Zoos and Gardening and Cinemas Oh My!

Today in Resonite we paid a visit to a cursed looking zoo map. It had a mix of moving animals, non moving animals, a couple talismans that turned you into animals… and an exhibit for feral lawn chairs. It had quite a bit going on in it.

Then we decided to take up some gardening! We grew tulips, carrots, wheat, and most importantly of all… watermelons. It was a nice relaxing map, the three of us had a good time. Then after we completed all of our farming for the day we went cinema hopping.

We still have a few more cinema maps to explore, but I think we’re on the right track. We watched a couple small videos before calling it a night. I wasn’t even planning on hopping into Resonite today, but when a friend mentioned they were wanting to do some science there it was hard for me to say no.

Resonite is basically a more modern hybrid of VR Chat and Garry’s Mod. I doubt it will fully replace GMod for me, but it does offer unlimited possibilities. So far we’ve been to a zoo, became farmers, went diving for records, visited the cinema and there’s SO MUCH MORE to explore! I’m looking forward to my next excursion! 😀

For The Records

We didn’t mean to spend the entire weekend in Resonite… but here we be! Started off by showing a friend the world where we found the VHS tapes and player, then watched them take it apart to understand how its coded, then we ended the evening by visiting a record store, with working records! I saved some to my inventory to play in my digital home. Found some oldies, new stuff, game soundtracks, and all kinds of other crazy stuff. I’m liking the amount of variety this game offers.

Collisions and a Movie

I’m finding almost anything is possible in Resonite. At one point we took a train down to Black Mesa, then a friend of a friend showed up and sent us on adventures in their TARDIS, then we traveled from world to world and accidentally had a movie night together. We watched The Blob, and found a whole bunch of other movies for next time!

One thing I’ve noticed traveling between different worlds in Resonite is a severe lack of collisions for world objects and fixtures. There was a hotel we visited earlier that had NO COLLISIONS WHATSOEVER. You could walk through walls, fireplaces, desks… why? The only thing fun about it was listening to one of my friends rage about it.

More World Exploration! (Resonite)

We had a small Resonite get together earlier this evening. We explored a few cool worlds, worlds that I would probably enjoy even more in VR. I wish I lived in an area where VR Headsets could be demoed in person. I don’t want to invest hundreds of dollars into a VR Headset if it’s just going to nauseate me. We found a few cool party worlds, a relaxing spa/bath world, a desert oasis and more! I felt like a kid in a candy story as we took turns choosing what worlds looked the most interesting or the most cursed. We all had a good time. 🙂

Total Eclipse Of The Home

Been playing around in Resonite on and off. Today I spent it decorating my digital home, added a working bouncy castle and a couple of other things, nothing major. Then met up with a friend this evening to check out some avatar worlds. Then we went back to my home and made an eclipse happen. It was a fun hour to kill. Maybe next time we’re in we can have a little get together to watch some YouTube vids together. :O

Trying New Things: Resonite

Friend of mine suggested to check out Resonite… so I did!

It’s basically a different type of VRChat game. Only shinier and more customizable. My friend Bong showed me around the worlds, and showcased all kinds of tools you can use in the game! I was thinking on one of these days, when I can find the time, I’ll look into making an avatar or two. You can export models from a multitude of different programs, and it could be fun to make a monstrosity!
