I never played any of American McGee’s Alice games, and that changed this evening! I never bothered making an EA/Origin account, and didn’t feel like doing so. But several years later when EA returned to Steam and a few sales later I ended up getting it, but never got around to playing it until now. It released in 2011 but the graphics hold up really well!
ALL ABOARD!!!!
I also installed it onto my Steam Deck! Unfortunately it doesn’t offer cloud saves, which means unless I manually update my saves in between my systems I’ll have to play two separate saves. Other than that it runs really well on a hand held, controls and all.
It’s been awhile since I’ve made a food related post, hasn’t it? Every weekend I do myself a solid and make myself a fine breakfast/brunch since I don’t really do breakfast during the work week. We’re in autumn now, which means cooler weather and an opportunity to make use of the oven! The nice thing about egg bakes is being able to mix your fave ingredients/ pouring them into a bowl and letting the oven do it’s job! I was originally going to make an Italian Broccoli Oven Fritatta, but forgot a couple ingredients. Fortunately I have plenty of other ingredients to not only improvise, but make my own tasty abomination! You can adjust the ingredients to your liking, but this is what went into mine:
5 Eggs
Cooking Oil
1 Packet of frozen broccoli (chopped)
1 Cup of cooked rice
1/2 Cup of toasted onion
2 Small garlic cloves, or 1 big ass garlic clove finely chopped
1 Cup of grated cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp of grated parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp of parsley
1 Tsp of basil
1/2 cup of milk
Salt and Pepper to taste
Beat eggs until well combined. Mix in herbs, cheeses and milk. Set aside.
In a medium sized frying pan place enough oil in the pan to lightly coat the entire surface and set over medium heat. Cook the onion until translucent, unless you want them to be caramelized – remember to stir frequently! Add broccoli. Stir frequently and cook until tender, then add garlic and fry for about 30 to 45 seconds. Mix into egg mixture until well combined. Grease a baking dish with butter, or cooking spray and then pour the egg mixture into the dish. Bake at 350F (176C) for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for five minutes. Serve with a salad or some toast.
The 30 seconds of video I commented about in yesterday’s post magically turned into a bout 30 minutes! There should be a few videos I can make from that, one of them being a special kill compilation of my magical blade in action! I had fun revisiting this recording, it was one of my all time favorite streams! So much happened in five hours, and at least a fraction of it might be worth looking at! It took me pretty much the entire evening to sift through it, enough that I’ll revisit it on another day. I think I’ll take a break from making goofy shit to focus on other goofy shit – have to keep it versatile or things go stale.
Finally have all my puzzle pieces in order for when I put the video together! That can be done another night though, the rest of tonight is chill time. I’m thinking tomorrow of delving into some Skyrim footage, see if I can turn five hours worth of footage into 30 seconds of nonsense.
I’ll be taking a break from video releases for the rest of the month to focus on my other projects. There will be a couple videos releasing next month, though they’ll be gameplay shorts. I spent part of the evening animating something a little less peaceful than the image above.
The Karen Makyr
I did make a little progress in DOOM Eternal tonight; defeated the Kahn Makyr (not to be confused with the Karen Makyr) and now I’m making my way to the Icon of Sin. It was a nice, therapeutic run.
I somehow managed to get past Chapter 11 during lunch… with a couple minutes to spare! Maybe I play better when I’m timed? Either way I got a couple of achievements, and I just finished up another chapter! I have Goffik Flappy Bird Power to work with now!
I’m three levels away from reaching the end! That will have to wait for another night. I’ve been grinding this game out the last few nights… time for something else.
Made some changes to the blog tonight! Replaced the RSS plugin that I was using for fetching my Mastodon posts with a more proper plugin, plus I played with the look of the site. I decided to lighten the colors up a bit since we have a Dark Mode to use as an alternative. 🙂 There are a couple more things I’d like to implement and change, but this will do for now.
I did get through another chapter of BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites, been playing it here and there in my spare time. Stopped on Chapter 9 tonight. This has to be one of the hardest Metroidvanias I’ve ever played hands down. I died so many times trying to get past pools of acid without missing platforms. It makes the Shantae series look like child’s play by comparison.
Got some cobwebs dusted off my eternal gaming backlog tonight, and kept it Spooktober themed in the process! Tonight I tested my mettle at Zombie Parkour in Dying Light. I made it past the first level, did a little city sight seeing and even grabbed a few achievements. The controls took a little getting used to, but it’s basically Dead Island: Parkour Edition (it’s even developed by the same company). It also has co-op and mod support! It’s also a Deck Verified game; I might have to consider adding it to my Steam Deck to get through it faster. I’ve already finished 9 games this year, and only a couple more months before the new one begins. Usually I finish 4, or 5 if I’m lucky.
