Spooky Serious Sam Sunday!

When it comes to Halloween, you damn well KNOW I’M SERIOUS!

It’s Spooktober! Easily the best time of year IMO – a fine time to indulge in eldritch horror, candy and costume ideas. For the first day of Spooktober, Yutram (aka the one with the almost unreadable name) and I decided to play with some mods for Serious Sam BFE! We wandered the Spooky Land Of Evil Creatures, and yeah… as far as the enemies go it lives up to its name.

This alien enjoys his pumpkin spice a tad bit much methinks.

The Spooky Land of Evil Creatures is a five level custom campaign that is graphically basic in design, but features Halloween clad enemies and a fun challenge! You start off with just melee but gradually find more weaponry and ammo along the way. There’s even a final boss battle!

NYEH!

Overall, I would rate this campaign a 4 out of 5 Pumpkin Spice Chais. It uses a nice selection of music from other games (credited on the workshop page), and the basic graphics can be forgiven for the combat and Halloween decor.

All eyes are upon us.

For the Month of October I will be focusing my precious game time on the spooky parts of my library. Potentially clean the cobwebs off of certain game titles, and maybe even investigate some new ones! There’s plenty of potential for Halloween modding the games that will allow, and spooky single player games as well!

PUBG Ain’t Got Nothin on This

Yutram and I have been trying to find new things to play together. We’ve wrapped up Borderlands 2, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. What else is there to do? Well, we decided to check out Totally Accurate Battle Grounds; a game that totally lives up to its title, like totally. We played as a Squad! It was good for a few laughs.

I AM THE NIGHT

After spending a good part of the evening working on my next disasterpiece – I escaped into the world of Aragami for awhile and advanced the plot juuuuuuuuuuust a little. Got a couple scrolls and a talisman! Enjoying a little bit of tea and mochi before bed. It’s getting time to order some more soon, it’s a nice accompaniment to green tea! Kinda like black tea and cookies.

This was the final frame I left off in for tonight in SFM. I’m almost done animating the first scene! I’ll probably take a break from it tomorrow. No sense in rushing on this one – I already know it’s gonna take awhile. I’m thinking after work tomorrow of advancing the plot in DOOM Eternal, reeeeeaaalllly kick off the weekend. I just need to find one more Celestial Ring and then I can inch closer to finishing the base game and move onto the DLC!

Until then… it’s shut eye but for real, yo.

My Kingdom For a Good Night’s Sleep

My day got shot to hell because I didn’t get any sleep last night. I tried everything to get comfortable, but between eating something that didn’t agree with me and general discomfort I had to go to work on 0 hours of sleep. I did manage to catch a small nap when I got home at least, but I can still feel the jet lag. Hopefully tonight I have better luck, literally everything I tried last night didn’t do me any favors.

I did take a moment to check out a new level that was released for Whisker Squadron Survivor! It was an excellent flight, even won on the first try! Not the game I was planning to play, but it did provide with me the right amount of time to relax and unwind before having to try and do the bed thing again. :v

Here’s hoping for a more successful evening, and food that won’t threaten to commit crimes against my stomach while I sleep in bed. Maybe then I’ll have some energy tomorrow to NOT take a nap and actually do shit.

IT BEGINS!!! (Again)

Back to working on a familiar scene! We’re back in the digital living room, finishing a game that has long sat in our library for many a year. So far I’ve got about 6 seconds of animation going in this clip, with many more to follow! Unfortunately there’s not much more to say on it now, other than I’m off to a good start. I’m going to give myself until late December to finish it, though I should be done with it way before then.

I did make sure to take my one hour of game break before calling it a night, and since I’ve been doing a good job of getting through footage and games I’ve started yet another new adventure! Last winter a good friend of mine from work gave me a copy of High On Life for Christmas, and now I finally got around to playing it! I won’t say much for now, as a game of this caliber is more deserving of its own post, not bad for only an hour’s worth of content!

One Of Many Missions Accomplished

Finally won an entire run without exploding! I’ve been playing Whisker Squadron Survivor on and off today between doing other things. Worked on a couple video thumbnails and prepared some audio for animation, which isn’t a whole lot. The animation for it on the other hand… I’ll probably be taking a brief hiatus from videos starting the third week of October. The next couple of videos I want to work on will require some animation, especially the second one I’m working on. It’ll probably take me a few months…

Sunday Chill Post

Today was a foggy rainy day fit for playing with my new recording setup! It’s looking like the Elgato 4K Camlinks aren’t going to cut it for what I want to do; every time I try to record with OBS it turns the webcam recording into something out of a Max Headroom clip. Meanwhile, plugging into my old HD60 Pro works like a charm, minus the 4K… but at least I have a full 60FPS and no latency.

Everything I’ve been reading points to OBS not being able to work with the Cam Link properly… Might be time for me to upgrade the capture card in my computer, with it being 1080p I don’t have much of a reason to have it around anymore. Not sure if I’ll stick with Elgato, or if I’ll try a different product. As long as the HD60 Pro holds out I’ll have plenty of time to do some research.

Once again Whisker Squadron Survivor was my go to for all testing! I did level up my ship a few times tonight. Also did a Recording session with Yutram. Now I can return to SFM to generate some nightmare fuel after a long break of nothing but game clip videos, just needed a bit of inspiration. 🙂

When Quests Do Themselves

I’ve been adventuring so much in Dust an Elysian Tail that I had all the materials to complete each Fale quest tonight in one visit! It was funny just sitting there, solving each quest with a “Here are those materials you asked for, Fale.” without having to venture off to purchase or loot my way to victory. At this point I have three sidequests and the main story to look forward to, when I get to it. 🙂
