TETRIS MULTIPLAYER!!!!!

2023 has proven to be a good year for getting through my ever expanding game library. Thanks to my Steam Deck I’ve been able to consistently pick up on games I’m trying to finish when I can’t be at a more stationary computer. It feels so strange… The future video for it could be fun. 🙂

So when going through the ol’ library tonight I also made sure to include games that have Remote Play enabled, and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 looked like a good thing to try over Remote Play. I played on keyboard and mouse, and Yutram played on Controller. We had a fun time trying all kinds of different modes, and proved we can both survive a little friendly competition… as long as we don’t add the CPU’s, fuck the CPU’s. We did a good job of murdering each other at competitive Tetris.

It worked so well that we might have to make this a thing again soon!

Saturday Night Open Thread

I wanted to do a test stream tonight, but ended up experimenting with OBS instead. They added a new feature that allows you to take audio from individual programs. For Example: If you want to separate your game audio from your VOIP program. Sadly, when combined with the rest of my setup it just kills the video quality! Like, murders it. Oh well, it is in the beta stage still. Hopefully they can improve on it! Until then, Voicemeeter is an excellent workaround for separating audio tracks.

I’ll run some more tests tomorrow… sometime after getting some shut-eye.

A Hard Day’s Night’s Day’s Evening

It’s been a nice, calm evening… which is nice after a long, hectic day. I relaxed by going through some video footage, and found something to finally animate! It’s only in the ideas phase, but it will be a small ending to a Temple of Light video. We finished the game! So we need to end on some kind of note! 😛

Played around in OBS a bit more. I think I’m ready to some livestreaming! The question is time, aaaaaalways fucking time. Maybe with a newer selection of scenes I can encourage myself to get my shit together and think of something to stream. Decisions, decisions…

The All Mother of Open Threads

Finished a small quest tonight in HZD! Collected 4 Boar Skins and a Ring for a quest. Next time I play I’m poised to take down a couple Sawtooths. Most of my evening was spent configuring OBS to do a few things, building a couple a scenes and experimenting with some plugins – nerdy fun! I’ll probably work on a couple more scenes tomorrow – it makes for a good small break from all the video editing I’ve been doing.

Familiar, Yet Different…

Made it to the third universe in Bloo Kid 2! It’s surprisingly challenging in some areas and will need another playthrough to get all the secrets. I also got it running on my Steam Deck, though I had to map it to keyboard controls for anything to play properly. I remember it always being a problem with controllers, though. Other than that it was nice to play on a small screen, another title to make my Steam Deck feel like a large Game Boy.

I made it three levels into Zombieland. I have to admit that the skull flowers are a nice touch to the atmosphere, good mood to end the evening on. I’ve made enough progress that I can take another break from it. 😛

Tales From my RGB Powered Production House

It’s been a productive weekend! Thanks to Shotcut I’ve been getting my video releases in order, lots of gameplay footage to release between now and November! Made a few thumbnails for said videos in Krita, and I’ve even been upping my OBS game for future vids!

Installed a few plugins to try, there was one I even noticed that’s bundled with the current OBS that allows you to capture individual audio streams from different programs. Handy if you want to have your game audio and voice chat audio on separate tracks! Another plugin I found on the OBS Forums makes green screening a hell of a lot easier, and I even downloaded a status bar to mess with. I’ll need to rebuild a few scenes before I consider streaming again, but one of these weekends I’d like to make it happen!

I ran some tests with AMID EVIL last night, they released the new Black Labrynth Campaign. I figured it would be perfect for my testing needs. Didn’t overload the encoder once, and no lag whatsoever on audio or graphics. Thanks to the new audio plugin I now use 5 different audio channels for one game recording, and they consist of:

  • Game Audio
  • Voice Chat Audio
  • Microphone Audio
  • Music Channel (Only for Livestreaming)
  • Downmix (All Channels Mixed Together)

All of it done without the need of third party programs like voicemeeter! That means I can do this under both Windows AND Linux! Now if Creative would fucking support their sound cards under Linux I’d spend 99% of my time there on Desktop!

Another Successful Adventure Completed

Another weekend begins, and another adventure comes to an end. I can add Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light to my finished games list – just have three achievements to find and I’ll be completely done with it! That I’ll have to save for another time. It’s installed on my Steam Deck for future achievement hunting, and the best moments have been caught on film! I already have a video planned to release in a couple weeks from now! Sadly it doesn’t feature any animation, but there are lots of explosions and other fun bugs, plus lots of falling into pits and spikes.

Feeling Bloo

Most of my friends are playing Starfield. Me? I’ve been playing Bloo Kid 2 on a 4K screen because I have priorities! One of the many games I keep meaning to finish, but never seem to get around to it. But unlike previous attempts I finally made it to the 2nd Chapter! I can already tell this will require multiple playthroughs if I want to figure out how to find all the stuff hidden in the levels. I’m only a couple levels away from the next boss fight. Now the question is: When will I pick up on it again? :v

One fair bit of warning: You CAN play this with one hand. So if you’re a youth pastor you should probably stay away from this game.
