She is such an Uber-Karen to fight! I’m going to enjoy it when I finally take her down. So far I die when I make it to the part where she goes Ultimate Moon on my ass. I did manage to get two boss battles in today to lead up to this point, one of those was during lunch today. Who knew I could work well enough under the pressure of only having an hour to kick Serpentine’s ass?
Kickin’ It New/Old School
Was feeling more in an indie retro vibe kind of mood tonight. It didn’t help that I played a bit during my lunch break on the trusty Steam Deck to get a little practice in.
I’ve told a few people at work about this game – that and Whisker Squadron Survivor. There have never been many Star Fox like games, so when I found these it was an instant yes for me. I never got to grow up with Star Fox, only ever got a taste of it when I was over visiting family as a kid what felt like a century ago. At least indies can help bridge that gap. 🙂
Time For Your Fave Soda! (You Know The One)
Played through the DLC I unlocked with a hex editor last night for Control. It unlocks three outfits (one I’ve been wearing in all these shots) and “Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience” that would only be on Playstation otherwise.
The DLC gives you two tapes to listen to. There’s no battle or anything, just a really weird story on each one. Listening to them makes Jesse feel better afterwards.
Tonight I can say that I’ve claimed 25 control points! I was kind of hoping to get another call from Trench before calling it a night, given the news of James McCaffrey’s passing. I was surprised to find that he played Trench! Now that I really listen to his voice I can hear it.
Another one of those voices I grew up remembering. Max Payne was one of the big games of my older childhood. I remember playing it many a night, even on laptops – before gaming laptops were a thing! 😛 So many memories with a mix of intrigue and mental scarring, the dream sequences used to give me nightmares that only seemed to go away when I wrote about them. His voice though, was a big part of that childhood. He will be missed like so much other talent we’ve lost in recent times.
Somewhere Between Luck & Probability
It’s been one of those sleepy, silent Sunday’s. I made up a fiesta breakfast bowl and drank peach tea all day while unwinding with some Control. Earned some achievements and advanced the plot. I’m pretty close to where I was before having to start over, plus I learned a few things along the way thanks to a couple of side quests. More photos can be found on Mastodon.
Went Out For Shots
Another weekend begins, which means another chance at leveling up in Borderlands 3! We played for a few hours, completed a couple side-quests and moved the main story a bit, even made some new friends. With the Winter Sale being just around the corner we should probably consider loading up on some DLC. 😀 Maybe even some new potential adventures to have!
Thy Time Consumed
I don’t think I ever properly finished Thy Flesh Consumed, but in case I didn’t I can now say that I have! It was brutal playing it on Hurt Me Plenty (to be expected) but I managed, maybe someday I’ll be brave enough to attempt Nightmare Mode. I’d be more likely to tackle DOOM II sooner though. Until then, there are always other plans. 😛

Haven’t been feeling too good today. I was going to get into some animating tonight, but I wasn’t feeling well enough to focus. So I made it a retro evening and played half of DOOM’s Thy Flesh Consumed, unwound a bit with some tea and now contemplating sleep.

The Tablet Lives Again!
Fully up and running on Manjaro 23! Everything is sync’d back up and ready for tomorrow! I did feel kind of naked only taking my Steam Deck to work today. The internet usually sucks at work so I wouldn’t have gotten a lot of reading done anyway. I did get a tiny bit of Whisker Squadron Survivor in during lunch at least. Maybe tomorrow I can resume a bit of animation. 😀
I just need to tweak a few things on my tablet, then I can set it into sleep mode along with myself.
When Life Fucks Your Tablet, Unfuck It
My plans ended up taking a bit of a detour today due to a giant fuck-up on my tablet, which did give me an excuse to put Windows on it to run overdue firmware updates. I just finished installing and updating it to the latest Manjaro! I’ll continue working on it tomorrow after I get off work. I’ll need to install the Surface Kernel, and get it tweaked the rest of the way. I have a perfect canvas awaiting me when I get my free time. Until then I’ll have to rough it on my Steam Deck.
I can’t complain too much, it’s been running for two years without a single reinstall. I’ve been meaning to upgrade it to the latest firmware and Manjaro for awhile now, this was just a real roundabout way to get me off my fat ass to perform an exorcism.
On The Brave Path Again
I’ve been playing a lot of old school DOOM or an assortment of indie games recently, time to take a break to play something a little more modern. 😀 I completed a couple of side quests and made it to level 10! It’s been cold today, so this was a great way to warm the place and entertain myself a bit.
