Meanwhile, in Fallout 4…

I’ve basically been doing to Fallout 4 what I’ve done to Skyrim; Installing as many mods as possible both ridiculous and not.

One of the clothing mods I stumbled across was a set of Motoko Kusanagi outfits from Ghost In The Shell;. Since I already had some MGSV armors and masks installed it only made sense to add Ghost In The Shell, as finding mods pertaining to that series is rather difficult. If I had known about this mod sooner I would have given my character purple hair, although in some way the white hair seems to work fine. So far I have this (and Motoko’s other outfits), Deadpool, 2B, Big Boss, Quiet, XOF armor, Parasite Unit armor, Octocamo armor and solid eye, and much much more. I have no desire to stop looking at mods either. 😛

I may have to record my adventures as I’ve done with Skyrim. After all, Fallout 4 is basically Skyrim with guns. :v:

Wandering the wasteland in high heels.

On a whim I had an itch to return to Fallout 4. On my previous build it wasn’t very well optimized, but this time around it runs a lot smoother despite not detecting my hardware. There are still some hiccups in certain places, but I think those can be tweaked with mods and ini variables.

Fallout Automata

I’ll have to make a second attempt at getting this to work on my laptop. On my previous one I got it to work fine, but no matter what I tried it outright refused to use most of the mods I downloaded in NMM. I’m thinking last time it was a permissions setting, and I’m hoping that by playing around a bit more with the desktop version I’ll have a better time getting it ironed out.

Because when I think Russian hackers I think of Fallout 4

Vault boy after watching CNN

Teh Interwebz are abuzz about CNN using hacking footage from the Fallout series to show how Russians are hacking.

This is right up there with Russians using pictures and from games to make their cases about how evil we murican’s really are.

Well, I guess if I ever get Fallout 4 to work properly on my laptop I can use the hacking terminals and scare people in the breakroom.. Oh wait, most of the people in my area voted for Trump, they’ll probably praise my Russian American patriotism.

Better off slamming my head against a brick wall

I’ve spent the about the last 4 or 5 hours trying to get Fallout 4 modded on my laptop with no progress whatsoever. I don’t get it. I’ve followed the instructions, edited the appropriate ini file as per Nexus’ instructions, downloaded and used the same mods from my desktop and even tried to copy them over directly to my laptop… Nothing. It just wants to ignore my mods even exist and continue in pure vanilla. I have no idea what is going on, and I’ll probably find out later on it was probably something stupid that I’m missing, but at this time it’s incredibly frustrating. I didn’t have this problem getting Skyrim up and running on my laptop, why does Fallout 4 have to be so god damn S.P.E.C.I.A.L?

I’m going to have to set some time aside, on a day off preferably so I can properly figure out WTF is going on when I decide to pick up on it again…

What a waste of time. I need to stop doing this shit on work nights.

War, war never changes…

The whole war turned my hair white, even before the war.

With the Steam sale I decided Fallout 4 was cheap enough with both the game and the season pass (although I purchased it through Bundle Stars instead with an additional Black Friday coupon), and so far it’s basically Skyrim with guns. I’ve really been enjoying it, even though I have some pet peeves about it compared to Skyrim.

In Skyrim you could press ESC to get out of any menu or map, but in this you have to use TAB instead unless you’re using workshop mode, then you have to press ESC. That has taken some getting used to. Then of course there is a framerate issue, being that NVidia and Bethesda have been bed buddies for over a decade I kinda expected it. But in most places the framerate stays at 60, in larger areas it dips down pretty low though. Probably doesn’t help that I’ve added a foliage mod to make the scenery more fabulous. There have been points where I’ve had to stop playing it to rest my eyes because of it, one of the same reasons why I can’t play much of Obduction between the low framerates and the stuttering. I think my new glasses somehow make it worse, this is going to be one of those games that I’ll progress through very slowly as a result.

Fabulous hair is fabulous.

I mentioned that I added a foliage mod, I also added some character mods too since vanilla was so… vanilla. Made my character amazing. Then there is my husband…

Error: Don’t know how to father.

Plus I’ve added some additional armors, suits and weapons that I’ll hopefully find in the future.

Totally didn’t see this coming

People stealing mods from PC to put on the console? Color me fucking shocked…

Fallout 4 mods have been live on the Xbox One version of the game for a week now, marking a first for the series. While no-one can argue that expanding mods to console gamers is a good thing, what isn’t a good thing is when unscrupulous types simple steal content from PC mods and re-upload it as their own work on the Xbox One version, which is something that is reportedly happening.

The XBox One may have mods for Fallout 4 coming, but there’s still going to be restrictions.

I’ve been listening to my console friends rejoice about finally being able to mod Fallout 4 on their fave systems. But that modding comes with a restriction if you’re on the XBone.

Mods are coming to the Xbox One version of Fallout 4, but, they won’t work exactly like the wild wild west of PC modding. The XB1 is a closed platform owned by Microsoft, afterall, so there will be some restrictions. In a live stream event Bethesda detailed some of those restrictions, the most significant of which being that mods for the Xbox One version of Fallout 4 have to be smaller than 2GB.

2GB doesn’t sound like too much. In fact that would drive me insane, especially with the mods that I find for Skyrim which can span into the double digits. Though I’m sure the console peasants won’t mind, as they’re already used to living with restrictions anyway. 😉

Yes I’m hyped, no I’m not pre-ordering.

All has been calm on the western front. I’ve had some people ask me if I was going to preorder MGSV Phantom Pain, FallOut 4, Mad Max etc etc, and to that I say no. Mostly because for one the pre-order bonuses (when offered) aren’t worth it to me, and the amount spent on even one of these games is a bit much for me right now. That and I have a large collection of games to keep me busy, or the way my game habits have been lately I should say Skyrim has been keeping me busy.

I imagine between modding that, server management, playing on said servers and just working in general I’ll be plenty busy by the time they all go on sale alongside all the other games that I want to buy.

So it’ll happen eventually. In the meantime I have no problems making sure I’m not bored. In fact I can’t even remember the last time I was bored. O_o
