Did a little treasure hunting in Okami today on Steam Deck! Always one of my favorites to play during lunch breaks.
Meanwhile… In SFM
Slowly getting through animating my current project. I’m approaching that time of year where I’m uncertain if I’ll finish it before my personal deadline. I have til the end of next month, so I stand a chance of finishing on time. But at the same time the holiday season can also be time consuming. Worst case scenario is that I have a mostly finished project for the end of next year. As it is I already have a bunch of videos releasing next month, so if I miss a New Years video it won’t be too big of a deal with all the holiday themed ones I already have rolling out next month. Some of them even include animation! We’re all doomed. 😛
I Have Achieved Blogception
I’ve added an RSS feed from my Mastodon to my WordPress! If you look to your left on desktop, or scroll to the bottom on mobile – you’ll find my Mastodon feed! I’m starting to get a modest follower base on there! Lots of fellow users of the Deck of Steam, and Linux nerds. So far my overall experience with it has been good, even boosted a celebrity or two. 😉
Dreaming of Dreamfall
It’s been quite awhile since I picked back up on Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. I actually got pretty far tonight! Even got into my first anticlimactic battle!
The story is really starting to get interesting! A friend of mine has mysteriously vanished after sending me on a delivery errand for him. I had to rescue the person I was making the delivery to, and after returning to my friend’s apartment I find it has been left unlocked and included a dead girl absolutely free, followed by getting arrested by the local authorities AKA “The EYE”. My only complaint so far is the inability to do cloud saves in between my desktop and Steam Deck, but the save files are located in the root game folder for easy copying. Small wonders.
This was another one of those games that I would start over and over again after leaving it for long periods of time… maybe installing it on my Steam Deck will help me plink away at this adventure. It doesn’t have official controller support, but it has no problems with a community imported config.
I know this game would be considered a relic in this day and age, but I have to admit that I’m impressed that it can do full 4K at 144 plus. So many older games are limited to 30 and 60 (usually due to engine restraints) and it isn’t everyday that you see something so future-proofed.
Cloudpunks, Bruh
It’s my Friday! I haven’t done much gaming all week, so I decided to relax after a bit of animating and check back in at Cloudpunk HQ. I even got a few trophy achievement things.
I don’t play this game very often, but when I do it’s like I get sucked into it for hours. So many things to find lying around the world, so many androids and people to talk to. This is looking like it will merit a second playthrough, just to see what happens if I make other choices. Plus there’s also DLC I haven’t tackled yet. All in good time!
Still Cracking That Whip
Like with most of the projects I do that involve animation, it’s been a slow and steady pace. I’m not quite at the finish line yet, but in every session I at least get something done! Hopefully I can finish this on time, this time of year is pretty busy for me.
Busy Day Is Busy
Blah blah blah work blah blah blah blah blah blah blah housework blah blah blah blah blah insurance coverage blah blah blah animation.
I sleep nao.
Social Butterflying
I’ve been keeping tabs on Mastodon for the last week, and so far I’ve been enjoying it! They rolled out an update yesterday that allows you to translate a foreign post (or toot! as they call it) with the press of a button! Now I can understand what people around the world are saying, whether it be someone from Japan wanting to chill, or if it’s someone in Mexico questioning if potatoes are more fattening than bread. You do have the option of only allowing certain languages, but I’m fine with all of them active. It’s interesting to see perspectives from around the world, and it shows me there’s a bigger picture.
I’m still planning on building my own instance. It will not be open to the public to join, but those who are allowed will still be seen by the other instances if they so choose. I’ve been seeing instances get temp blocked for having too many asshats join up just to be asshats until the admins get their instances under control.
In the meantime I have been experimenting with a new plugin that will allow me to automatically cross post to Mastodon. I’ve only used it once, it seems to work for now. The only thing it doesn’t post is an image from a blog post, but other than that it’ seems to work right out of the box. I might look more into other plugins once I get my instance up and running, give the devs time to update their plugins.
Evening Open Thread
Another fabulous weekend done and over with. I played more Dust: An Elysian Tail yesterday, and managed to 100% a couple areas! Other than that it’s been a lot of hot tea drinking on these cold autumn daaaaays. Plus spoiling myself with some home spa stuff of the watermelon variety. Got more animation done in SFM! With still an electric fuck ton more to go.
Anyways… On with the Open Thread!
