Guilty Pleasures: Scambaiting

A friend from work introduced me to the world of scambaiting, where people will deliberately waste a scammer’s time in one form or another. There’s just something entertaining about having someone connect unknowingly to a VM for god tier trolling.

I’ve already been well aware of all kinds of scams that are going around these days, but a lot of these kinds of videos do a good job of not just trolling the scammers, but provide in depth analysis of how these scammer groups operate. I praise these people for their art, education and dedication to both keeping people informed and saving potential victims by wasting their time.

I actually wouldn’t mind doing something like this; in fact I’ve done it a couple of times at work when they call up pretending to work for TehGoogle. THey must have been busy, they didn’t seem a tad interested in the fact that I lived in the State of Germany and consolidated three stores into one building. I’m not one to usually boast, but I’d say that’s pretty durn impressive.

One Week Of Work = Two Days Of Play

I spent a good chunk of the weekend enjoying the new TV! I’ve had the place to myself in the mornings, and I’ve been enjoying the thrill of big TV gaming! Today I brought Carmageddon Max Damage and Yakuza: Like A Dragon to the big screen, and yesterday I played a little bit of Shantae: Half Genie Hero and DMC5; there is just something awesome about seeing a modded game on a big screen.

Making myself out to be a couch potato wasn’t in my weekend planning, but I wasn’t exactly feeling my best either; even sitting at my desk made me feel uncomfortable. I just so happen to feel better enough to return to work now… what are the odds? Oh well, at least it’ll provide some fun war stories for when I go back to work. I’ve been exchanging my fun in the Yakuza games with a couple co-workers.

If I have time tomorrow I might start extracting audio for one of my other projects. Now that I have that one video out of the way I can focus my creativity on something else.

Fallout TV? What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Bethesda is partnering up with Amazon to make a TV series based on Fallout:

The Fallout franchise has been home to some of the best storytelling in gaming. The post-nuclear apocalypse series has seen a number of iterations, and is set to receive another soon. It’s been announced that a Fallout TV series is in the works for Amazon Prime Video. The show is being produced by the creators of Westworld.

My only question is if this will be based on the games, or if this will be another reality TV type thing after a nuclear attack?

You know, I do have prime… the question is can I be arsed to watch enough of it to do a write up?

“I’m sending regional manager Darth Maul”

If you haven’t seen these videos yet I highly recommend doing so. This is by far the best telling of the Star Wars saga ever done, and should be considered official canon.

I look forward to their own spin on the newer Disney films should they decide to include those in this amazing story. There are six episodes in total so far, all of them glorious.
