In my happy place.

It rained for most of the day. I worked for awhile on the thumbnail for an upcoming video this Sunday, and also did some creative writing for another one in the works. Having all of this time off means going to bed when I want, and going to bed when I want means I can stay up later. Staying up later somehow brings out my purist creativity… that and other things that I have deemed my muse. The weather might be preventing me from doing many outdoor activities, but it’s nice to decompress regardless.

I saw the trailer for Borderlands 3. I’m hella hyped! I also saw pre-orders for the new Wolfenstein game. The price is low enough that I might consider it… I have until July to decide. I’ve enjoyed the games despite some mechanical flaws with New Order and Old Blood, then again this is still Beth Esda we’re talking about…

For a friend

I made another surprise for my co-worker male Bayonetta friend:

I’ve found (long before the Bayonetta incident at work) that he looks quite similar to John Egbert (or even Jake English) from the webcomic series Homestuck. I changed the shirt logo to show a Twitch logo as he does Twitch streaming. I think I’ll bring this in tomorrow morning in my latest attempt to scar him for life. :v:

For my fellow tea drinkers

Everything from the color of the tea, to the teabag, and to the presentation are just all kinds of awesome. :meeseeks:

The tea is a natural blue due to use of the butterfly pea. Plus the tea has both peppermint and spearmint making it both look and taste refreshing. Someday I will have to order it, at the moment I’ll get by on my flowering green tea. :meeseeks:

Nice melons

I’d like to aim my spotlight at a friend of mine (Vamps): She’s been doing some excellent cross-stitching, and was inspired to make this beauty:

Coincidentally there is a discord I chill in that adopted a similar emote in my honor. It’s spreading like watermelon seeds!

Thank you! The world needs more melon love.

The gift was a success

Awhile back I mentioned a conversation I had with a co-worker that ended up leading to me creating the above picture. I had it printed out as an 8×10 photo and framed it, then I wrapped it and hid it in our stockroom for him to find. Needless to say he had a good laugh, in fact I was surprised he didn’t fall on the floor. I think it sent some good vibes, we both had a relatively good day. Now I just need to hope he doesn’t attempt giftvengeance. :zorak:  That’s a word now, I’ve decided. :v:

Other than that I’ve taken to cleaning my bedding so that I can just relax for the weekend. I’m tired enough that I should be careful to not sleep through to Tuesday… I’ve been fighting my eyes with toothpicks for hours now. I think I’m only operating on 4 hours of sleep? I’m surprised I can even type right now. It almost feels like I’m typing this without thinking, like I could be president or something. :morty:

The Selfie Statue… It’s a thing

Brought to us by good ol Texas!

Some residents of Sugar Land, Texas, say they’ve been left with a bitter taste in their mouths after a city-approved selfie statue was recently erected outside City Hall.

Not so sweet, eh?

The selfie statue and another statue, of a seated man playing a guitar, cost an estimated $32,500 combined, including $10,000 for installation, according to the agenda. Along with four lesser-valued pieces, the statues cost $77,660. The cost of the entire 10-piece collection was unclear. It is also unclear how much money was donated.

To be fair, the statues do look extremely well done including the selfie one… I can understand the other statues though, the selfie one I don’t get. But meh, everything’s bigger in Texas… Including Selfie Stupidity.

Early Morning Open Thread Of Openess

Encountered one of the guys who is really interested in getting together with me. He tried to get my facebook information so that he could keep in contact and was rather disappointed when I revealed that I don’t do social media. He couldn’t believe a “tech savvy” person would have no interest in facebook because y’know… I guess you have to be smart to use facebook, right? That’s why it’s common for facebook users to friend their bosses or employees and post stupid shit that ends up getting them fired. Yeah, smart people.

Then he tried to get my email address, which I don’t give out either. A week ago he tried to get me to enter my phone number into his cellphone… Him (and his father who he pals around with) are new to town, and don’t really have anything to do around here because it’s a small town. So they hang out in the store everyday and follow employees around (including me), sometimes making multiple trips. Whenever I have a day off I don’t go shopping or anything. I go for walks, go to an occasional party with friends or just keep to myself. He keeps asking me where I’ve been during my days off as if I’ve been avoiding him, then passes it off as a joke and tells me not to get flustered…

He seems like a nice kid, but as I’ve said before I don’t really hang out with customers. Hell I rarely have time to hang out with my friends who happen to be employees. Plus I’m too busy coming up with my own stuff to do. Like today I chatted with my international buddies, tidied up a bit, drank tea and tested out my new costume pieces. So far I’m happy with the results! I also got my paints in the mail today so next time I’m ready I’ll be able to do some painting on my mask. So far for the costume I have:

A mask (that needs to be painted and strapped)
A bandana
A hooded cape
A wig

When I’m done with this I’m gonna freak out soooo many people at Halloween time. I know at least two or three people that’ll get the joke. Even if people don’t get it (since it involves the gaming universe in a way) it’ll still be fun to dress up as something original.

Help an awesome girl with an awesomely groovy project.

A good friend of mine from the Slackers forums has a cool daughter attempting to make a super special awesome kickstarter project called “The Beaded Body”

I’m super excited to get going on this sculpture. I’ll use off-loom beadweaving techniques with a needle and thread to weave a complete covering in beads from around the world onto a life-size female form. I see this project as the first in a series of beaded human figures.

Here’s a pic of the miniature model I’m working on to demonstrate the process. The finished model will be a reward!

Depending on how much you donate they also have some cool prizes! Check out the kickstarter for details!
