Neon White: First Impressions

Neon White is an epic casserole of FPS, RPG, and platforming wrapped in an anime shell. You play a man that died and went to heaven… sort of. You’re a Neon; a soul that should be sent to hell, but heaven is under attack by demons and you have to compete with other Neons in order to secure a spot in heaven for the one ass destined to sit next to Jeebus or whatever.

I’ve only completed the first mission and a couple of side quests, but I’ve been having fun with it. I’ve been going through and replaying each level over and over again in missions to try and get as many gifts and extras as possible. So far my experience has lived up to all the hype I’ve been reading about. It’s Deck Verified too!

The Self Care Continues

My original plan was to do a livestream tonight (had a lot of fun on Twitch last week and wanted to continue!), but with current circumstances I’ve just been taking care of myself. I still have a knot in my neck, but if I keep popping it I seem to be able to get around better, while my hand/wrist that might be another problem entirely. As I’ve mentioned in some of my more recent posts I’ve been keeping it either wrapped or braced, and I have even gone as far as to switch to my left hand for typical day to day for mouse use to help take the stress off of it.

I was talking with Yutram last night about gaming chairs, and we got on the topic of desks and layouts. He gave me the idea of moving my keyboard to the very top of my desk, outside of the drawer you would ordinarily store your keyboard and mouse in. So far, between the wrappings and placing my keyboard and mouse topside seem to help relieve the tension on my arm. I can use the empty space below now to store small things, like my drawing tablet, tablet tablet when I’m not using it… etc.

Catherine?

Sometimes laughter is the best medicine though– and this series hasn’t let me down yet! Nor has the haptic feedback going into my wrist, that can also be quite therapeutic. This game is doing a good job both entertaining me, making me laugh, and giving me wrist a break… something that Kiryu and co probably wouldn’t let me do right now… not without feeling electricity go through my hand anyway.

Maybe I’ll finish off the night with a bite to eat and maybe a little sake… I have some cherry blossom syrup I want to try with it, and a little bit of alcohol would help loosen up my muscles for a good night’s sleep! 😛

Bearth Day Open Thread

Still lovin’ vacation lyfe! Went on a bit of a roadtrip involving amazing burgers and fresh air, opened awesome presents that I’ll need to write about when I’m not sleepy. I’ve been playing a lot of Japanese games lately; yesterday was a Yakuza: Like a Dragon day, and today I completed a couple of missions on MGSV:TPP! I forgot about the birthday wishes Easter egg, and was reminded after rescuing a prisoner. I’ve also been having fun planting C4 Stuffed animals on any COMMS equipment I pass by, makes for a rewarding distraction! 😛

Oh, and I have a new tablet on the way! Should make for a fun experiment!

Happy Valenginas Day!

I celebrated by drinking orange peach mimosas, eating a fancy breakfast in bed on a rainy day, and playing a game or two. Yutram and I finished conquering Pandora, and are now blasting off to Promethia. I contemplated doing another stream tonight, but figured I would wait for my new equipment to arrive. I have the monitor arriving Wednesday, and I also ordered some lighting equipment for my greenscreen setup. I bought three a ring light as well as two regular lights.

One Trine To Bind Them All

Managed to get a some of video  and audio work done today, would have continued to plug at it but started feeling kinda queasy (even now it’s still coming and going). I’ve also been trying to swing past the post office to send some things off but it’s been hella busy even after election day. I’m hoping tomorrow or the next day things calm down, at least until Black Friday season hits.

As a change of pace I decided to tap into Trine, an extremely addicting physics puzzle adventure game that I received for free quite awhile ago. My thief can shoot three arrows as well as shoot fire arrows to burn enemies or light torches (at the cost of Mana of course), my knight can now charge through crowds of skeletons with a firey blade or a hammer of Knock Off Thor, and my wizard can summon the power of the Illuminati to make a floating platform.

I’ll admit I played longer than I had originally wanted to, but I have a habit of only stopping when I either get tired or finally hit a brick wall giving me the edge to take a break. I just kept on keeping on getting past challenges and tons of skeletons… oh and achievement/trophy hunting! Think I’ve had my fill of being awake for now though, need to see if I can sleep off this sour stomach.

Anime Souls

Maintain six feet ahead of me, or you’re going to maintain six feet under me.

This was one of the many purchases I made during the sale. CODE VEIN is basically Dark Souls with an anime skin, and I’ve really been loving it. It somehow managed to suck 4 hours away from me,and I’m pretty sure the first hour was fucking around with different character options.

Dude where’s my blood beads?

You are reborn as a Reverent; A being that uses Blood Codes which give you different fighting abilities and options. As you play you can pick and choose your play style to be more melee based, mage like, and plenty more to discover. So far in my play through I’ve obtained 4 Blood Codes, and have already maxed three of them out. You go around fighting other Reverent beings, or rather “The Lost” who are Reverent who have become bloodthirsty. You, and people you eventually meet are trying to find more blood beads, which help sustain you and your Reverent buddies. This game is indeed very souls like, with multiple partners to choose from if you want a companion to tag along of either the human or AI variety.

No one pisses off the albino SheDevil and gets away with It… unless they are one powerful muthafucka.

I think I might be a little too addicted to the photo mode. I like games where I can have creative freedom, and one of the things I’ve been digging in later years is photo mode in games; it can make for some wallpaper worthy screencaps.

I’ve been awake for almost 24 hours… this bed looks like porn to me.

So far it has been a real joy to play. I needed to play something tonight to help readjust my sleep pattern, and CODE VEIN managed to keep my intrigue. This might even have to go on the list for games to bring on my gaming laptop. Another thing to scare people with during lunch breaks! I find people are less likely to bug me if they see me stabbing something and pretending it was someone who really pissed me off earlier in my shift.

So far, I would say that if you like Dark Souls and don’t mind anime aesthetics there is a good chance you’ll enjoy this.

In Space No One Can Hear You Shooting Badasses!

We settled on livestreaming some Borderlands Pre-Sequel this evening.I’m not sure why I’m having such an issue streaming and recording at the same time. My GPU isn’t lagging, and my framerate stays above the 100’s usually. The only lag and choppiness I see is on livestream, and if I record or stream separately it seems to do fine. I have more than enough processing and GPU power to handle this older title, the only thing I can think of is this is an NVidia title, and it doesn’t want to comply with my hardware. I’ll have to make sure my OBS settings are fine for recording on the laptop next time…

Other than that I enjoyed a good breakfast, did some overdue tidying, and cleaned my sheets for a good night’s rest.

A Livestream A Day Keeps My Sanity At Bay

Here are a couple:

Last night I had fun losing myself in Skyrim, and tonight I had fun on another lesbian gaycation with best lesbian friend Yutram. We’ve decided to tackle the Commander Lillith DLC again, but with our Sirens instead of Mechronancers. It was either this or Bayonetta for the stream, and co-op sounded more fun.

Far Cry 5: First Impressions

The Evil Twin Of Brad Jones… Making Nostalgia Critic’s The Wall Slightly More Bearable

Sometimes I’ve played games that in one way or another hit really close to home for me, sharing some realism with current times and events. I like games like these because they pose a “what if?” scenario that begs for more questions. The Wolfenstein Series posed the question of what would happen if the Nazi’s won the war? The Bioshock Series gave us a glimpse of what a world run by drug addicts and racist religious zealots would be like, and I won’t even get into the Metal Gear series… we’d be here all night. This game brings you into an area of Montana overrun by religious zealots on steroids called “Peggies” and you have to try and liberate the land after a capture of their cult leader going awry.

This is my first Far Cry game that I’ve played, but so far I seem to be understanding the game mechanics ok. The only part I really had trouble with was the escape part in the truck. Other than that I’ve been having no issues being a stealth killer. :zorak: I’ve already got quite a few hours in, and I seem to have a similar problem with this game that I’ve also shared with Skyrim. There’s so much you can do that it’s easily to get lost in the world. I’ve just been bumming around from place to place, finding interesting ways of killing people from complete stealth to physics based accidents. I even killed a bear with C4 to finish a quest! Truly this game is as American as Apple Pies and bourbon.

I think this is one that I’ll want to stream in the future, but it will have to be Twitch exclusive. It has copyrighted music in it, and unlike YouTube Twitch doesn’t give me copyright bullshit over blurbs of music being played over a radio. I might have to pick back up on this again next week. I’ve taken enough screenshots to at least last the entire week though! :meeseeks:

From what I’ve played so far I highly recommend getting it during a sale like I did. It’s fun, but not full price fun. I’m also wanting to check out New Dawn, heard good reviews on that one.
