The Mind Of OverlordTomala

Light At The End Of The Sanctuary

I made up for last weekend in spades. I had a small breakfast sandwich, cleaned up my digs a bit, patched up a shirt, and last but not least I put some scented fucking candles on and played a bit of AER: Memories Of Old. It took me awhile to remember what I was doing, but I did eventually find Eventide Sanctuary — and even got an achievement! There really isn’t very much to this game, but at the same time it has a lot going on. Lots of land to traverse on foot and as the crow flies, and there’s quite a bit of story to read and piece together throughout your travels. This will most likely get a recommendation from me once I finish the game, when I’m able to pick it up again. 😛

Compared to last week this was the perfect day.

I Can Game Again Yaaaaaaaaay

Just Another Day At Work…

Took some of my aggression out in DOOM Eternal tonight. It seemed like a good way to enjoy myself, even if I was getting my ass handed to me about every five minutes. I’m playing on Hurt Me Plenty mode, and it’s actually hard compared to DOOM 2016. But I am making it through different sections, slowly but surely. The last time I played Eternal it was back in November; I wonder how long before I play it again? 😛 It’s time to move onto a different game. I’m not sure which one yet, but I have a few ideas. That’s the nice thing about having a big library, you’ll never go bored. 😛

Let The Weekend Cometh

I’m hoping this upcoming weekend will go better for me. There was so much I wanted to get done last weekend that I was in too much pain to do. I’m beta testing a friend’s novel, and I haven’t had time to get back to them on it. I still need to go through my closet to tidy, and clear some older stuff out, among all the other things to ensure that I’ll never be bored — picking the starting point is always the hardest.

Of course… it might also be a rainy pajama weekend too. After two weeks of hell work, plus a week of regular hell work, and my back being a living hell it is possible that I might not move very quickly once I finally settle down. I could probably make some withdrawals from the bank of sleep.

Aaaaaaannnnddd Done

I’m officially free from Jury Duty! I only had to go once, and it was for about an hour before we were all excused. Now I won’t have to worry about doing it again for who knows how long. 😛 I’ve been summoned and excused a few times before, but this was my first time serving. The funniest part was that it all didn’t happen because Karen couldn’t be bothered to fucking show up. The judge and attorneys for both sides were piiiiissssssseeeeeedddddd.

Oh well… at least I can say that I went to court stoned, and I wasn’t even the one on trial! 😛

IT LIVES

I had to exile myself from my desk, in fact I didn’t really do anything. My back was bad enough that I basically spent the entire weekend in bed getting really shitty sleep. I did get up once in awhile to stretch, eat, do the few chores I needed to do, and they reeeaalllly felt like chores. I’m feeling better today, although I still feel like I’m getting jabbed in the back. I’m just happy that I can put pants on in under 20 minutes again. There was a lot of heat, massage and painkillers and other shit involved to make give me some functionality.

I haven’t felt well enough to work on anything these last few days – although I made up for it tonight by posing/animating another scene. So far, it’s much smaller of a production, but it will have enough acid trip at the end for those who torture themselves with full gameplay for a good few minutes. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to share, but if you’ve seem any of my previous publications you’ll know beyond the shadow of a doubt that it’s probably going to be really fucked up.

During my downtime – I’ve been watching Monty Python’s Flying Circus (including the German version, yes… there is a German version). I’ve always liked the shows, but what always stood out to me was the animation.

I’ve always admired the imagination behind all of these shorts, and the show overall.

Forced Relaxation

My back has been continuing to give me hell – this time in my lumbar area. I tweaked it a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been slowly trying to take care of it… but between work making that difficult, and sitting on a hard wooden bench for fucking jury duty I basically spent today mostly in bed, only getting out to eat or do a couple of chores. There was so much I wanted to do now that I’m back on a more normal schedule. Instead I laid in bed with plenty of heat, massage, and online chair shopping.

Last year when my back was giving me issues I found out the problem mainly resided in my old furniture — mainly the office chair and mattress. Well, the mattress has held up one year later, but my gaming chair has lost it’s padding. I’ve already got a couple of candidates I’m looking at. With the amount of time I spend at my computer doing animation, server work, website maintenance, and gaming (of course) I need a chair that can take a beating, and not make me feel like I’ve been thrown through a couple of mountains.

Vampires and Weed Candles

I have one more night shift this eve, and then an entire weekend to kick my vampirism… huzzah! I don’t mind the hours, and working quietly in the middle of the night is nice, but the job itself is a bit disorienting. The person I worked with is an absolute peach though, she was very nice to work with! Turns out she’s a bit of a gamer herself! Though she resides in the realm of XBox. I recommended The Stanley Parable to her, and another girl that was working near us that day. It made for some good office vibes.

Got my melon shopping bags ready for an after work excursion. Some big sales tomorrow on a few things I’ve been waiting to get, nothing too fancy. There were some CBD candles I was looking at, and I already demolished the one I received over my birthday (it was a nice additional sleep aid for this vampire, my best bud knows me well). I don’t have much else planned for my weekend. It’s Mother’s Day, and I’m not sure what my Mom wants to do. She’s been taking a bit of vacation away from work (desperately needed) and she’s been pretty much in a veg and knit/crochet mood. She’s made me quite a few things (some of which I’d like to blog about when I find some time to snap decent pictures) between my birthday and now.

Apart from Mother’s Day I’m not sure what else I’ll be doing. I might finally clean out my closet if my back will allow me. I’ll probably play something in my ever expanding library of games, also too.

Oh Look! It’s Another Open Thread…

Once again my sleep schedule is taking a bit of a beating. I woke up tonight and found out that I have jury duty in the morning; had to call in to work to let them know I wouldn’t be coming in tonight. I shouldn’t really complain much, with this being my first time summoned. I just hope I don’t get chosen to stay. Other than that I’ve been doing my usual routine; Tidied up the kitchen, took a shower, hailed the glow cloud. Now I’m brewing some tea and putting some candles on to get in the mood for a small nap in a bit.

I’ve already laid out my clothes for convenience, as is Overlord tradition. That said; I’ve been meaning to do a spring cleaning of my closet, but haven’t the chance. I think I’m off to a small start though… threw an old shirt away, donated another to the rag pile, and tonight I tried on a shirt I got a couple years ago as a gift, only to find it’s about one size too small. Fortunately I know someone at work to give it to! I’m sure they’ll appreciate it. I’ve been giving things to co-workers as I slowly go through things. A month or so ago I went through some of my hair things and jewelry and donated a small modest bag to a couple of ladies who recently found themselves. 🙂 It doesn’t do me any good to hold onto something I’m not using or unable to use, so it’s always nice to find a good home for these items. I might go through more of my clothed inventory this weekend, it would give me an excuse to upgrade my wardrobe.

At least I know the next time I go to work I’ll maybe be able to brighten someone’s day. 🙂
