Today’s Weather: Devilish

Another hot summer like day with just me, nature, and my Steam Deck. Devil May Cry 4: SE isn’t rated at all for Steam Deck, but so far it has run without a hitch. No crashes, no weird graphical freakouts. I can get about a little over an hour on a fully charged battery. It also supports cloud saves, though if I can’t find a way to max it out to 4K on my main desktop I might mainly play it on Steam Deck. I’ll need to consult the PCGamingWiki on another night, and maybe Nexus mods.

Campfires and Demons

I’m hoping to have this done by the end of May, hopefully. This scene was rendered tonight, and a couple renders more it’ll be done!

While my desktop was busy rendering I gave my Steam Deck some attention by picking up where I left off on last night’s Darksiders Adventure. Upgraded the sword and obtained the scythe, then proceeded to hijack an angel’s ride. I switched back over to desktop after the render finished… cloud saves FTW. I left a note to my future self as a reminder of where to continue next time I play. After two nights of grinding this one I’ll move to another game… maybe something slightly less hellish.

Party Like It’s The Apocalypse

I keep telling myself that I’ll beat Darksiders one of these days, and thanks to Cloud Saves and the Steam Deck I’m hoping to make that happen. For the most part I remembered how to play, despite the long lapse since my last session. I did see some higher res textures on the Nexus Mods site, might consider adding those for next time I play in 4K.

I will say though; Every time I’ve played this I keep finding new things at the start. It’s like each time I play I get more adventurous.. might even play more of this tomorrow night after some animation, which btw… got a lot done tonight. 😉

Frolicking Around The Cemetery

It’s been a week since I last played with my Steam Deck. I decided to give it a little love tonight by playing a bit of BloodRayne. Defeated the Queen of the Underworld and unlocked Blood Rage Lvl 3. It’s definitely been the right weather to play tonight. Dark, foggy and plenty of wind. The perfect way to end a quiet evening of video sorting. Even deleted a few hundred gigs!

Yesterday’s Adventure, Tonight’s Post

Dust discovers a friendo.

Made it to 80% yesterday! Rescued a friend, found another chest and collected some more keys. I would have played a little more tonight, but it’s been one of those days where I find myself busy from before dawn to after moonrise. I’ll make up for it tomorrow by making time to play something completely different.

A Whole Other Wonderland

Alice arrives in wonderland.

I never played any of American McGee’s Alice games, and that changed this evening! I never bothered making an EA/Origin account, and didn’t feel like doing so. But several years later when EA returned to Steam and a few sales later I ended up getting it, but never got around to playing it until now. It released in 2011 but the graphics hold up really well!

ALL ABOARD!!!!

I also installed it onto my Steam Deck! Unfortunately it doesn’t offer cloud saves, which means unless I manually update my saves in between my systems I’ll have to play two separate saves. Other than that it runs really well on a hand held, controls and all.

I’ve Been Given The Bird

I somehow managed to get past Chapter 11 during lunch… with a couple minutes to spare! Maybe I play better when I’m timed? Either way I got a couple of achievements, and I just finished up another chapter! I have Goffik Flappy Bird Power to work with now!

I’m three levels away from reaching the end! That will have to wait for another night.  I’ve been grinding this game out the last few nights… time for something else.

Take It On The Run, Baby

Everything about my Three Day Weekend has been according to plan, which is impressive because I didn’t make any plans! I slept in, made some shrimp fried rice and a cucumber tomato salad for a Chinese Brunch, gave myself a bit of a spa treatment, finished up another Skyrim compilation video and finally got my inner cyber ninja on in Ghostrunner. I forgot how fun this game was, in fact…

Do you ever step away from a game for so long that you end up forgetting how to play? I had to go back to square one just to remember the controls. While I didn’t progress past where I left off – I did at least get an achievement for surviving a run without dying! So I had that much going for me at least. The last time I played this it was on my Steam Deck, which performs ok but realllly turns it into a hand warmer. I enjoyed it on a 4K screen tonight, with my only complaint being that mods don’t seem to work at all when I install them… I’ve tried a few seperate sword mods at the Nexus and I can’t get any of them to load, despite following the mod instructions to a T.

T’is a mystery that will have to go unsolved for now.
