So I decided to do something different and check out another server tonight. I think something was wrong with it. There were no bots there and I was kicking everyone’s ass. I even made the top 3 winners list at the top each time. Didn’t lose a single match. 🙂 I probably stumbled upon the lost tomb of an00bis where all the new people play.
Saturday Morning Open Thread
Schedules were rewritten today, I got cut so terribly that I’m being sent back to the bakery for two days next week. All of this was done without me being told too. The only brightside here is that I’m at least making more money now. It also means another short work week for me and more time on my hands.
I’ve actually been contemplating a vlog again via SFM, the question is what to talk about. If anyone has any suggestions they’re always welcome.
Dinner was interesting tonight. I came home to some Thai pizza and Thai stirfried noodles. Tasted pretty good actually. Didn’t make any chai to go with it as I would be bouncing around the house due to it’s sweetness. So I’m enjoying some lemon ginger.
Friday is my Monday Open Thread
I pretty much loafed around yesterday. Day off, balmy weather, nothing but tea at my disposal. All was calm on the western front.
For the hell of it I decided to look up old versions of windows tonight on youtube, because anything before 3.11 I never saw when I was a kid. Either way I came upon this interesting video (which is only interesting if you’re as nerdy as I am).
They managed to upgrade from Windows 1.0 to Windows 7 while still keeping quite a bit of the legacy items from 1.0. I was also impressed at how it kept the custom color settings from 2.0 up until the XP upgrade.

Ok, for those of you who were wondering what the password protected post was about, it was a Serious Sam recording I did for the “Just a gaming blog YouTube channel.” Since linking it through steam didn’t let them download it properly, I had to send them a link to some place where they could save the link target. I also figured while I was at it I would fuck with the people who read this blog. 😛 Mission accomplished!
Anyways work was boring tonight. The only excitement I had was offering fashion advice. Yes, me giving fashion advice. I had a couple of ladies ask me opinions about tops and purses. The purse one had to be weird. This lady was trying to choose between two plastic totes and wanted to know which one looked more expensive (because cheap plastic tote bags look REAL fancy) and I had to come up with something to say. Having watched improv almost my whole life has given me the ability to have an answer to almost any question. Being right or not is a whole other story… One bag was just a pink stripe with big polka dots, the other was a white and silver bag with a nice print to it. So I told her the silver one would look more expensive. Just because people tend to associate metallic colors with expense. She agreed with me…
Then there was one lady who kept bringing me tops and asking me what ones looked good on her. That one was the easiest seeing as all I had to do was look at the top and then look at her hair and skin tone. Either way she was very happy with my answers… I wonder if this was also because I watched those back to school fashion videos on youtube just for the lulz.
Now, having been proclaimed the king/queen of style, I have changed my methods of wardrobe selection. These days I do this ahead of time so I won’t have to worry about it:
I just randomly pick tops that will do the job, find a pair of pants to go with them, then fold them up and pick out the proper accessories to go with the outfits. Then when I wake up I just roll out of bed and pick whatever I have on top. Today I kept it simple with a Hawaiian shirt, Hawaiian jewelery, and black slacks.
You know if I weren’t hiding behind my characters I could do some fashion stuff for youtube to bring in some fappers. But that’s fucking boring.
I like being mysterious like that.
Early Morning Open Thread
Had some strange overcast yesterday while walking. Weather was nice otherwise. I even had a different meow friend say hi to me. I ran some errands and went for some vintage cherry soda and lemonade. Good stuff!
Been running some tests on my CS:GO server. For some reason whenever it leaves an arms race map the server seems to self terminate. Other modes seem to be alright though. I decided to play some new maps in CS:GO. I really hope that sv_downloadurl gets fixed at some point so that custom content maps can be downloaded properly. Oh well, they fixed sv_password so there’s hope I guess.
What a night.
Yesterday was hell. I’m not gonna lie… It was swamped from start to finish with people throwing clothes all over the place, leaving fitting rooms a mess, and the usual deliberate understaffing. Even lunch sucked today. I completely forgot my lunchbox so had to buy something, and the wifi at work was broken so I I had to settle for some offline gaming. On the bright side I did get some healthy fruits and vegetables for Thursday.
Hard to believe it’s already Friday.

Well, after having a couple days to rest I feel a hell of a lot better. Turns out it was just really bad allergies.

Early Morning Open Thread
Tonight I decided to make some velvet corn soup. Believe it or not it’s a Chinese recipe from one of my Time magazine cookbooks. You’d never even knew I made it because I ate the entire thing.
Played an assload of games tonight. Decided to play Max Payne 3 tonight for the first time. Fun and very different from the last 2 games while somehow still keeping some of the basic mechanics (although aiming I’ll have to get used to). Played a little bit of Black Mesa: Source, and some Serious Sam 3 multiplayer. Too many games and too little time. I literally have to write out a schedule to play all these games.
Speaking of games, one I’ve been thinking of playing is Slender. I’ve seen footage of it and don’t understand what’s so scary about it. Especially when you watch it like this:
It’s so awesomely funny that I added a new plugin that plays videos from all of the not youtube sites.
Killing Floor makes it to Steam Workshop
Yep, now people can submit their mods via steam for download. If you don’t know what Killing Floor is it’s basically the British version of Left 4 Dead (with other features), and you can have up to 6 people in your squad. The game is made by Tripwire interactive and it runs on the unreal engine.
To celebrate Killing Floor becoming part of Steam Workshop, Steam is having a sale on the game.
