekend Plotting

I’m already mentally planning my weekend. It’ll probably be a mix of leisure and accomplishment… or accomplishing leisure? I can at least promise myself a special breakfast… I’m thinking Chinese. It’ll give me an excuse to make some sauces that I haven’t made in what feels like an eternity and a half. I can make it a day where I migrate between the kitchen and gaming in the living room if I have the place to myself.

I need a little zen over the weekend to make up for a week of donkey dicks.

Evening Open Thread

Too tired to post anything tonight. Work has been physically and mentally taxing, the world kinda sucks right now, and if I had more time and energy I would write a more meaningful post. The only things that are keeping me sane are my friends and family — plus my hobbies… and a new office chair. Yeah, that’s actually a positive.

I’ve been thinking of taking some time off. I had one of those dreams the other night where I thought I was late for work, and usually that means I need to give myself a break. As opposed to working with 3D and games, then proceeding to dream about those instead.

Laughter As Pure As Maple Syrup

I recently found out, and finished watching the new season of Kids In The Hall! Just finished watching the final episode, and it all felt like a continuation from where they left off.. with possibly a little legal THC laced in the mix. It was fun to watch

Now I’m starting up their “Death Comes To Town” series. That one has been awhile, and surprisingly I’ve never heard of it before, kinda surprising no one ever really said anything about this. Love the portrayal of the Grim Reaper… he looks like someone you’d find down south.

Private Spa Day Open Thread

Today I made my last day of freedom a bit of a home spa day. My best friend since childhood sent me a nice care package containing spa items for all of the chill. I tried a lavender bar of soap, and a deep cleaning rose gel mask, and now I know I’ll be able to put my first foot flowered tomorrow…. pshewwwww.

There’s still quite a lot of other stuff to try, like scrubs and a couple other items, but those will have to wait. I have some watermelon scrub to finish up first. There was a giant sale on a bunch of watermelon bath stuff and I made fucking bank on it.

Greetings From The Astral Plane

I think I’m finally getting into spring thanks to the slightly better weather. I had a good rest, made some strawberry oatmeal and did some digital housekeeping. In this case organizing my files, deleting temp files and cache, and getting sucked into Okami. I covered a lot of ground, learned to swim in lava, discovered the Northern Ryoshima coast, and learned to climb up walls with the assistance of cat statues.

I’m still impressed with how large this game is, given this is from the PS2 era. I played a bit longer than I wanted to, but I kept finding new things and I couldn’t stop!.. that and I still had a full glass of wine to drink. :v

It’s Saturday… I’m Crashin’

I was feeling like a bit of platforming tonight, and decided to tackle the Dark Souls of platformers as some of my co-workers call it. I never played the original PS1 release of the first Crash (my first Crash game was the second), and while I’ve died a metric shit ton of times I can at least say I made it further than one of my co-workers (he couldn’t get past level 1). The first Crash Bandicoot game is basically an elaborate version of Simon Says that becomes more and more sadistic as you progress. It’s definitely a game that I have to take breaks from, just so I can have the patience to move forward a few levels.

Executive Decisions, Decisions

I had to revise the script on the project. There was a particular model that I wanted to use, and I didn’t know that it didn’t have any form of rigging. Since the scene involved a model with moving limbs, and these weren’t present I’ve had to move to Plan B. This might set back a few weeks, but whatever. I’ve put enough time into it for the week though. Tomorrow night I plan to pick a game from yonder collection.. nothing involving pigs.
