Whisker Tango Boxtrot

It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in with Whisker Squadron Survivor, they’ve changed quite a bit since I’ve last flown. They added some more power-ups, tweaked the level design and added some new character art (for Gigi at least). I wasn’t successful in tonight’s run, but I made it to the 2nd tier of the campaign before getting annihilated by an elite swarm.

Time To Go Nuts!

Ever since the idea was conceived of a squirrel wreaking havoc using a gun (and other handy items) I knew I had to get in on the action. Squirrel with a Gun finally released today and I was there for it! Already spent a couple hours learning the controls and doing some squirrely crimes against humanity.

You start off in a top secret facility where you steal your first Golden Acorn, that’s how you know shit is serious. Afterwards your only exit opens where you’ll meet your first Agent who is none too happy to see you. Not that it matters, he dropped his gun and he was nothing more than a funny ragdoll to kick around the room once I was finished.

Eventually, you make your brilliant escape you make your way to the surface, where you don’t have to be so secret anymore. This game has everything that you would never think of; a house where you literally have to play Hot Lava, holding up human victims to make them drop their acorns, a cookout to disrupt, a minefield to traverse and a tank that I’ve yet to steal among whatever else I’ve yet to discover.

Of course, it’s not all crime and violence. I did make a sad human happy by stealing a birthday cake and giving it to him… after using it to make a propane cylinder in a BBQ grill to explode. I also let some humans take pictures of me when I found out I didn’t have to resort to violence to get their nuts. Overall it was a fun couple of hours. My only complaints with the game so far are the inability to use a mouse in the menus, and the severe lack of photo mode. I’m looking forward to seeing what the modding community delivers!

M-M-M-My Suika!

It was a hot summer day. Perfect for playing a small game that ate more of my time than expected due to it being ridiculously addictive. It’s pretty basic; combine fruits in a jar, matching fruits become a bigger fruit and eventually if you’re lucky you get a watermelon. Yutram inadvertently introduced me to the game while they were going through their own addiction cycle with it, and apparently today was my turn.

Forever DOOMed

Bethesda recently remastered DOOM and DOOM II for modern consoles… which means my Steam copies of the original got a free upgrade! I decided to check it out tonight. While I prefer GZDoom it does look like it has potential. You can load mods, it runs at modern refresh rates and more modern controls. Of course, the most important update obviously has to be the achievements.

From what I can tell not many have checked out the new shiny version of the old school. All the achievements I got tonight are still considered rare, even for the easiest tasks. Maybe that’ll change in time, who knows… I’ll probably install this on Steam Deck at some point for some portable progression.

Watermelon Cocaine

This wasn’t on my 21st Century Bingo Card.

The shipment was taken off the truck and, upon a closer look, officers discovered a seedy situation: 1,220 packages of methamphetamine, wrapped in paper and painted two shades of green to mimic a watermelon.

It’s official. Cocaine Watermelons will now be a thing.

Combining My Two Latest Obsessions

Moved the plot along in HZD tonight, and not by much when I found some more sidequests. Also made time to clear one trial, only a few more until I get allll of the suns.

Then Yutram and I went into Resonite. It started with us watching my next YouTube video together to see if it passes the necessary tests to be deemed export-worthy. Next thing we knew we were exploring Japan as Godzilla sized tourists, it was educational… I think?

Video Content Update

Video production is going well. So far I have two Resonite videos compiled and ready to release. The Resonite videos won’t have any additional animation to go with them, unfortunately. As much as I’d like to add something extra I can’t find the reason. As it stands though I think they’ll be fine enough on their own. When I have more energy tomorrow I’ll start working on the video thumbnail(s)

Until then I’ve been diagnosed with sleep.
