Thinking With Ancient Portals

We had to take a bit of a detour from our original plan of playing the second episode of Heretic tonight, as the game crashed whenever we loaded E2M2. It was either skip ahead to episode 3, or try Hexen: Beyond Heretic. Of course we chose the latter. I was actually kind of surprised by the option for choosing from three classes, and jumping! They invented jumping! There was also the overall flow of the game. You could travel to and from certain areas via portals, not linear like Hexen or DOOM. It can get a bit disorienting at times, but we had fun for a good couple of hours.
