Storming E1M1 thru E1M8 and Sometimes 9

Our plans to play Palworld were thwarted by the latest update, which broke our mods. After some unsuccessful attempts we played DOOM Co-op instead. At some point in the hopefully not too distant future, we’ll check out GZDoom in co-op for extra modding purposes. Until then we can have fun playing the Bethesda version.

More DOOM Sweetness

I’ve been wanting to livestream this, but I don’t think I’ll have time to with the way things have been on Planet Real World. I’m still going to enjoy this mod though, one way or another. This is probably one of my fave wads, the craftsmanship has been stellar. Some of these modern wads make the wads I played back in the 90’s pale by comparison. More images can be found on my Mastodon or Bluesky socials.

Diving Into Dave The Diver

I’m late to the Dave The Diver party, but here I be. I decided to check it out, was in the mood for playing something chill. So far I’ve done a little bit of diving, and also helped prepare a menu, served delicious sushi, and poured green tea. Not my usual genre of games, but having them under one title? Oddly cozy. I only played a wee bit before I got spirited into Palworld for the rest of the evening. I’ll have to add Dave to my Steam Deck, could be fun to play, especially on days where I decide to have sushi for lunch! 😀

Ending As Quickly As It Begun

Ended the weekend by doing some Palling around! It was storming here pretty badly, was expecting to lose power or internet but didn’t. I must have been blessed by the internet gods. Either that or a free pass for losing internet earlier in the week. Now I’ve come to that part of the night where I have to un-isakei myself from my games and distractions to return to that real world thing that I’ve formed a love/hate relationship with.

A Phoenix Rises From The Shadows

It’s been another one of those cozy Sundays where you take the time to enjoy hot beverages, and kick back with a controller and blanket. I settled on playing 9 Years of Shadows. A couple sessions ago I acquired the Fire Armor, and tonight I found a couple upgrades that will help me traverse the castle even easier, and in fine Metroidvania tradition!

It was a tough choice between this and Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. I’m close to finishing HoD, and if I finished it I could add it to the list of finished games post I’m putting together for the end of the year. Of course, if I wait until next year it would be among the first on the new years list!
