Bloodstained Sunday

Hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since I’ve last set foot in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but I made progress! I even found the Oriental Secret Lab just before calling it quits. What little I’ve seen has been beautiful so far, much like the rest of the game. I might even play a bit more on Steam Deck before bed, if only to see a bit more of the lab!

Adventures in Asgard

Had fun with infinite dying in BPM: Bullets Per Minute! It becomes more and more interesting each time you come back to life. I lol’d when I found Space Asgard. It was a great way to blast out a day’s worth of stress and hypertension… I’m glad tomorrow’s my Friday.

Suddenly Furries!

I cleared a few sidequests in Dust: An Elysian Tail, and also did one of the trials! Sat outside on my Steam Deck and got some fresh air while making progress. I’m at level 28 now, and 61% completion. I’ve done JUST enough to merit another break! 😛

Another Evening, Another Chapter

Just finished Chapter 2 before calling it a night. I learned about tunneling, found a few more mushrooms and relics, and uncovered more memories.

With many more waiting to be uncovered, once I find some time. Tonight I spent a little extra time on animating my current project. I should have it ready to render in a day or two! I might work on it over the weekend just to get it finished up, it’s that close!

I Found Lost Ember

Doggo

Today during lunch I pulled out my Steam Deck and visited the world of Lost Ember. A world of beauty, lost souls and a mysterious past waiting to be unraveled. The game starts with an explanation of this universes life/death cycle, claiming that if you did everything right in life, your soul would ascend to The City of Light. If not, the soul is reborn as a wild beast.

The Tale of a Wolf and a Soul turned Spirit Guide.

You play a Lost Ember that was reincarnated as a Wolf, and you help a soul that turns out to be your Spirit Guide. Together you’ll wander the land uncovering your past life, among other collectables scattered throughout your journey.

Unraveling the past.

As you explore, you start to learn more and more about yourself, and if your soul can be redeemed. It kinda gives me Aer: Memories of Old vibes, in the sense that you have a large area to explore, and memories scattered throughout. The added bonus is being able to become other animals to experience different perspectives:

Bird’s The Word

Unlike the average Lost Ember, you possess the ability to transfer your soul to any living animal. Become birds to fly throughout the sky, or become smaller animals to get into small areas, or burrow underground. So far I’ve only been a little over 5 different animals, and found a few shrooms and artifacts. Definitely a cozy vibe type of game. I’m gonna be savoring this one for awhile! After all, I’m only on Chapter 2 and I always appreciate a good story at the end of the day. I have high hopes for this one!

Of Heaven and Hell

It was another nice summer day that passed through. I woke up and enjoyed a Mediterranean quinoa bowl and picked up Hades for the first time in ages. I installed it onto the Steam Deck today, and as expected it runs to perfection. So far I’ve bit the dust 10 times, petted three headed doggo enough for an achievement, and cleared Tartarus… only to die and begin again once more. 😛

I did get to cycle some of the weapons. Played with the shield, a spear, played with the bow for a bit. For not having touched this one in awhile I think I did ok; I advanced the plot, made myself a bit stronger, enjoyed stabbing things, among other things.

Then later on in the day, when it started to cool I went to Heaven to get some Neon White Achievements and grab as many gifts as I could find. Did really well getting the Ace Medals, someday if I’m brave enough I’ll start going for the Dev Medals. They can only be obtained if you beat a level under a game dev’s completion time. I think I already have one that I got by accident.

Skipping Through The Spikes

For my weekend of decompression I had a nice Mediterranean omelette, blueberry tea and snacks throughout the day, and decided to return to Neon White. It’s been a few months, but I’ve moved to the third chapter, and went back and collected gifts and ace medals. Gained a couple of achievements along the way, learned a new card trick, etc.

I’ve played multiple genres over the years, but have never quite played anything like Neon White. I’m really savoring each session.
