My Monday Indie Assortment

Whisker Squadron Survivor finally released today! They made the rides longer, and they definitely made the game even harder since the demo. It did take my stats from my demo playthrough and added them onto my character as an added bonus. I haven’t made it to the end of the newer runs yet, but I am looking forward to practicing in my spare time. 🙂 Maybe even live if I’m up to it!

I picked it up in small rail shooter pack that included it and another game called Ex-Zodiac, I’ve only finished the first level so far, but I like it! It brought back memories of playing Star Fox while visiting at some relatives as a kid. I never had a SNES so I couldn’t get into the series – at least we have some indies that can help scratch that itch! If Nintendo doesn’t want my money I’ll give it to the indies, plain and simple. This and Whisker Squadron Survivor were great to play when I needed to take a break from dying constantly in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night!

I didn’t get very far, but I did level up my character, obtained a few permanent health items and even got a couple achievements to add to the collection. Apart from that though I need to git gud at slaying Zangetsu again, and this guy…

The Carpenter clearly is some kind of demon based on his beautiful purple blood. So far my many attempts have yet to stagger him in battle, which tells me it’s time to take a break. Between last night and today I got a little over 1% more completed, and I’m sure I’ll return this again soon – at least within a years time! 😛

Bloodstained Sunday

Hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since I’ve last set foot in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but I made progress! I even found the Oriental Secret Lab just before calling it quits. What little I’ve seen has been beautiful so far, much like the rest of the game. I might even play a bit more on Steam Deck before bed, if only to see a bit more of the lab!

Adventures in Asgard

Had fun with infinite dying in BPM: Bullets Per Minute! It becomes more and more interesting each time you come back to life. I lol’d when I found Space Asgard. It was a great way to blast out a day’s worth of stress and hypertension… I’m glad tomorrow’s my Friday.

Returning To Shadow Warrior in 2023

Enough time has passed since I last completed Shadow Warrior that I’ve decided to revisit it. With only an hour to spare it seemed like a good idea to set myself up for a bit of achievement hunting. I played it on Casual last time, not sure of how difficult it could be. This time I’m jumping into Hard Mode now that I’m a little more seasoned.

I’m also thinking of installing it on my Steam Deck, just to see how it handles… and finish it faster!

Right… This Happened

Let’s see… I got to play Jenga with shipping containers, kill a bunch of aliens, meet with a contact that got blown up by aliens, continued to blow up more aliens, found a MECH WITH A CHAINSAW!!!! then I killed even more aliens. Rinse, repeat.

Overall, a productive evening.

Also, as an added bonus:

Hard as Hades

Made it out of Tartarus during lunch, and got knocked back into the House of Hades when I got home. On the brightside I did make it farther this time! I used the sword. Each time I die I always try some other weapon; so far my faves are the sword and the bow. I hear the shield can do a lot of damage, but my first playthrough with it didn’t go as well as it did with the other weapons. I also recently unlocked a spear, maybe I’ll try that for my next playthrough?
