No, this isn’t chili

But it is really good! It’s a special oatmeal I made with British Strwaberry Nesquik (it has vitamins and natural strawberry believe it or not, unlike the Murican version which has artificial flavoring and little to no nutritional value), chopped strawberries from the garden, pecans and dark chocolate chips. It’s more of a valentines day flavor I guess, but it was a cold morning, and I wanted something sweet. I was not disappointed!

This concludes Weekend Breakfast at the Overlord’s. Tune in next week when I decide to do another thing! (Descriptive I know…)

Valentine Yogurt

I celebrated Valentines Day by making a chocolate strawberry yogurt parfait with a few chocolates and some cocoa granola:

The one on the left is a mint chocolate parfait. Figured I would make something holiday themed and practice for a St Pat’s parfait for next month! I want to make something that tastes like a shamrock shake minus the throat burning and concrete staining our amazing American McDonald’s Milkshakes are known for.

On another note: I’m almost out of Watermelon juice… :zorak:  Will have to stock up for the weekend I suppose. :melon:

Breakfast or Dessert?

It’s my brother’s birthday today, and I wanted to make something special. After yesterday’s fruit infused breakfast I wanted something more chocolaty. I made a basic oatmeal recipe with a couple tablespoons of cocoa powder, a little vanilla extract, mint extract, honey and a little brown sugar and got a nice mint chocolate oatmeal! Even the tea was mint chocolate! All the taste of dessert with enough protein to kick the day in the nuts (for more protein mix a couple egg whites in before you start cooking).

I think I’ll make this again sometime to mix with a yogurt parfait. I think this would taste good layered in between sections of yogurt.

This Sunday Breakfast Was A Little… Different

It’s 2020 now. Most of us are recooperating from the hectic holidays, trying to lose all of that festive food we’ve packed on over the last couple months. Obviously it makes sense to make a chocolate shake for breakfast.

Of course, at first glance it doesn’t look very healthy. But this actually has greek vanilla yogurt, pulverized oats and caramel cashews, one banana, a couple tablespoons of nutella spread, a tablespoon of cocoa powder and almond milk. It did a good job of keeping me full till the afternoon once pizza o clock hit. It was a good way of starting the morning, especially since cleaning was involved. Had to sweeten the morning in some way, and I’ve heard cocoa can help relieve depression symptoms, so I might as well enjoy some cocoa while doing something depressing. :v:

I’ve been reading all kinds of recipes for homemade meal shakes, and wanted to do something different for my special weekend breakfast instead of the usual bacon and eggs combo. I’m also thinking of replacing my lunch shakes with homemade ones. The same chocolate shake mix becomes quite dull after awhile.

I haven’t decided if I’ll have another breakfast shake tomorrow, or if I’ll do something with bacon involved.

No, I’m not making a bacon smoothie. Anyone who suggests that has to go eat a bag of salted dicks.
