The Melons Of Summer

It’s officially the season of the watermelon! I’m thinking of buying something watermelon related this weekend to celebrate my first weekend of summer. The weather has been pretty comfortable these last couple of days, perfect iced tea sippin’ weather, and not hot enough to put off video progress! I haven’t decided if I’ll cram some video work in over the weekend or not… I did get quite a bit done in tonight’s sitting, the clip I’m currently working on is going to be about 25 seconds long. I think it’ll depend on how much I can complete tomorrow. Sadly this project has no watermelons in it, but it will have explosives!

Evil Weekend Plotting

I’m already mentally planning my weekend. It’ll probably be a mix of leisure and accomplishment… or accomplishing leisure? I can at least promise myself a special breakfast… I’m thinking Chinese. It’ll give me an excuse to make some sauces that I haven’t made in what feels like an eternity and a half. I can make it a day where I migrate between the kitchen and gaming in the living room if I have the place to myself.

I need a little zen over the weekend to make up for a week of donkey dicks.

Self Care: Floor Pillow Edition

One of the items from my weekend shopping spree arrived yesterday. I bought a zafu, or a meditation cushion for sitting on the floor. Meditation isn’t something I practice (unless it’s sideways), but I do sit on the floor sometimes, and my back has been complaining whenever I sit on the ground for too long. It also does a good job adding to the room as a decorative floor pillow.

I’m not sure if I have the patience to meditate in a serious manner. I just know the moment that I close my eyes my mind will wander to the dark unknown… kinda like the weird part of YouTube.

A Calming Post

Been getting serious about meditating a little more lately. I thought I’d share more of Dr Chuck Tingle’s meditation tapes, they can be very calming… totally gets me in the right frame of mind before work.

Thankfully he has a PHD in holistic massage, apparently you can get those at Devry.

The Return Of Me

Greetings! I’m not dead yet! At least at the time of posting this.

I survived my first work week, just have one more week of vampiring at work, and things will be back to normal… well, as far as normal for me is concerned. In the meantime I think I finally got myself to start functioning properly again… shifting my sleep cycle caused me a bit of jet lag. I also wasn’t getting enough hydration, or eating enough. I just didn’t have an appetite, it was like my stomach was in another timezone still. My head was so clouded that I couldn’t even really work on my current animation project for the first half of the week; fortunately I spent the last couple of days crafting more glorious nightmare fuel. Sadly that will have to wait for another post. A lot has happened over the last few days that I would looooove to write about, and all of this shit can get its own post.

Back pain has also been another distraction… my lower back has been giving me shit since Tuesday. It isn’t as terrible now, but I’ve been having to apply a lot of heat and massage to be somewhat functional. I think I need to invest in a better chair, the padding on this one has already gone flat unfortunately, and I guess that means I have to invest in my ass a little more… literally.

Anyway’s, onto my weekend shenanigans: The Stanley Parable Redux kept me laughing deep into the night. More of that for a later blog post, but I can already say if you liked the original game you haaaaaaave to buy it! I’m not even through all of the new content yet, but what I’ve played so far made me laugh deep into the night. But now that night has turned to bright, and for me to take a rest for now. I’ll need all the energy I can get to beat my latest blog streak… made it over 55 or 56 days and got my ass handed to me by graveyard jet lag… Oh well, always nice to have a goal I guess.

And Now… The Weather

Winter hasn’t quite loosened its grasp here in town. It’s April, and I’m tired of having to dress in layers for work. I woke up this morning and it was 1C outside, made it difficult to want to get out of bed.  These temperatures seem to get colder and colder every year. I guess it’s not nearly as bad as a fire, but I wouldn’t mind if we could raise the temp back up juuuuuust a bit.

Of course tomorrow will be my Friday, and I have a few plans for staying warm that are both fun and could possibly involve something edible — like something resembling a food substance.

This post was brought to you by several keystrokes.
