Ok… After tonight I promise I’ll blog about something else! I just wanted to share one more image involving melon magic. It also doesn’t help that I’ve been inhaling the sweet aroma of watermelon deep into this fine evening. Between this calming aroma and the wine I can hear the bed calling my name.
Today was melontastic! For lack of a better term.
I made iced tea laced with watermelon, I wore watermelon clothes with watermelon accessories, and my bro even bought me a watermelon drink! Now it’s the end of my evening, and I’m relaxing in watermelon PJ’s and enjoying the aroma of a watermelon candle. There was also a small deal of work on the watermelon magical portion of my video project. I’m not sure if this or the batman scenes are more ridiculous.
It’s been awhile since I’ve had a reason to animate a magic scene. I wrote two different end scripts that involved two different kinds of melon magic and outcomes. It was difficult to pick which one to go with, they were both good, and I would have had no problem animating either one. The only problem I have is having to listen to the sound of my voice when editing or animating; There is cackling going on in this scene though, so that was surprisingly tolerable. It still feels weird having to hear it come out of this model though.
But that’s what I get for setting a config file to read only and going on a drinking binge.
Well, it’s been fun enjoying some me time. Thanks to the rainy weather I spent today in my PJ’s. I did manage to get a healthy amount of animation out of the way. It was nice to animate something a little more… normal? I guess? Compared to the Batman induced nightmares I’ve been producing. Nope… Tonight was all about friendship and magic, but no ponies.
If I’m successful there will never be ponies.
Ah, the weekend. It’s a perfect time to recharge your batteries (if your employer allows you to have two in a row anyway) after a long week. I made a vegetarian curry breakfast out of remnants in the fridge from other things, binged playing Okami on the couch and drank Chai from sunrise to sunset. I pretty much had the place to myself for most of the day. It was nice to have a cool, quiet relaxing day accompanied with an awesome soundtrack!
After today I’ll have enough energy to possibly do something productive tomorrrow… like generate more nightmare fuel. 😛 Fortunately it doesn’t involve Batman this time, at least not for the next few days.
I’ve begun looking into doing a redesign of the website, already downloaded some new templates and have already played with customising them. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for quite awhile now, and I want to make it look good on as many devices as possible. I sometimes check my blog on smaller devices, like my tablet, laptop, etc and want to look into making it look nice on as many platforms as possible. Spring has sprung, and it’s time to give this place a bit of a facelift. I might play with it a bit more tomorrow, but don’t expect any changes overnight.
I don’t have much to offer for April Fools apart from myself. After all I was born in April, and most would think I’m a fool.
Open Thread!
During my work nights I’ve been lighting candles, especially on cold nights. It provides a nice warm ambient light and a scent to delight dreams. As an added bonus: When I wake up in the morning the light is soft enough on the early morning eye.
I’ve been trying to do small things for myself to help ease stress. I made some miso ramen on the stove today while doing some after work tidying, and currently enjoying some hot cocoa before bed while being accompanied by the alluring scent of watermelon. Last night it was successful in ensnaring me in a peaceful watermelon patch filled dream. I just hope that if I dream again tonight, that I don’t accidentally collect a tree this time. You have no idea how much that can affect one’s carryweight.
Tonight’s game of “two heads screaming into a microphone” was a success! I’ll mix it together tomorrow and apply it to the final scene (not represented above). Oh well… I can’t wrap up the video like I had originally planned, but on the bright side this will be my most animated video. When I’m finished there will probably be (slightly) more animation than gameplay.
I still have another video or two I can get out of the gameplay footage alone! I’m wondering how well those will stack up if I’m leading with a video just pouring animated mayhem.
