Sunday Night Open Thread

Well, today I decided to spend a good chunk of the day rearranging my desks and cleaning up in general. Nothing too heavy but I did manage to clean my bedding. Now I’m relaxing with some incense and drinking jade green tea. Loose leaf brewed in my Japanese teapot for 3 minutes for the best flavor.

Finished working on the next episode for Friday. Had a couple of issues in adobe where it would crash and burn but I managed to survive through it. At one point I had to rerender the entire project using the same exact codec settings because the first time it completely ignored them… Adobe, you can do the same thing twice and get two different results.

Early Morning Open Thread (Episode 2)

I felt really ill after returning home yesterday afternoon. So I did get an afternoon nap in after all. Then when I felt better I made some coconut rice pudding and downed the entire thing and had a good nights sleep. I’m feeling better today so I may end up working on the rest of my script for YCDTOXB.

Early Morning Open Thread

Yesterday I was in a whole other world. I made some rice noodle soup and Bengal spiced chai for my sweet tooth, then 2 pots of flowering green jasmine. Then I spent the rest of my day working on half of the script for my next review. The review might not get done this week either,, this is pretty big and it has to be done right.

As for today I awoke to rain pouring down on the roof. In a way I hope it continues, coming home to nap would seem a lot easier.

Friday Night Open Thread

I hardly got any sleep last night (same problem as usual when having to wake up early) although I don’t think that’ll be much of an issue tonight. I soaked in the tub for awhile after I got off work and knocked back a couple of red beers. You know, because that’ll help me train the new bread bitch guy who is three times my age.

Is it too late to take out another vacation?

Boy when it rains it pours… I worked a full day plus an extra 30 mins of overtime due to a couple sick calls plus the two closers having to leave early due to a family emergency. I would have stayed until closing (they really wanted me to) but I already had agreed to come in on my day off tomorrow to work. Why? Because my boss who is awesome at making work schedules (and by awesome I mean awesomely shitty) didn’t think to schedule anyone to work dairy… So I have no idea how long I’ll be working tomorrow but you won’t be seeing me until sometime Saturday.  I’m back to working bread again meaning more getting up at the crack of fucking dawn. Actually no, I’m working bread and training someone to take the last bread persons place. Yes… The temp has to train people. I’m honored and annoyed at the same time.

It’s too bad I have to work tomorrow morning, because I could have made a lot more tonight with the overtime.

Work

First day back in the hell hole.

Started my day getting called in earlier than expected due to two sick calls. The place was absolutely swarming with elderly zombies as today was geriatric tuesday.  But I managed to survive and come home to a nice warm soup and sandwich and some stress relieving tea. Which felt great to feast upon as outside it was storming pretty badly. It’s calmed down since but I’d say while it was going out there it had to be over 60mph. I was headed into the garage and I almost got knocked sideways.
