The Mind Of OverlordTomala

Slackcation Stats

I’ve been laying back a little more than I like, but it wasn’t in my plans to get sick before vacation started… It isn’t COVID or anything deadly (for most people), but I’m contagious and it’s annoying enough that I don’t want anyone else to get what I have. Fortunately I bought plenty of provisions before taking my time off, and I have more than enough to do around the house for entertainment. I chipped away at my New Year’s project, played a little Klonoa, and made a Thumbnail for tomorrow’s YouTube video! Oh, and lots of holiday tea drinking to ward away the cold weathery feeling. It has definitely been curl up with the Steam Deck and hibernate weather.

Neon White: First Impressions

Neon White is an epic casserole of FPS, RPG, and platforming wrapped in an anime shell. You play a man that died and went to heaven… sort of. You’re a Neon; a soul that should be sent to hell, but heaven is under attack by demons and you have to compete with other Neons in order to secure a spot in heaven for the one ass destined to sit next to Jeebus or whatever.

I’ve only completed the first mission and a couple of side quests, but I’ve been having fun with it. I’ve been going through and replaying each level over and over again in missions to try and get as many gifts and extras as possible. So far my experience has lived up to all the hype I’ve been reading about. It’s Deck Verified too!

Bloodstained: Ritual Of Gravitational Pull

My World Turned Upside Down

Any day where I can put time into a game and actually make progress puts a smile on my face, even if I don’t get any trophies. I mastered the gravity inversion technique! Now I can turn my world upside down to get into places I never thought I could go! I’m over 75% of the way to completing it, but I still need to do another playthrough in David Hayter mode! 😛

Thanks to cloud saves I’ve been playing it between my main computer and the Steam Deck quite easily. It’s cool being able to play this on the couch, in bed, on the toilet? Literally anywhere, with only one copy of the game. No having to rebuy it for multiple devices.

Teh Google Has Spoken

YouTube has graciously made the mistake of giving me a tool that will allow me to better communicate with my audience! Or whatever you want to call people that watch my content. Either way I might actually make some use of it. Every time I reload the screen it offers a suggestion on what to post, this in itself could make for an interesting game.

We shall see.

Just a Dream?

I purchased Dream Cycle awhile back during a sale, like many of the other games that I accumulate. 😛 Tonight seemed like a good evening to lose myself in Lovecraftian realms. I like the gameplay and the visuals, but I can tell this is optimized more for NVidia systems rather than AMD. I’m running the graphics on Epic in 4K, and it seems to stay in between the 40 and 60 FPS range. I’d play more, but I’m being called away to my own nightmare inducing visions. Heh, maybe I’ll fall asleep and end up there myself.

Might & Melon

We’re at that time of year where I can feel the cold in my bones. Fortunately my RGB space heater has been keeping me warm! Still putting along with the New Year’s video! It won’t be as insane as the last couple of videos, but it will feature some melon magic. I know I’ll need all the Melon energy I can get to finish this by the end of the year.

Samoween

I checked out a little bit of Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem last night, and decided to check it out for awhile tonight in 4K! As far as the cutscenes go it looks weird loading textures in, which was also a problem under Serious Sam 4. Other than that the gameplay has been pretty decent. I did have to lower the settings a bit on Deck, but it runs fine otherwise!

Despite my wintery surroundings, there is much Halloween to enjoy! All of Mental’s army are decked out in their finest halloween fashionz. Gotta enjoy that Halloween spirit while I can!
