Friday Night Open Thread

I didn’t have time to delve into any animation tonight. Instead I sifted through last weekend’s Game Of Life recording, and it has some promising audio that might be worthy of animation. I have to do the second bit of audio sifting, but that will have to wait for another evening. I spent the last hour checking out Deathloop, and so far my only issue with it was a freeze the first time I started the game. Other than that it seems to run ok.

I only made it out of the first level, so far I have no complaints. The graphics look very nice,though optimization could be better. I was kind of hoping it would be like Prey where you could choose between two different characters, but it seems you only get to play Colt in Single Player while Julianna can only be played in Multiplayer… not that it really matters. So far I like Colt’s personality. Will definitely have to loop back around to play this again!

Loaded Portal Reloaded

Knocked some dust off of Portal Reloaded tonight. I’m only a few levels away from finishing it, but tonight I only had time to beat one level and spent the rest of it pondering the next puzzle. I’ve made it to excursion funnels, so I’ll have to science out how to use them across space and time… or at least time with slightly less space.

Lions & Statues & Adventure! Oh My!

The mod selection for Tomb Raider Remastered is already looking pretty good over at the Modders Nexus. Over the weekend I dressed Lara as a Succubus, today I made her extra buff. I also turned her to gold.

I’m kinda bummed that you don’t get an achievement for locking the butler in the freezer, but if you willingly turn yourself into a gold statue you get an achievement. THAT’S NOT FAIR!!!

I’m one lead bar away from escaping Palace Midas. That will have to wait for another night… or a lunch break. It’s time to give Lara a rest, along with myself. Another good night of rest and I should start feeling good again.

Being A Total Diva

Today has been a sleep in kind of day, with an orange cat persuading me to lay in bed with him… that and feeling motion sick for most of the day. I cleared a little over 100GB of video footage and contemplated what to play, something that wouldn’t make me dizzy would be ideal. As I scanned my library of infinite entertainment I settled on being a Diva, or Divas. Luka, Miku, Rin, etc… In one form or another they were all on stage.

If you’ve ever played any of the Yakuza Karaoke games, then that’s basically the entirety of this game… only with Vocaloids in place of Yakuza. I mainly played in Rhythm Mode tonight, with the easier songs (which can sometimes go from easy to HOLY FUCK). Managed to get about five achievements tonight, not a bad start IMO. It was also nice to listen to some of the newer Vocaloid songs, as well as revisit some old ones that brought me back to my early 20’s… I felt old after listening to some of them. 😭 Still… it was a nice trip down memory lane, and I can now say I properly played a Hatsune Miku game!

Lara The Succubus

Spent the evening playing around with mods for the Tomb Raider Remaster. Now she’s cosplaying as Morrigan and purple hair! 😛 I decided to call it a night at The Colosseum level.  Earlier in the day Yutram and I played The Game of Life together for a Couch Co-op session. It was pretty chill, and might even be worthy of a future video!

Saturday In The Shadows

Had a very zen evening tonight. Made a large pot of Japanese Curry and some rice, drank some green tea and played Aragami in the living room while getting intoxicated on the epic aromas wafting from my cauldron. Made it through Chapters 8 and 9, survived a boss battle and earned four achievements!

It took me awhile, but I did nail the captain after about 100 retries. In order to defeat him you need to destroy a light barrier switch that protects the Captain, then you have to backstab him and repeat the procedure two more times. You are then treated to an epic battle cutscene. I went from gritting my teeth to being proud af to just get through the damned boss fight. It was so intense that I almost thought I would beat the game tonight! But alas, three more chapters will have to wait for another time. My eyes feel waaaay too shot for me to continue. Time to finish off the rest of my tea and call it a night.

Apparently in the new Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy if you leave the butler in the freezer for too long he’ll actually ice over! Also there’s a Photo Mode!

Lara’s Breakdancing Skillz

I’ll have to take a more careful look at my surroundings, just to get any good photo opportunities stored away. Definitely puts a new spin on an old game!

That Mummy Is Sus

Made it out of Qualopec’s Tomb with the first part of the Scion before calling it an evening. I’m thinking tomorrow night I’ll pick some form of Metroidvania to pad out what remains of my evening.

Downtown DOOM

As usual I spend the last bits of the evening playing a lil’ game before calling it a night. It’s one of my favorite escapes after enduring another day of stupidity in the workplace. I took out my frustrations on Demons begging for bullets. I’m about halfway through the Downtown area but decided to call it a night, motion sickness was starting to set in. That bobbing back and forth gets to me after awhile.
