Yep… This still happens at the MOUL forums.

You know, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen any severe moderating over at the MOUL forums, then again they haven’t exactly been the liveliest. This, however was brought to my attention.

They were referencing this thread which apparently got deleted, revived, deleted then revived again? Why? I don’t know. All that was mentioned was a slight difference in jumping after the latest update.

After reading this I already knew this wasn’t going to end well…

Alien wrote:NOTE TO MODS : Please do not delete this thread or any posts in it, such action will result in me taking the matter higher.
The subject matter is about threads / posts being deleted, and deleting posts or the thread will only aggravate the situation further

First things first. It helps to know how to be an administrator of your home forum before going around telling people what they can do on theirs. Otherwise what can be seen as standing up for someone will actually be seen as the pot calling the kettle black. There are better ways of doing this, but on the MOUL forum every potential way will be incorrect if it references a closed thread. That’s just the way it is unfortunately…

Alien wrote:OK, fair enough, but I’d still like to address the issue of threads and / or posts being deleted with no explanation.
With regards to Christine’s and my threads, we both (and I am sure Christine won’t mind me speaking for her this one time), we both feel they were deleted unfairly. Not getting an explanation just added insult to injury.

All I have to say to this is: Welcome to the official MOUL forums. 🙂

Now a word from the person who was moderated:

Isobel wrote:Yes, it would be nice to receive some notice as to what i said that warranted deletion. If a long time explorer can’t make a criticism without being deleted like this (when i know others share the same concern), it makes me despair for the future of MOULa.

Then semplerfi comes in and basically points out “SSDD”

semplerfi wrote:This is not going to happen and this thread will disappear shortly. There is a Moderator that does not have to follow the forum rules. We have been trying to get this addressed for years around here to no avail. Chogon will say that Cyan lets the mods interpret & enforce the rules as they (mods) see fit. The last time the community tried to get this address we lost great two interns and the moderater is still killing dialog on the forum.
Isobel wrote:And is very close to making a long time explorer (and donater) find somewhere where she is appreciated, but i guess that is no big deal?

At this point I think the Team Fortress 2 section of the Steam forums is far friendlier…

Now coming to a close, we see the thread wasn’t “veralun’d”, rather it was “Mac Attacked”

Mac_Fife wrote:Ok, I’m presuming that the post in question is this one: http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic. … 674#386674

I’ve looked into this and can find no evidence that the post was ever removed. By “removed” I mean “hidden from view” because the moderators don’t delete posts except in very rare circumstances. I can’t see any history on this but as a new thread it may have been merged into a pre-existing, current thread on the same subject (which can cause some links that use thread IDs instead of post IDs to “lose” it) and then moved back, but so far as I can tell it was never anywhere other than where it is now.

No moderator/user logs phpBB2 FTW.

Mac_Fife wrote:Before people start accusing moderators of doing things, it would probably be courteous to PM one of the mods and ask: The forum policies still prohibit public disputation of moderation – see Policy VII – so I’m now going to lock this thread.

Yes, PM the mods and ask them what you may have done wrong. Because they sure as hell aren’t going to be the ones to PM you… Believe me, I learned that from the time I was wrongfully banned from the MOUL forum.
