There was much fun in 08. I went to Honolulu, got legally sloshed, became the Overlord I never thought I was, and met one of my best minions in person. Wow… I have come a long way, now 09 is here! Let us move forward into another year of proper dictatorship and finding ways of controlling open source.
As a side note, the new face challenge is now over. After some polling is done at the Slackers forum I will get back to you on who wins. In the meantime feel free to see the contributions by my minions:

Next Sunday I will implement “Guest blogger of the week”. Where I randomly give someone (probably a minion) the chance to co blog with me. Since an email address will be required, I will randomly select people who are members of the slackers forum.

Thought I’d let everyone know that as head GM of the GOGu, I have brought on a “sidekick”, no it isn’t Hoikas (yet), it’s BAD. 😛 And this is what he said over at the GOGu:

No no no. I am not “above” the Ovelord. I am more of on her right side. Where I belong. Sure we can try to compare and contrast our powers, but we both know we would be pretty closely matched. I won’t say who would be the ultimate winner in the fight, but lets just say that there would be little left of the Earth after it, and if there is anything we hate more than veloure track suits, it’s the lack of subjects to grovel before us.
So we won’t be sparing off as long as there are plenty of slaves and servants to subjugate.
So anyway, I want to thank the Overlord in her infinite wisdom to join our forces. Together we will rule the world, and any other place we find in space.

Someone made a very good post over at the MOUL forum that I thought I’d share.
To the people who want “Cyan in control”, that’s a bad idea. I mean, then Uru could be taken away again.
To the people who want the guilds in control… do you remember what happened last time they were in control of D’ni? Let me summarize…
EVERYONE DIED.
My lesson today was, there is good IC, and then there is IC that we ignore for our own personal goals such as running the guilds and telling people how to play with their toys.
I find this to be good information, as I am the head honcho of the Guild Of Guilds. Which is why I can sympathize with people like Alahmhat who want to run their own kingdom. Except as leader of the GOGU, I AM entitled to running everyone’s “kingdom”. All these people made their guilds and are getting whatever they want, therefore I see no problem with telling any of the guilds to report to me on all their activity, give me membership clothing to each group, all chatlogs of their own special meetings, you know… So I can print it out when I run out of toilet paper that I keep at my desk (so I can wipe my face after reading the MOUL forum) and all the other guild things that I should know.
I am the overlord of this community (sorry peeps but I called it), so I should be treated like one by ALL social groups. 😛
