Borderlands 4 is set to come out on the 23rd of September. Like many other AAA titles I wasn’t going to buy it on day one, and thanks to Randy Bitchford opening his mouth my decision has been cemented:
Publisher 2K Games and parent company Take-Two have so-far remained vague on whether they will go to $80, and Randy Pitchford has insisted the decision is out of his control. But, responding to one concerned fan on social media, Pitchford set the cat among the pigeons by saying that if you’re a “real fan, you’ll find a way to make it happen.”
As a “real fan” I’m gonna enjoy other games that I’m also a “real fan” of until it drops low enough in a sale to make it worth buying all the DLC. As it stands $69.99 USD for just a base game has been laughable. BASE GAME! NOT EVEN DLC AT THAT PRICE!!! Also, when you treat your staff like shit like many other AAA companies it’s beyond laughable. Raising it to $89.99 is just diabolical.
While I await the inevitable sale for Borderlands 4 I’ll focus on conquering more of my ever expanding library. There are Yakuza games to finish, Castlevania games to storm through, and endless amounts of incredible indie games to experience. Randy Bitchford can take and roll any of his cringe-worthy shirt collection into a fat one and suck it.
