The Revolution Is Over… At Aperture

One of the main reasons I always preferred PC Gaming to console is the modabillity of games, when applicable. An XBox or Playstation version of Portal 2 doesn’t go nearly as far or as hard as the PC Version, where the modding never really stopped. We get to enjoy mods like Portal Reloaded, Thinking with Time Machine, and Portal Revolution! I managed to finish it tonight, it was a wild ride and it did an incredible job replicating the humor of the original base games. I’ll need to go back and grab the achievements I missed after giving myself a break from it, but overall I had a wonderful time playing!

Stay tuned next for a completely different game… probably.

Finally Beat Portal Reloaded!

I thought someone was cooking bacon nearby tonight, but it was just me wracking my brain on the final puzzles. This was so incredible that I kept forgetting it was just a game mod.

Until I find someone to play Multiplayer with I’ll have to check out some other mods! I’m thinking Portal Revolution will be the next one to check out.

Loaded Portal Reloaded

Knocked some dust off of Portal Reloaded tonight. I’m only a few levels away from finishing it, but tonight I only had time to beat one level and spent the rest of it pondering the next puzzle. I’ve made it to excursion funnels, so I’ll have to science out how to use them across space and time… or at least time with slightly less space.

Making Time For Time Travel

Started on Test Chamber 19 tonight, ended up Test Chamber 22! Only a few more chambers and I can add this to the completed list! I’m totally giving this a positive review when I finish it! These Chambers have been really fun to fry my brains over! I’m now at a point in the game where I have to combine everything I know to get through the remainder of the game. Now to take another long break until I decide to continue the final leg(s) of my journey. I’m thinking tomorrow’s game time will involve something with more exploration…. possibly in an indie universe? I’m thinking either Lost Ember or Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

Breaking My Brain With Portals

Made it past the first aerial faith plate test, which was surprisingly easy. The next one makes up for the simplicity of the other one, enough that I’ll have to rest my head on it. I have it most of the way figured out. Now I just need to figure out how to use momentum across time while the time portal is restricted to only one tiny room… that’s my theory anyway. 😛

Too Tired To Brain

Didn’t complete this chamber tonight, but I’m getting a better idea of what I need to do. I can tell the answer is right in front of me, but the fog of fatigue seems to be clouding my vision. I’ll need to return to this one when my brain is slightly more awake.

Science, Time Travel, and Cats

It’s been mostly work and hardly any play these last couple of days. So I took a break tonight and played a couple of games! Steam Next Fest is currently going again, and I’ve seen some of my Steam friends playing “Little Kitty, Big City” and I figured why not give it a go? It’s similar to Stray, in the sense that you wander around as a cat. But the aesthetics are more cartoony, and you can interact with humans and have conversations with other animals. Looks like we’ll have another cat game to look forward to next year!

I also had a small itch to return to Portal Reloaded, if only to solve one test chamber. It took me awhile to think about it, but I did manage to make it past the 2nd laser puzzle. Next time I play the game I’ll have to see what Test Chamber 15 has in store for me. I want to finish it one of these days to try out the torturous co-op option! 😛

Oh Fuck They Gave Me Lasers…

Made it to Test Chamber 14! I solved one chamber during lunch today on Steam Deck, and another at home! I’m learning about lasers and time, and it’s frying my brains into smoky bacon! Speaking of, if I don’t do the sleep thing soon I’ll wake up to thoroughly smoked bacon brains tomorrow….
