The Mind Of OverlordTomala

In disbelief.

I’ve been in serious thought for the last 24 hours. I learned last night that I’m required to go to my boss whenever I want a raise. This isn’t something that was documented anywhere, in fact I figured that it would kick in eventually. My mother works at the same place and she never had to request a raise. It just happened. The only time I’ve ever gotten a raise was whenever minimum wage went up. I’ve been pulled aside when my wages were dropped. But not raised…

They have no problem cutting hours, understaffing people, having them do the jobs of multiple people, cutting wages, forcing them to do shit that they don’t want to do. But they can’t even so much as give people a raise when it’s due.

I’ve been contemplating my next move. I’m either going to warn them that I’m looking for another job again, put in my two weeks notice and tell them to piss off, or be deathly quiet about it until I can get a confirmed hire.

Five years of me busting my ass for them and coming in at all hours to cover for people, five years of doing shit that I didn’t even want to do just so they can make ends meet, and in the end there’s nothing to show for it. On the bright side this might motivate me for taking a few college classes. Maybe get into the store that’s closer to home.

Portal 2 goes to space?

From the Portal 2 blog:

Thanks to an anonymous tech at NASA, Wheatley is actually going to actual space. This Friday at 10:06 EST, the Japanese HTV-3 resupply craft to the ISS will launch the above panel into space. Though mankind will surely regret giving Wheatley a celestial perch to plot his next move, we here at Valve are mostly just impressed with NASA’s bold, unprecedented resupply craft numbering scheme. And please note that when we mentioned an “anonymous tech at NASA” we weren’t kidding: NASA in no way officially endorses secretly laser-engraving characters from Portal onto their spacecraft. Believe it or not, they don’t even officially endorse Portal 2, despite the fact that it’s a really excellent game.

I’m at a loss for words on this. It’s truly amazing that someone at NASA managed to pull this off! Hopefully they won’t get sent to android hell for their defiance.

Final Stage in Paris! Drink Up Meh Hearties!

So nice to know you, Tour de France!  Today is the final day of the Tour de Underpants and I will miss it so much! I will be taking a much-deserved blogging break until the Olympics in London begin! Meh hearties are in luck because this lil Ettetram has also been to London, so I have plenty of ‘insightful’ comments to share, such as successfully navigating the Port-a-Loo in WaterLoo Station! Wheeeees!

Since today is the finale of the Tour, we must have Champagne!  The Wine of the Day is Pol Roger Non-Vintage!  Delicious, complex layers of light green apple, vanilla, oak, mature mushroom, and chalk with a hint of bright lime citrus make this an excellent Champagne with most any meal, by itself, or out on a picnic or camping!  Have a fun adventure and bring the Pol Roger and Wiggo too!  Yays!

Stage 20 begins in Rambouillet, winds along the Seine River to finish on the amazing Champs-Elysees.  Will Wiggo win the Tour de France today?  Only time will tell!!!  So party on me hearties with the Drunken Gaming Corner!  Yays!!

They are cruising along through a wooded area with the riders chatting with each other and shaking hands with the peeps in the team cars.  What a great race, everyone!!!!! Nicely done and way to overcome many challenges including nails on the course and many many crashes!!!  See many of you in London Town!

Now Team Sky is posing for a pict as the cruise along a straight away.  Lookin great guys!!!  Wheeees!

Someone is munching on a power bar as they ride along.   nomnomnomnom!

Ooohhh, epic Palace of Versailles, located about 15 miles outside of Paris!

Nice easy ride along the River Seine as peeps pack in on the bridge to watch!  Cool Radio France building!  Now they are in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower as they continue up the Seine River.

Now they are ramping up the speed on the Champs-Elysees!  It’s fun to window shop, where a person can get everything from an excellent meal to some new clothes to new electronics to a new convertible – LOL!  So Party down on the Champs-Elysees!

Now they are going in front of the Louvre and the Ferris Wheel!!!! Wheeees!!!  Ooops!  Someone had a flat tire!

Cool Place de la Concord building and the Obelisk, a gift from Egypt!  Cool!

Anyone could win at this point.  Oh noes, someone else had a mechanical issue too!

Hello, golden Joan of Arc, watching the Tour as it emerges from a tunnel.  Just three laps to go and it’s still anyone’s race today!

Three riders are in the lead at the moment, with just a couple miles left.  Which one will be able to pull it off?

The bell for the final lap is ringing as the riders really start cranking it up!  Go everyone go!

Ooops, someone crashed right in the last lap!  A few people went down!  Looks like everyone is OK!

The peloton has caught the three leaders and it’s anyone’s race!  Wiggo has taken the lead in the last mile!  Edvald Boessen Hagen took the lead for a bit, then Mark Cavandish started sprinting for all he’s worth and was able to hang on to the lead through the finish, for his fourth victory on the Champs-Elysees!  Great job!!!!

Nibali Vincenzo is Today’s Bulge of the Day winner since he appears to have a large circle around his protruding vagina cup!   LOL!

As much as I love jolly ole England, looking like one is wearing an oversized flag really isn’t that great of a look. It would have been better if her flag/skirt was better fitting.

Thank you for the warm memories of blogging about the 2012 Tour de Underpants here in the Drunken Gaming Corner!  It’s been a totally epic journey through France, including visits to Belgium and Switzerland!  So Party on, Everyone Tram!!!!  Yays!!!!

Time Trial Saturday with the Podium Gals Tram!

Hello yet again, meh hearties!  This is the final Saturday of this year’s Tour, with Stage 19 being an individual time trial from Bonneval to Chartres.

Nice eyebrow wiggle, Bob Roll, while you ‘wear’ the Yellow Jersey – LOL!  I enjoy the RoadID commercials that have aired during the Tour with his riding along the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile and playing the tiny Oscar Meyer Weiner flute – LOL!

A wonderful beverage for a day like today, something to sip on while reflecting on the amazing places the Tour has taken us is the Taylor Fladgate 20 year tawny port!  A thick, concentrated nectar of delicious layers of raisin, pecan, walnut, with a hint of citrus make this perfect for enjoying with company as well!  A bit spendy at about $53 in Washington State, but probably can be found for less on the Internet.

Lois Sanchez has taken the lead on the time trial so far, but the fastest riders are starting last.  The crowd appears to be cheering for Bradley Wiggins today!  “It’s Multiplying, It’s Electrifying!!!!”

Many of the riders here have their full-body slipstream suits on with wind tunnel hats, with super-aerodynamic bikes!  Wheeees!

As much as I love the Tour, the time trials are my least favorite portion of the Tour.  I prefer seeing the cyclists race each other instead of the clock.

There goes Peter Sagan in his bright green jersey!  What a great discovery of this tour as Sanchez keeps his lead for the day so far!

Hello Wiggo and Chris Froome, warming up on your stationary cycles!

Nicely done!  Someone mowed a large bicycle into their field here in an agricultural area!  Wheeees!

Richie Porte managed to get the second best time here!  Great job!

Cadel “Cuddle” Evans (born on Valentine’s Day!) and Tejay Van Garderen are on the course now!  And now Wiggo is starting tram as the crowd goes wild!!!! Will Wiggo be able to win the stage and further secure his victory in Paris?!?!?!  Go Wiggo Go!!!!

Chris Froome is having a nice stage here as he makes his through the scenic French countryside!  LOL!  The TV coverage got an extreme close-up of his butt wiggling as he’s pedaling along!  Wheeeees!

Oh, there’s Cadel as heads towards the second time checkpoint.  Hi Cadel!  Oh noes, Tejay Van Garderen has passed up Cadel Evan even though Tejay started three minutes behind him!  Tejay is on fire on this Tour!

Wiggo is flying along the flat area here!

Oh noes, Haimar Zubeldia slipped on the corner in town and almost landed on the pavement, then he narrowly missed the course barrier!  Glad you were able to hold on and keep yourself upright!  Nice recovery tram!

Tejay is zooming along through Chartres now.  Zoom zoom zooom!  And there goes Vincezo Nibali, pedaling for all he’s worth!  Wheeees!

And there goes Chris Froome as he captures the fastest time so far!!! Nicely done!

And shortly thereafter, Wiggo hauls ass over the line as Wiggo wins the Time Trial and probably the entire Tour!   It’s Wiggo Time as the French police surround him to make sure the crowd stays back!  Awesome Tour, Wiggo!

I liked watching the Podium Gals chat with each other backstage as Tejay Van Garderen was interviewed, and the Podium Gals didn’t realize they were on TV – LOL!  “Private eyes are watchin you!  They see your every move!”  LOL!

Oh now the podium gals are lined up for a picture while the director of Team Sky is interviewed.

There they are handing out the awards to Wiggo!  And the crowd goes wild tram!  He looked relieved for a second as he raised his arms up!

And Peter Sagen wins the Green Jersey once again!  Yays!   And he wins the Bulge of the Day Award with his Outward Pointing Vagina Bulge!  LOL!  That must be some cup he has on – LOL!

Awwws, Thomas Voekler has some Podium Gal lipstick on his cheek while receiving the Polka Dot Jersey.  Awwwws, Tejay is just beaming as he receives the White Jersey for young rider!

Oh mys, the rider that was bleeding on his handlebars will need to get a skin graft on the ends of his fingers after the Tour is over!  Ouchies!!!  Heal up fast tram!

Thank you for continuing to tune in to meh goofy coverage of the Tour de Underpants!  Tomorrow is the final epic stage in Paris as we find if out if Wiggo can win the entire Tour!  Wheeees!!!  Join meh tomorrow for some awesome picts of Paris!  Yays!!!!

Hehe they said boobs

Apparently microsoft had boobs in windows, without having to google for them (or Bing but no one uses that now do they…)

to quote the BBC report..

“Microsoft has swiftly fixed an embarrassing gaffe which saw a chunk of code labelled “big boobs”.

The hexadecimal string 0xB16B00B5 was discovered lurking in code that helps a Microsoft program work with Linux open source software.

The controversial string came to light on a mailing list for developers who oversee the core, or kernel, of Linux.

The string was used every time the Microsoft program ran a virtual version of Linux.”

Dragged By Your Underpants Through Cahors Tram!

Welcome back to the continuing coverage of the Tour de Underpants! It’s been an epic journey as I have dragged you all through France by your underpants and it’s been epic!  Thank you for continuing to tune into meh goofiness tram!

The riders are scheduled to ride from Blagnac to Brive-la-Gaillarde here on Stage 18.

Since the Tour goes right through the town of Cahors, the Wine of the Day is Cahors!  Cahors is mostly Malbec, also known in France as Cot, Cot Noir, or Auxerrois.  Up to 30% of Cohors is Merlot and Tannat.  Cahors wines are full-bodied and tannic, but can be difficult to find in the stores in the States.  Domaine du Theron is great when available!  Nomnomnom!

Today’s coverage beings along the River Lott with a breakaway of 16 riders. Cool roadside display with computers, bicycle parts, etc. around the small town of Frayssinet.

Memorial for de la Resistance!  Long live the Resistance!

The cyclists today realize that they are running out of time to claim victory, so they are giving their all today!  Go Everyone Go!

They are travelling through Pont-de-Rhodes, an epic ancient roadside town.  Yes, I would like to visit the ancient bar right now!  Bongo, please tardis meh over!  Yays!!!! LOL!

One of the riders looks really happy to be Touring!  Yays!  Lookin’ good, buddy!

Oh, that area looks perfect for a picnic like some peeps have!

Wow, that church is unusual, it appears to have a couple of large round planetarium bubbles coming out of the roof.  I wonder if they have considered having a Laser Floyd showing there?

We still have a lead group of 16 riders, ahead by about two and half minutes.

Oh mys, several members of the peloton missed getting on the inside of a median on a curve, putting them behind by the time the curve was cleared, around Payrac.  The riders are flying through this countryside since they know the Tour is coming to a close as they chase glory!

Lol!  The TV played the music for a commercial break, then they continued to broadcast the peloton snaking along.

OK, they have it sorted out now.  Some spectators are up on manlift and waving some flags and have a sign for Voekler.  Looks like fun!!  Wheeees!

The peloton is catching up a bit as the riders really are going for it today!

Some spectators’ feet were hit with a discarded water bottle.   Ooops!

The riders are absolutely flying along on a freeway towards another ancient town, Lanzac.

Oooohs, epic château up on a very tall cliff with amazing views of the valley below!!!  Cool clock tower too!

Awwwws, the goslings are watching the Tour as they swim along!   So cute!

The crowds have increased here towards the top of the Cote de Souillac.  Awesome mega-viaduct here with some shrubs and weeds growing on it now – LOL!

They are really flying along down this straightaway outside of the Cote de Souillac.

Wow, epic château along the river!  I wonder if it’s some sort of bed-and-breakfast or something with so many tables with pristine-white table cloths and pretty chairs?  Oiu, I would like Champagne and lunch!  Merci!  nomnomnomnom!

Awesome brick town with a great Abbey here!

Cote de Lissac-sur-Couze is coming up, a Category 4 hill.  They are speeding along a long straightaway here.  Go Everyone Go!

The gap between the leaders and the peloton is about 45 seconds with 14 miles to go as they haul ass uphill.

Oh noes, someone’s huge black dog wandered out onto the course, sending several riders tumbling onto the pavement.  Then one of the riders that fell gave the dog owner a stern tongue lashing – LOL!  The rider’s arm was bleeding quite a bit so one of the team doctors treated the rider as they were both cruising down the road – LOL!

Awwwss, cute French donkeys with Tour-themed capes, outside of Masdelpeuch!  They even stopped and posed for the helicopter camera!  Yays!

Oh mys, some ladies are riding the entire Tour de France on Cannondale cycles!  Looks totally fun!  I would probably end up taking too many pictures and eating and drinking and talking to people too much to get anywhere – LOL!

Yays!  Someone mowed a message into their lawn!

A huge crowd in Lissac as the riders are going all out and hauling ass up some narrow, steep roads with sharp corners through this beautiful ancient town.  The leaders are just 19 seconds ahead with just six miles to go!

Oh noes, it’s starting to rain!  It could be slick on the roundabouts in the last three and a half miles.  Cool Tour de France diaramia in one traffic circle!

More rain as the cyclists are digging deep as the peloton is catching up with the leaders!  Who will win today?  2.9 miles left as they through Brive!  Everyone for themselves now tram!

Electrified train lines here as the riders pull out all the stops.   They are grimacing uphill!  Wiggo is hauling ass here!  Ohs, it’s Edvald Boasson Hagen!  And Mark Cavandish suddenly pops out from behind a pack of riders and sprints ahead of them all for the win!!!  Amazing!!!  What an exciting day of racing!

Beautiful medieval town here!  Yays!

Mark Cavandish is our Bulge of the Day Winner!  He is up to the viewer’s right today tram!!!!!  Wheeees!!!!

Peter Sagan won the Green Jersey for sprinting.  He’s smiling on the podium so he must be getting the hang of it!

Thomas Voeckler kept the Polka Dot Jersey, and TeeJay Van Garderen won the White Jersey for the Young Rider!  Nicely done!

Join me tomorrow for the individual time trails!  It should be epic!  Wheees!
