More Entertainment This Weekend!

If everything goes according to plan I should have this up to view by the weekend! I’m rendering the animations now, and I also have the video thumbnail good to go. I just need to drop in the ending, export, and call it good!

Meanwhile, as everything falls into place; I’ve been combing my hard drives for more video footage to adventure through! I’ve already deleted a few hundred gigs of GMod footage that I won’t be needing (the audio wasn’t setup correctly). I still have a couple hundred gigs of GMod footage to go through, but that’ll have to wait for another day… I’m starting to look at my Serious Sam footage with intrigue, although I already tossed a little over 100GB of video for that.

That just means I’ll have more storage for later. 😀

The Music Of Yakuza

I’ve been listening to songs from the different Yakuza games while working (slowly) on the ending for the Like a Dragon vid. I can’t decide who’s rendition of Machine Gun Kiss I like better, Adachi or Kiryu.

I like both, though Adachi’s rendition has more feeling to it, especially at the very end. It’s also funny because his voice actor in Japanese is the same one who plays Solid Snake. Now I can’t help but imagine what it’d be like for Solid Snake to bust out those dummy thicc notes. 😛

How Sega Stole My Weekend

I recently purchased Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 during one of the recent sales, and I was in a mood to give it a proper play. This is definitely geared towards kids, but the game itself is a fun time killer. It even runs nicely on my Linux Surface Pro. It has 4 player co-op and Steam Remote Play support!

I’ve also been meaning to get back into one of my Japanese Soapland Operas. I spent the rest of tonight just chilling and playing some Yakuza: Like A Dragon. I beat Chapter 6 tonight, and I’m just a little ways into 7. I almost streamed it tonight, but I’ve had a bit of a headache for most of the evening. I really do want to stream something one of these weekends. The question is: Will Twitch ban me for using that weapon? 😛

It Was Gonna Happen Eventually

As a little reward to myself for finishing up the last bit of After Effects production I advanced in one of my fave Japanese Soap Operas (or Soapland Opera? I dunno…). I’ve left off at the start of the Ichiban Senbei quest; I didn’t mean to play as long as I did but, cutscenes… lol

I’ll return to productivity tomorrow. I know I’ll have a Shotcut session awaiting me under Linux tomorrow!

Weekend Open Thread

It’s the weekend! I did a little tidying/rearranging, made a good breakfast, and had a long Yakuza session! I even had a small private audience! I made quite a bit of progress, earned a couple achievements, and overall had a nice relaxing day/evening after a loooooong week of hell.

Open Thread!

It Isn’t A Yakuza Game Without Overgrown Baby Men

Typical Day At Work

I’m not feeling well, and today was a shitty day overall. I needed something to smile at, and once again Ichiban’s Bizarre Adventures haven’t disappointed. My posse knocked the crap out of diaper clad yakuza, and even got a poundmate out of it!

Taking Out The Trash

I’ve also been having fun finding new Sujimon (it’s like Pokemon, but instead of collecting cute anime creatures it’s mostly deranged men in one form or another). One of the Sujimon I discovered tonight is called a Pseudotrash:It was a nice little escape. I might need to play a little more this weekend! I’d like to try and do more animating tomorrow, assuming my body and mood cooperate.

Embrace The Sentai

Today was a day for recovering my own personal stamina, and part of that was just relaxing and continuing my adventures in Yakuza: Like A Dragon. I discovered Dragon Kart! I also fed my party several lunches after collecting more menacing men for my sujidex… god I love the craziness this game provides. There is just something satisfying about taking down a party of five asshats with one good piece of lumbar, or flaming bad breath… or pigeons. I also accidentally pelted an orange traffic cone at a random pedestrian. Gotta love the physics engine! 😛

The Self Care Continues

My original plan was to do a livestream tonight (had a lot of fun on Twitch last week and wanted to continue!), but with current circumstances I’ve just been taking care of myself. I still have a knot in my neck, but if I keep popping it I seem to be able to get around better, while my hand/wrist that might be another problem entirely. As I’ve mentioned in some of my more recent posts I’ve been keeping it either wrapped or braced, and I have even gone as far as to switch to my left hand for typical day to day for mouse use to help take the stress off of it.

I was talking with Yutram last night about gaming chairs, and we got on the topic of desks and layouts. He gave me the idea of moving my keyboard to the very top of my desk, outside of the drawer you would ordinarily store your keyboard and mouse in. So far, between the wrappings and placing my keyboard and mouse topside seem to help relieve the tension on my arm. I can use the empty space below now to store small things, like my drawing tablet, tablet tablet when I’m not using it… etc.

Catherine?

Sometimes laughter is the best medicine though– and this series hasn’t let me down yet! Nor has the haptic feedback going into my wrist, that can also be quite therapeutic. This game is doing a good job both entertaining me, making me laugh, and giving me wrist a break… something that Kiryu and co probably wouldn’t let me do right now… not without feeling electricity go through my hand anyway.

Maybe I’ll finish off the night with a bite to eat and maybe a little sake… I have some cherry blossom syrup I want to try with it, and a little bit of alcohol would help loosen up my muscles for a good night’s sleep! 😛

Pain Management & Yakuza

I haven’t played a game since my last livestream, and my neck/shoulder/hand still hasn’t let up. Fortunately, Yakuza: Like a Dragon doesn’t require a bunch of movement from my hands, just some button presses on a controller for the most part. I made a little progress, and the only real workout I experienced was riding a bicycle to obtain cans. I’m having fun with it!

I’ve been being good; doing my stretches, switching to my left hand at the computer and researching gaming chairs, a back massager, and I’ve already got an ergonomic mousepad with a gel wrist on its way. I’m still on the lookout for a new mattress… only been able to find a twin, too small for my ass. I’ve added padding to the bed to make up enough of the difference to last me for the time being. Hopefully I start to see some results, so far that pinch has shown no sign of going away.

I’m still waiting to hear back on my MRI appointment; it’s going to be a few hours out of town, but even traveling makes it cheaper than going to any local hospital… On the bright side I can at least sit down at the dinner table without having to lie down on the ground to get the pressure to go away.
