Last night I settled on Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, and immediately remembered why I never finished this one. Out of all the classic Tomb Raider games this one had the most clunk controls. Her rolls are slower, and she feels harder to control compared to the previous 5 games. I get that part of it was in an attempt to make the game seem more realistic, and given this came out on PS2 hardware they were trying to utilize newer features, but the previous games did movement far better. She also has to become stronger through different movements, like breaking doors and other tasks.
At least this time around they included more cut content from the original release. I remember reading this game went through serious pain from all the crunch time they had to do (something all the Tomb Raider games have an unfortunate history with). Now it just comes down to me eventually willing myself into playing through it.
Tonight is not one of those nights.
