Surprise Balduring!

Couldn’t resist doing a little more Balduring tonight. I have an extra day off tomorrow, and luck brought Yutram and I together to make it all the way to the Forge in the Underdark. We fought and won a battle that we were sure we would lose, even with a party of six. As usual I made a recording, should make for some nice footage when I get around to it.

I don’t think I’ve gone into detail about this particular character. She’s a high half elf Rogue Spellsword – loosely based on my Skyrim character, traveling with her best friend – a Drow Monk and any of the other characters that want to tag along. We were discussing future character ideas for different runs. One of our other friends got the game for his birthday recently, and it would be fun to make something to troll them with. 😛

Crossing A River Of Glitches

We had fun trying to get through the river of darkness with six characters. Last night when we made my companions glitch out of existence. They were still alive, but they were invisible and immovable. When I summoned the boat it did the same thing to my friend’s companions. We ended up sending two of them back to camp, made our way across in the boat, and then regrouped afterwards. Other than that little snag it’s been fun playing with a party of six.

We called it a night after biting it in a battle we had no chance of winning. This is where our heroes will rest until the next upcoming weekend. It’s back to cycling other games to keep things fresh. I was actually thinking of doing a theme this month for my gaming posts. Since it’s Women’s History Month I’m thinking of prioritizing my playtime for games where there is either a female character, or games that grant the option to play as whatever you want. Baldur’s Gate 3 is pretty versatile in that regard, and it also gives me an excuse to binge the Tomb Raider Remaster if I so choose. 😛 She was the first woman I ever played in a video game, so it’s only right I give her some screentime. Of course, more lady protaganists have appeared since the 90’s! So you can guess that I’ll be covering them also!

Back To Baldurin’

It’s been an eternity since we last played Baldur’s Gate 3, or two weeks… same thing.

We had issues for a couple weeks figuring out how to get mods working, and then once we got it figured out a patch broke the script extender used to play with mods. But eventually it all got ironed out in time for my weekend! So Yutram and I went down down down by the river for a few fun hours of adventure. It was fun as much as it was buggy. By default you can play with a party of up to 4, but thanks to modding we up’d the count to 6. It makes fighting slightly more chaotic, and tonight we learned that sometimes when initiating a cutscene it will leave two of your party members behind and render them unusable. We ended up having to backtrack to a slightly older autosave, we didn’t lose MUCH progress, but it was enough for us to call it a night.

Despite the bugs I did level up my character to lvl 6 and earned a couple achievements. We’re planning to go Balduring again tomorrow if everything lines up. It was soooo nice to finally be able to play together again!

Playing Down By The River Again

We continued our fabulous adventures in Baldur’s Gate 3! Covered more ground, completed some quests and freed a prisoner or two, and made friends with a really hot babe.

It was an excellent escape for a rainy weekend. I’ve mostly been taking it easy and sipping tea today. I’ll probably do something a little more productive tomorrow, now that I feel my stamina returning to me. I also have some story writing I’d like to finish up, and another Open Source video editing program I want to revisit and learn – a topic for a future post. 🙂

Sunday Night Fun: A Lil’ Work & A Lil’ Play

We had our weekly BG3 session tonight. I drank some bad well water, pissed off a Swamp Karen and collected sausages and other odd swag.

Also managed to frame a future scene for one of the next Skyrim videos. It’s going to be a gaming montage from one of the past livestreams, it’ll probably be awhile before it sees the light of day. I have everything pretty much posed in place, now I’ll just need to draft a story together to tie into the gameplay. I already have a few ideas, just need to put them into a format involving words.

Other than that I’ve been enjoying fine wine and creamy choco-hazelnut tea lattes. Tonight I made a spicy tuna tomato pasta tonight with olives, and last night I made my own rendition of Beef Burgundy Stew. I say my own rendition because I had to change a few things in the recipe to make it more tolerable. Like, not using four fucking onions. I traded two of them for some quartered red baby potat’s. A stew without potat’s?! That’s a fucking crime! The stew tasted even better today when I had some with a breakfast sandwich. Between those two meals I won’t have to worry about making anything for a few days. 🙂

Read Any Good Books Lately?

We did a better job this time around of not dying and getting lost in the Underdark. We finished our fighting, and went topside to the Gnome Camp to take care of some unfinished business, messed around with different strategies, and maaaaaybe a little bit of reloading.

We played for a good couple of hours. Ended the night by actually ending the evening in game. Next time we go to play we’ll be rested and refreshed, just as our true weekend selves can be. 🙂

The Inevitable Weekend BG3 Post

Played a little bit of BG3 tonight, didn’t make it too far but we did learn some new strategies. It was a small break from the video… I’m almost done working on it – keep running into the occasional hitch, but I’m getting through it. Gonna finish the credits, then I’ll finally be able to export it! Then sleepy time.

Silent Sunday: More Adventuring!

Now that I’ve figured out how to disable the UI I’ve been able to take some really decent photos! This game has so many beautiful sights to take in, and we’ve barely scratched the surface.

I helped a bard and was treated to a private concert. We also helped a child escape a few annoying harpies at the beach, and even attended Burning Man.

Of course it wasn’t ALL fun and games… in Baldur’s Gate 3, anyway. I did refine some animation today, and even played a little bit of Neon White for the first time in months. 😛 Mainly trying to Platinum a couple of levels I had Gold Rank on. I might actually finish that game at some point this year! 😛

Saturday Night Gaming

I decided to give my Steam Deck some attention today, just to kill off the rest of the battery before doing a recharge. Returned to BloodRayne after a long reprieve, and actually made it a couple levels further. The fighting seems a lot easier compared to the second game, but then again I am only a few levels in. I think in BloodRayne 2 I left off a few levels away from the end. I vow to return to it when I’m done being pissed off at it.

Towards the evening I met up with Yutram again to continue our long journey to rid ourselves of the dreaded cthulu parasites. We lost a couple battles, won some unexpected ones, saved a couple NPC’s from flames, and met my watermelon colored guardian and got a little digital shut-eye.

Now to go and follow suit. 🙂

Accept Loviatard’s Love HURR DURR!!!

We had another fun evening venturing the world of Baldur’s Gate! This time at a more leisurely pace, though the glitched gods did smite Yutram with a game crash we did manage to persevere.

Of course, they did bless him with a charming performance. While my character was partaking in BDSM to earn a special blessing, the Dom was facing the wrong direction on Yutram’s screen, resulting in an extremely derpy dominatrix facing away from my severely albino half high elf. I actually kinda envied his POV. Other than that, we survived a few battles and freed a bard. Also emptied our collections of random junk to a trader for some extra coin. I’m already looking forward to the next session!
