Girls Night Out in Crash 4!

Figured out how to get mods to work! Modding newer unreal engine games is surprisingly easy when the game allows for it. I decided to make it a Girls Night Out! I’ll be transferring a small collection I’m accumulating over to my Steam Deck, and maybe the TV.

Twice The Crashing!

I made time to do Crash on the couch with some Crash! I’ve been playing a little here and there, some on Steam Deck, some on Desktop, and tonight a little bit on a big TV.  Next time I play I’ll have some fun mods to look at. The Nexus seems to have more than the one for N.Sane Trilogy.

Of course, I’ve also been plinking away at Crash Bandicoot 2 in the N.Sane Trilogy, simultaneously yelling fuck at the screen constantly and having a good time. I’m trying to get all of the gems, when I played the original back on the PS1 I never did get all the gems. The gem hunting is making me a little tired, though. It’s been a long day, and a little bit of reliving my childhood helped me forget the stupid, for a little while anyway.

SFM Diary: You Had Me At Emeralds

I spent the later part of my evening working on animating a couple goofy evil men sharing a couple drinks at The Inventory. I like to wonder what it would be like if all these game universes intermingled, like if each game universe was from another state or country, would they go on outings like this? Cortex and Eggman have shared interests; they both have a thing for certain types of bling, and their good counterparts are both furry platformers.

The Crash Bandicoot Intro That Never Was

This was another treasure I found while surfing the nerdier parts of YouTube awhile back, and I thought about it again today while playing Crash during my lunch break. Just think; Somewhere in an alternate universe this would have been the intro and outro for the original Crash Bandicoot game… The production quality is actually quite good, to the grade of even being a Saturday Morning cartoon, and they even got Jim Cummings to sing it! But it wouldn’t have meshed well with the game being a 3D platformer.

Crash Bandicoot Mods? Yes Please!

I got curious yesterday evening and ventured around the internet to find if there were any mods for the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, and I was not disappointed. I’ve already installed a mod that bypasses the annoying start screen, meaning it will only play the optional cutscenes. You can download this mod from the Nexus. They have other model swap mods (like swapping out regular Crash for Bker Crash or Scuba Crash for example) too plus an edited level by the looks of it. I didn’t see many mods, but it would be cool to see if this is further expanded upon just to give more replay value on top of the replay value that’s already there.

All aboard the nostalgiagasm train

I’ve read more exciting news today! First, for some odd reason the newly remastered Crash Bandicoot will be coming out to PC July 10th.

Funny timing, as I’ve been contemplating getting out my Crash Bandicoot CD’s to play in an emulator (even though I could use my PS3 to play them), and comes as a surprise to me as that has always been a Playstation Exclusive. Of course I’m not going to complain, I’m just hoping it’ll be a good port. This was probably one of my favorite platforms when I was growing up. In fact this and Tomb Raider were probably my most played games during that particular period. It would be funny if that also got a remaster… oh wait.

Tomb Raider 1 looks the most impressive to me. Tomb Raider 2 not so much.

Although I’ve had issues running it and Tomb Raider 3 on my newer hardware, so at least there’s a chance of me being able to play them again and maybe even stream them., which I already had planned for Tomb Raider 1 after I’ve patched it recently to run natively in Windows. Either way, between these and the soon to be released remasters of Devil May Cry I’m pretty stoked.
