For those who don’t know. Anita Sarkeesian is an American feminist media critic who focuses on depictions of women in popular culture. She talks about how women are depicted in movies and games. She also had a kickstarter project for a Tropes Vs Women video serieswhich you can read about here. She received some flack for this (even beforehand) and has been labeled such things as “slut” “whore” amongst other things by guys who are offended by someone who wishes to point out the obvious about how women are portrayed in games. One of these “men” by the name of Bendilin Spurr of Ontario Canada, decided on a “spurr” of the moment to make a game where you can hit her. I’m not sure what’s more stupid, Bendilin Spurr of Ontario Canada actually doing this or the latest comments on his steam profile from friends telling Bendilin Spurr of Ontario Canada to fight the good fight, and that Bendilin Spurr of Ontario Canada is a hero for doing this. Nothing says you’re a hero like making a flash based game where you hit a woman. Classy.
It’s a shame that Anita can’t be more like Bendilin Spurr of Ontario Canada, he’s a real winner! Especially with his erotic Sonic The Hedgehog drawings and his epicly awesome YouTube account.
