The shipment was taken off the truck and, upon a closer look, officers discovered a seedy situation: 1,220 packages of methamphetamine, wrapped in paper and painted two shades of green to mimic a watermelon.
It’s official. Cocaine Watermelons will now be a thing.
I made my first poll on Mastodon! Since I’ve been getting some engagement over in the land of John Mastodon – I’ve decided to experiment with a bit of a poll. It already has a couple of votes, we’ll see what the final results are tomorrow evening! Giving me enough time to start my weekend!
My first day off always seems to be the day that I just chill and try to collect my myself. I passed out early enough last night that I woke up to a beautiful sunrise! Enjoyed some brunch, did a couple chores, and even had time to render the first part of my upcoming animated video! That gave me some time to play a couple games on Steam Deck while rendering. Got my ass trounced in Bayonetta, and I gave myself motion sickness in Overload. I guess this is my punishment for time traveling back to the early 90’s to make progress on one of the many games I never finished. Goals, we all have them.
Enjoyed the first bit of relaxing in bed for 2023, and the first breakfast of 2023 and my first private spa day of 2023! I’m decompressed enough to tackle more tomorrow.
Here’s hoping 2023 won’t be the 3rd DLC installment of 2020!
Probably not this weekend, but one of the next ones I plan to get my own Mastodon instance up and running. I’ll slowly start prepping in between then, getting the VM setup, etc. I’m sure there will be growing pains, but in a way that’s half the fun! This weekend will probably be some rendering and a little partying! I need to get my brain off of some work related drivel. After tomorrow I won’t have to worry about any morons until next year.
After accidentally sleeping for 11 hours – I had enough energy to get everything together for tomorrow! Package is ready, clothes are laid out, got some after holiday cleaning done. Now I’m enjoying a strawberry shortcake scented fucking candle before bed. It was a nice, quiet day. The sun even decided to come out! I almost forgot what it looked like.
I’ve been making an effort to get my holiday shopping done ASAP, locally and online. There are going to be some happy faces by the time I’m through getting everything sorted! Some of them probably aren’t even expecting it! I made a few new friends at work this year (and got better acquainted with some older ones) and I wanted to brighten up their holiday! Because Bob only knows there are so many trippin’ balls to take it all away.
I still have a few things more to get, but I’m pretty much 85% of the way to the finish line.
I’ve been keeping tabs on Mastodon for the last week, and so far I’ve been enjoying it! They rolled out an update yesterday that allows you to translate a foreign post (or toot! as they call it) with the press of a button! Now I can understand what people around the world are saying, whether it be someone from Japan wanting to chill, or if it’s someone in Mexico questioning if potatoes are more fattening than bread. You do have the option of only allowing certain languages, but I’m fine with all of them active. It’s interesting to see perspectives from around the world, and it shows me there’s a bigger picture.
I’m still planning on building my own instance. It will not be open to the public to join, but those who are allowed will still be seen by the other instances if they so choose. I’ve been seeing instances get temp blocked for having too many asshats join up just to be asshats until the admins get their instances under control.
In the meantime I have been experimenting with a new plugin that will allow me to automatically cross post to Mastodon. I’ve only used it once, it seems to work for now. The only thing it doesn’t post is an image from a blog post, but other than that it’ seems to work right out of the box. I might look more into other plugins once I get my instance up and running, give the devs time to update their plugins.
It’s been fun, but now I have to mentally prepare for the battlefront tomorrow. My Steam Deck is ready, clothes are selected, a shopping list planned, and other shit to slog through. It was nice to cool the engines for a bit, my creative side appreciates it!
Before starting my weekend I stocked up on some emergency food on the off chance I didn’t have enough energy to make something from scratch. One of the things I bought was Poha: a flattened rice dish seasoned with turmeric, nuts and dried fruit (a common breakfast dish in India). I made some with some chai and toasted naan, and that gave me the energy to get some work done! One of these weekends I might have to try making my own Poha from scratch! It doesn’t seem to differ from other rice dishes in terms of difficulty.
I also had the pleasure of trying Oolong Chai over the weekend! Just when I thought I’ve had the full rainbow of chai I stumble upon it when going to order some Green Chai. Next thing I know I have ALL OF THE CHAI arriving on my door step a couple days later, and I finally had a weekend to enjoy it in fullest detail. 😀
All in all – I’m ready to greet the week tomorrow, at least until I won’t be. 😛
