The Overlord Uses Imagination: It is SUPER EFFECTIVE

Got more animating done tonight, enough to render some footage. I’ll have one separate scene to render and then I can continue the rest of my work in Shotcut, and hopefully release it tomorrow or sometime later in the week. It was fun to work on, so many ideas pouring in as I was working on animations. It’s amazing what happens when you’re chillaxin’ like a bawler and listening to you and your friend going on about stupid shit in a game, and you take this unstaged mess and turn it into some form of entertainment for lack of a better term. I think some of my inspiration comes from those old SNL TV Funhouse skits, where they took real audio and animated a cartoon around it, adding as much ridiculousness as possible… and I’m someone who loves to deal in ridiculousness. :melon:

I’m thinking I might relax in bed and play a little Crash Bandicoot before knocking off for the night. I haven’t really played much of anything these last few days, animating takes time, among other things that require my attention. :melon:

By The Seven McNuggets Of Cerberus We Transport!

I’ve been working on my next video over the last couple of days, and as I keep continuing I get more ideas such as this particular scene. What is happening in this scene is anyone’s guess. I still have a ways to go, and this is going to be a multi part video series due to the amount of really good moments, so I’ll have my work cut out for me on this one.

I’m not sure how much I’ll get done tomorrow. I have a full work day ahead of me tomorrow, and I’m volunteering to make dinner tomorrow night. Hopefully I’ll remember to take a picture before I eat my plate first. :zorak: I’m contemplating some Shrimp Chow Mein and a Chinese Tomato Salad. We’ve been eating lots of comfort food and it would be nice to have something light on the palette. I’ll be making my grocery list and heading to bed soon.

I do have a three day weekend at least, so I’m sure I’ll get something accomplished.

What in god’s name have I done?

Just Like Geralt!

For quite a few things I usually have to extract models from Garry’s Mod Workshop to place into SFM, and I wanted this particular version of Geralt for an image I was making. I’m not sure why but no matter what I did the torso just didn’t want to give up its ultimate bromance with Geralt’s neck. That’s ok… I didn’t want to sleep tonight anyway!

I did work on another video tonight (the above image doesn’t reflect on it in any way, this was just some last minute brainfart that needed to be expelled) and managed to get a scene done. I’ll probably continue onto the next one after I get off work tomorrow. I’m looking forward to this particular one, its a Left 4 Dead campaign Yutram and I played not too long ago, and there is enough footage for me to make quite a few fun videos. I contemplated on making one large video instead, but I find keeping things short for a short attention span world.

If you want this carry weight you’ll have to put a ring on it!

I worked on cutting footage from last night’s broadcast this morning, still have a ways to go in getting it cleaned up and I might even have to split it into two videos. Then I took a break from that and did some work in Source Filmmaker; Yutram was kind enough to spend a couple of days porting a ring he made for me in Skyrim to Source.

Somewhere down the line it will make an appearance in future videos, though probably not right away. Instead I’ll share a sneak peek of what I’m working on!

I’m not going to explain what the hell is going on in this shot, nor will I divulge what game Yutram and I were playing when we decided to get down with our bad selves. Any guesses are welcome. :melon:

More content in the pipeline

Surprisingly we had another nice sunny day today, though still a bit balmy… I finished video project #3, animation and everything. I can’t wait to release this one, probably one of my favorites so far due to some particular scenes.

I experimented with Source Filmmaker under Linux via Proton, and I’m both amazed and disappointed. For the most part it works! But you can only export in AVI and much like under Windows it’s just as broken and requires Quicktime (or Quicktime Alternative) in order for it to export as an mp4. I couldn’t seem to figure out how to get around it, or even any information on the subject, which is a shame because as far as running the application things went smoothly.

I guess that means I’m caught up on editing video footage for now… I’ll probably record more tomorrow. 😛

There is a video on the way… eventually.

I decided to be productive-ish and work on a video I’ve been meaning to finish (I also made homemade mac n cheese, it was gooood). I’m still not close to being done, maybe 1/4th of the way if anything. But I want this to be more than just a “lets play”. I said earlier this month that I wanted to add character representations of myself (and others if available) into my future projects instead of just doing straight recordings. To whet some appetites I did take make a couple pics to share.

ProjectOsiris

I have a little more of “myself” to animate, but I have over half of THAT portion done. Then it’s onto Yutram and DG who will be easy in the sense that they have limbs to operate but no face. Which compliments my character who is all eye and no body, but that’ll change for a couple seconds later into the video. I experimented with cloaking and particles to make a magical transformation scene.

ProjectOsiris2

As clearly detailed by that picture, I’m morphing from one ball into two balls. Actually once the video is done you’ll be able to see what model those two balls belong to… Heh, don’t worry. It’s not like that at all. I mean c’mon, this isn’t RedTube.

Sunday Morning Open Thread

Haven’t posted in a few days, been a bit melancholy about a couple things I’d rather not talk about. So mainly I’ve been sorting through my things, playing some games trying to bury it in the back of my head.

During my cleanup session in Source Filmmaker I unearthed a mocap test animation that I never used. It was one where I experimented with locking items (a hat in this case) to a model before adding the animation.

Here it is:

I’ll need to setup some time to do some serious animations… well, as serious as my personality will allow.
