Spooktober Gaming!

It’s October! It’s my weekend! It’s time to play some spooky shit, well… at least by Portal 2 standards. I was thinking to myself that I haven’t really played any Portal 2 in awhile, and kinda wondered if there was a good selection of Halloween mods I could download. Surprisingly I found quite a few different maps varying from challenging to interactive shitpost tours.

I’ve only played a few out of the handful that I downloaded from the workshop; they had more than enough content to keep me busy this evening, and plenty more when I can be arsed to return to it. It’s nice to have the holiday option!

Steam allows you to stream games now.

Woke up to a bunch of people on my friends list talking about the new Steam Broadcasting feature that allows you to stream your gameplay. So I spent a good portion of the evening streaming various games. It seems to work with Direct X and OpenGL, but sadly no MSDOS.

This is currently in the steam client beta if anyone wants to check it out. To my knowledge it works on Windows 7 and 8. If you’re on Windows Vista it’s not available, and I’m not sure about Linux and Mac but they’re probably not supported either for this beta.

So, looks like I might have to look into doing some streaming for myself. 🙂 Then you can see how horrible I am. 😛

…I’ve spoken with hundreds, if not thousands, of men and women. And in doing so, I’ve accidentally stumbled upon a subculture of men who’ve told me, in no uncertain terms, that they’re never getting married. When I ask them why, the answer is always the same.

Women aren’t women anymore.

This explains EVERYTHING about me.

Ladies are not ladies! Men are still men, but they are sad menz who don’t want to get married! This war is ON.

Looks like just another excuse for men to sleep with other men…. or livestock.

I recommend reading the entire thing for a good set of lulz.

Vacation day 2 and onto 3

Well, yesterday I managed to get my mother her own blog. Now she can understand the joys of the blogosphere. I also managed to get my CS:GO server running metamod and sourcemod after some answered questions. Now I just have to make a fancy MOTD!

On another note, tonight for my late night dinner I basically took every Italian looking thing in the fridge (kalamata olives, roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes etc) and chopped them up to be cooked and tossed with some noodles. It was lazy but damn was it fucking good.

Guess I’ll sleep now so I won’t miss my hair appointment.

Early Morning Open Thread

Garry recently fixed Garrysmod servers for Linux (w00t no more segfaults!) so I have that back online now. Been trying to figure out why the fuck it doesn’t load other gamemodes though. I’m trying to run elevator source and all I can get running is the map itself. gamemode stays at sandbox no matter what I do. This will require more research.

On another note I won a couple auctions today! Got a ThermalTake Frio and a Radeon HD 6950 coming in the mail. Once those come in I’ll play with some overclocking on my i5 2500k. Did some Portal 2 with BOD. We’re good at science! And by good I mean we didn’t know what we were doing! But we made it through last years DLC. Kinda sad because I played it before with Yutram, only once though. Old memory and all that jazz.

Did some more script writing tonight. Thought I got myself stuck in a corner but managed to find a way around it. I’ll go sleep on it a bit and see if I can come up with anymore mindfuckery.

Got my mind off of work a bit tonight. Went for a walk through town today and visited a couple thrift stores. Bought some nice belts and a rose pattern silk scarf. Played some TF2 tonight and won a few oddball items. Among them was a hat for the spy worth $12.99 known as the Cosa Nostra Cap. So I guess tonight wasn’t entirely bad. Plus for what it’s worth I made some coconut rice pudding with banana, plus did some filming in Uru for my next upcoming SNews project. It’ll be along the lines of short and funny.

AT LAST I CAN GET STARTED!!!

Played some L4D2 tonight and finally decided I had enough material to get started. It felt so good writing up a script. This time I wasn’t alone either because my good friend Yutram and I are teaming up and working together. I’m only getting started and am feeling really good about this.

Now to call it a morning, pick out my work clothes and go to sleep. Tonight was a good night.
