I don’t have much to offer for April Fools apart from myself. After all I was born in April, and most would think I’m a fool.

During my work nights I’ve been lighting candles, especially on cold nights. It provides a nice warm ambient light and a scent to delight dreams. As an added bonus: When I wake up in the morning the light is soft enough on the early morning eye.
I’ve been trying to do small things for myself to help ease stress. I made some miso ramen on the stove today while doing some after work tidying, and currently enjoying some hot cocoa before bed while being accompanied by the alluring scent of watermelon. Last night it was successful in ensnaring me in a peaceful watermelon patch filled dream. I just hope that if I dream again tonight, that I don’t accidentally collect a tree this time. You have no idea how much that can affect one’s carryweight.
Tonight’s game of “two heads screaming into a microphone” was a success! I’ll mix it together tomorrow and apply it to the final scene (not represented above). Oh well… I can’t wrap up the video like I had originally planned, but on the bright side this will be my most animated video. When I’m finished there will probably be (slightly) more animation than gameplay.
I still have another video or two I can get out of the gameplay footage alone! I’m wondering how well those will stack up if I’m leading with a video just pouring animated mayhem.
Today was a “feeling under the weather” kind of day. I was in and out of bed pretty much until the afternoon, sipping a chamomile blend. In fact I didn’t realise it, but I’m pretty low on my chamomile collection (only one bag of loose leaf left *gasp*). I decided to place some orders, all from the comfort of the bed place.
Other than that I’ve been shopping around for decor still, but haven’t bought anything. I also filmed the intro part of the video, and have plans to start posing the outro tomorrow after work. That won’t take long, then all I have to do is wait to hear back from someone about which script to go with… assuming I don’t do a rewrite while waiting.

I was still in a bit of a stabby shooty mood today, but wanted to play Shadow Warrior 2 instead. I finished some side quests, collected swag, read a few fortune cookies, and even advanced the plot and earned a couple new achievements! All the while warming the house with my fun time. It was fun to take my aggression out on demons, cyborgs, the Yakuza… this game has everything!
I figure once I finish this game the third one will be on a decent enough sale to buy. This game is big enough to keep me busy for awhile, and one of these days I’ll have to will myself to play the first game again to collect some missing achievements.
In tonight’s installment of things I did that no one is going to give a shit about: I made more progress in NieR Replicant! I figured I haven’t played it in awhile and popped in for a visit, did a couple sidequests and advanced the plot slightly. I just wanted a small fix of it tonight, cut loose a little after another work week.
Meanwhile, in the land of yesterday: I pieced together my animations and stills on the video project! I ran into a bit of a “problem” of sorts, fortunately it’s nothing a bit little animation and twisted imaginations can fix. I’ve decided to add an animated intro and outro to this particular video. I already have the intro fleshed out for the most part, and was going over the end with my video partner. I have two different ideas, and wrote two different ending scripts side by side (this is where the 4K monitor comes in handy). Oh well… I guess this means the blog will have to put up with more questionable imagery, but that’ll have to wait a day or two though. 😛 It’s my weekend, and I have other plans.

He’s getting so big!I keep meaning to snap some more pics of the little fella, but he’s like trying to catch a little fireball. These were taken a couple of days ago. I couldn’t decide which shot I liked better, so here are a couple to faithfully stare at.
This doubles as my current mood. But in my case it’s an oncoming fish n chips coma. I’ll venture into Shotcut tomorrow to start putting things together! In the meantime… food coma.
It’s close to what I want it to look like, but still needs a few tweaks to the overall picture. Perhaps add a few more things, adjust the lighting, and maybe play around with it in Krita. If I’m happy enough with it I’ll consider uploading it tomorrow — it might be fun to have a before and after shot. 😛
