Valve is at it again! A TF2 ARG.

If you pop over to the Steam forum’sTF2 section,  you’ll be able to see some interesting pictures from an unknown update currently being called “The Mystery Update” which you can see in this megathread. So far there are banana peels, a goldfish, pocket lint, and a few other choice items.

What could it mean? We’ll keep you posted. For god sakes I should be sleeping…

Valve hires a Economy errrrrr, Manconomy expert.

Not fooling. Valve has hired an economist. Yes, a REAL economist.

It was late at night in October of last year when the strange email arrived. In fact, I only read it by accident and did not delete it by some miracle of fate.

Before the Euro Crisis erupted in 2009, I was just another economics professor, minding my own little theoretical endeavours, writing obscure papers and esoteric books that only a few hundred nutcases around the world (like myself) would ever read, terribly satisfied in my very own academic cocoon. Back then, I would never even imagine not answering an incoming email.

Valve seems to be slightly concerned about a possible imbalance in the Mannconomy for Team Fortress 2. Either way this isn’t something you see everyday. Then again this is Valve we’re talking about.

An easier way for 12 year olds to get money into Steam.

Ever have that random 12 year old come in from any part of the world asking for you to have mercy on them and buy them a cheap game that is soooo cheap that they can’t afford it? Well, in the United States there is a new way to get money into their wallets!

So now American 12 year olds just need to get enough money from mommy and daddy so they can buy garrysmod for example. If you can’t get mom or dad to cough up $9.99 for a game then you’re just not trying hard enough! Oh well, there’s always selling yourself on the street I guess.

NOTE: This seems to only work for US Gamestops. 12 year olds from other countries may vary.
