Took some aggression out in DOOM 2 tonight. I went through some footage earlier and found out that it didn’t record correctly, and I had to delete another few hundred gigs…I feel a little better now that I’ve managed to kill some demons. Stopped on Lvl 10 for tonight, and even got an achievement for finding a BFG! Either way, I think I got enough anger out of my system to go to bed.

Under The Influence of Life
Continuing where I left off last week in High on Life. I earned the ability to use warp discs to get around, completed a paperwork game that went on a little longer than it should have, and decided to call it a night at the Boss Battle.
I came close to defeating him, but the light on his candle was only .1% harder to snuff out than the likes of mine. Called it a night before motion sickness sat in. This game, and a few other Unreal Engine games are making me consider upgrading my SSD/NVMe storage. The prices have been amazing for a few months now, and with more games using more resources and drive speed it would make sense to upgrade soon.
That and 4K rendering is far better on an SSD than a mechanical drive.
Kiss My Asgard
Channeled a bit of my inner Gun-Toting Valkyrie in BPM: Bullets Per Minute tonight! I haven’t played it in almost half a year, and surprisingly I had my longest run yet!
In case you never heard of it before; BPM: Bullets Per Minute is an FPS Roguelike where you battle your way through randomly generated paths on each run to the rhythm of music, obtaining coin, health and power-ups along the way with the occasional boss battle and challenge at the end of each level. Tonight was the furthest I made it tonight! Not bad for not playing for almost half a year. I passed Asgard, Vanaheim, and Svartalfheim and eventually getting beaten to death in Helheim. That said, it did get me some new achievements!
Normally I can only seem to get out of Asgard II before inevitably dying, but tonight I managed to get a good selection of stats. I’ll have to see if I can beat the game sometime between now and six months into the future!
DOOM 2: Demonic Boogaloo
Been playing DOOM 2 the last couple of nights. I barely remember these levels, apart from the first one. But I’ve managed to knock some rust off of this ol’ game to remember. I’m stopping on E1M7 for now. I’ll probably move onto something different for my weekend, and maybe even some big TV gaming! I pretty much have the place to myself tomorrow, and I can make dinner at the same time. Just need to contemplate what game is worthy of some big screen time?
And So It Ends… For Now.
Decided to end tonight by completing The Black Labyrinth! Truly a stunning DLC from start to finish, just as beautiful and crazy as the base game. It was so much fun to come back and play AMID EVIL again! I’ll need to return to it someday to obtain one more achievement to once again 100% the game. It gives me an excuse to go back and find the secrets I missed the first time. 🙂
If they made another DLC campaign for this, or even a sequel I’d happily look forward to it. The amount of imagination that went into crafting these levels is far beyond stunning. It’s always a mix of joy and sadness when I finally finish a game with an actual ending.
Lucky for me I have plenty of other ones to try and finish! 😛 What will the weekend bring me? Only a goodnight’s rest and one more day of hell will get me there.
The Final Challenge Awaits… Next Time
Ventured deeper into AMID EVIL’s Black Labyrinth this evening. Made it a couple levels further, and even scored an achievement for reaping 10 souls with the scythe, I’m getting really close to 100% again on achievements! I’m also well poised for next time:
On the otherside of that open door a challenge awaits me. I was hoping to get this wrapped up tonight but juuuuuuust ran out of time. I might consider wrapping up the challenge tomorrow night.
Assuming I don’t get lost looking in the level for secrets. 😛
Went Out For Shots
Another weekend begins, which means another chance at leveling up in Borderlands 3! We played for a few hours, completed a couple side-quests and moved the main story a bit, even made some new friends. With the Winter Sale being just around the corner we should probably consider loading up on some DLC. 😀 Maybe even some new potential adventures to have!
You Got DOOM in my PORTAL 2!
To celebrate DOOM’s 30th anniversary, we’re playing DOOM in Portal 2!
The Inferno Awaits
Completed Episode 2 of DOOM! (Again). Finding a lot of secrets that I missed what felt like centuries ago.
There’s just something nice about revisiting these old ones, something warming in the old graphics and music. Funny enough I used to play a lot of DOOM during the holidays, though part of that might be because of it releasing 30 years ago this month. 😀 More on that later…
