Steam has metroized their forums.
Most of you know that I like Steam/Valve quite a bit. Still, I have no problem pointing out something I don’t care for. For awhile now with the new Steam interface it was known that you could start your own group forum discussions for your own groups, and Steam even had their own set of forums that were like the old forums, only accessible via Steam though. Well, with the latest updates Steam has made you can say goodbye to the SPUF you know and love.
For the steam browser this is a good interface, for the regular browser this is counter intuitive. I hope enough people complain about this to bring back the original forums. Unlike other companies, Valve actually listens to people. And if enough people feel the way I feel they may be able to sort something out.

Last night I had a dream where I was surrounded by a bunch of laptops I couldn’t touch. Then some weird old man appeared on the otherside of the glass and thought I was the sky falling.

Best day I’ve had in awhile!
Well, aside from my morning shift (still groggy from that and may pass out after dinnerbreakfast), I bought a new laptop, 2 1TB 7200 RPM drives AND made it into the Steam Linux beta! So I might have to download the latest Ubuntu ISO later on to prepare, either that or wait for my new gaming system to arrive. I’ll post specs about it later when I’m less tired.
On another note I have a couple SFM things in the pipeline. One of them being my latest dream from last night. I think I’ll start on that one first.
Gonna go read up on some stuff now.
Early Morning Open Thread
Haven’t been feeling very great today. The weather hasn’t been helping either, been stuck in this hibernation cycle. So I just kicked back and did something easy. I built a scene for an upcoming vid in SFM, and refined a small script I’ve been working on since yesterday (which combines about 3 dreams that I had recently). Now all I need is the voices so I can animate it!
On another note I’ve been looking at gaming laptops again, although it isn’t a must at this point since my current one still kicks ass. However, it’s nice to have an idea of what you’re going to buy when you finally make your decision.

A good friend of mine from the Slackers forums has a cool daughter attempting to make a super special awesome kickstarter project called “The Beaded Body”
I’m super excited to get going on this sculpture. I’ll use off-loom beadweaving techniques with a needle and thread to weave a complete covering in beads from around the world onto a life-size female form. I see this project as the first in a series of beaded human figures.
Here’s a pic of the miniature model I’m working on to demonstrate the process. The finished model will be a reward!
