I spent the evening wrapping gifts to celebrate a friends success in making it another year around the sun. Every time I wrap gifts for this person I keep thinking back to when we were kids. It doesn’t even feel like it was that long ago, but the crick in my neck yells at me otherwise. The weather was particularly autumn, especially tonight while wrapping. As I listened to music while crafting the care package I couldn’t help but think back to when we used to go on local adventures in forests and other wooded areas we may or may not have been allowed to go.
When I was out on a walk the other day I went by my old neighborhood, so much of it has changed. The landscaping has changed considerably, but seeing kids going up and down the street on their bikes and scooters made me nostalgic. I didn’t have a perfect childhood, and there are some things that I would do differently if I could relive it. But the few moments that were enjoyable, they would be worth experiencing again.
