I have two more SFM renders to do and I’ll be finished with all animations for Part 2. Then comes rendering the image sequences and then arranging them appropriately for the final product. I already have Part 1 in the can, and there’s a good chance I’ll be able to finish it tomorrow, or at the very least come close. Tomorrow will be the last day of vacation, already having to take deep breaths to mentally prepare myself for what hell lies in my wake. I’ll have to remind myself to prepare my work clothes (which are pretty much a random and some jeans), a meal bar and to brew my work tea… I’m thinking something with red berries, or maybe an island fruit spiced one.
Animation
Meanwhile… somewhere in the Overlord’s imagination
I had a late sleep in for the first time in what feels like an eternity. It stormed a bit today, which for me is natures’ white noise machine. I stayed in my imagination and got some work done. I compiled some animated clips, and I’m getting ready to add some finishing polish to another scene before exporting an image sequence, and I am in need of some warmth at the moment… who needs heating when you have a super computer? I might even have SFM export another sequence while I sleep… just to get some extra work done.
Well Windows, you’re still somewhat needed after all…
My choice of fire particles doesn’t seem to want to render properly under Proton, which means I’ll have to do my final render under Windows, oh well… at least I can do all the prep work under Linux beforehand.
Lifestyles of the Digital and Imaginary
I had a productive semi-painless work day. Did a little more script writing, and then went off to building the next stage for future videos. Sometimes a change of scenery is nice, this will be where I do my livestreams. I wanted a more comfy scene, as streaming for my friends reminds me of the days of old when having friends over for video games and vice versa. I still have some models to spawn, such as our own chosen characters, controllers, and maybe some other household items that come to mind. If anyone has suggestions I’d like to hear them. :melon:
I’ve also finally gotten around to putting in some time off for myself. I doubt I’ll go anywhere, but I need about a week to myself for some rest. When I start having nightmares about being late for work, or being unable to leave it I know bad things will happen if I don’t try to get some proper R&R in. I’ll need it after next week… Oh god I saw my schedule, and I might actually go insane. Split days off and three graveyard shifts for my class starting at 10pm… I can’t complain too much since I do normally get two days off in a row together (one of the few perks I have left until that gets taken away), but I do hope it goes back to normal afterwards. No one needs to hear me break into insanity again… unless we’re filming it. :rick:
I have my work cut and paste out for me
Sorry for lack of postings. Work has been making me feel worn over death lately, even doing my other after work activities. My new sound card arrived yesterday! I’m probably going to have a busy weekend with that, a video release and a few other things. I sorted through my video collection, and have an idea of what I need to collect more footage for, and what to work on next. What I can now prep for release are (these are in no particular order btw):
- Brain4Dead (Releasing Sunday)
- Freedom Planet (A stream from long ago… BACK WITH ANIMATION!)
- Linux Gaming Video
- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Finale
- Skyrim (More recent stream)
- NIGHT’S Into Dreams (Surprisingly)
- Left 4 Dead 2 Run with Yutram and his roommate with my own assortment of mods.
Then I have other project folders that don’t have enough content yet for me to produce:
- Broforce
- Okami
- Serious Sam HD Second Encounter
- Serious Sam 3
- Garry’s Mod Tour Of The Whitehouse
- Fallout 4
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
It will probably be a little while before I put anything out. I’m thinking I’ll spend tomorrow going through a few projects, writing down ideas for the next videos. I’m not entirely about the MGR one, mainly because the previous ones I’ve put out don’t have any animation to them other than goofy additions I added to the videos in general. I’m not sure if I should continue it in my current style, or go back and redo the others. For now I think I’ll start off on one of the other ones, like Freedom Planet possibly.
Getting close to the final chapter
Well, it took almost a week, but the animation portion is all finished for the Brain4Dead finale! I’ll begin splicing it into the rest of the video tomorrow. I won’t be releasing it until next Monday though, the extra bits of polishing I need to do will make me miss my targeted Monday deadline. I also managed to take a break from animating to play a little Left 4 Dead 2 with a friend and his roommate. We made it through the campaign, and I may have more video fodder down the line.
Today was a good hobby day. We have a bad storm outside that has been pretty much been going on for over 24 hours. and I’ve been lounging, drinking some flowering oolong and enjoying some Mushu soup and some roast teriyaki pork and rice. It was leftovers from two previous dinner nights, but worked well together in smaller portions to make what seemed like a larger oriental meal. I might take the leftover pork tomorrow and make a homemade soba soup bowl for myself.
Lifeflight
This was pretty much what I worked on today in SFM… I’m working on one hell of a scene at the moment and I’m not even half way through it yet! I have ti finish animating Yutram and myself the rest of the way PLUS another special guest.
We should really do something about these random office intrusions…
Right on queue
I finished my project last night! I’ll be releasing it tomorrow as planned, and have also done some prep work for Episode 3. I’m hoping to release it next Monday, but we’ll see… My To Do List for that particular episode build isn’t as large as the previous two, and that’s mainly because the pool map in that entire campaign has to be the most entertaining.
Since I was already in Windows working in Source Filmmaker I decided to take a break and end the evening with some Yakuza 0. I haven’t played much of anything lately apart from whatever I can get away with during a lunch break, and according to my stats on Steam most of my time has been spent animating. All work and no play makes me a dull Overlord, and playing this gives me something else to write about. I’m really liking the game so far, quite a stress release. I’ll admit I was surprised by the Karaoke mini game; I’m about as good at karaoke in the game as I am in real life… I’ve never played a Yakuza title before, but I think I’m going to enjoy this. I like punching simulators… in fact this is reminding me that I still need to check out that MGR mod that replaces the sword with fists. I want to see how far I can get by punching my way through the entire game! I wonder if I should stream it…
Find the strange
Had a quiet evening to myself. I contemplated taking a nap, but ended up feeling the need to shed my creativity into the current video project, and when creative juices are ready to flow you’re a fool to hold them back. I should have a video come Monday, though I’ll have it done sooner if I have time tomorrow. I have one more thing to do in SFM and everything else can be finished up in Shotcut. This one scene I was animating tonight… I kept dying as I was trying to animate it. I had Yutram do his best Batman impression with some improv behind it, and it’s so stupidly amazing… my animation is ok as normal.
I’ll also need to take time to possibly make a meal ideas in order for Saturday. Not sure if I’ll do French, Italian, or something random.
The Batman Has Left The Building
I finally have some footage rendering! I’ll have one more separate session to animate and export, and then I’ll be able to create my next disasterpiece.
