The Mind Of OverlordTomala

Some people…

I was helping a customer tonight. Felt really sorry for her.

I had to go out to our bottle return area to help do a hand count since the machines were rejecting their cans (happens frequently). And as I walk out there I hear what would either be her husband or boyfriend yelling at her to “get in the fucking car” then calling her expletives like bitch and cunt. Upon seeing me he shut his hole for whatever reason (thank god). Felt really sorry for her. I made sure to be extra nice to her. I don’t care who you are. Man or woman that’s no way to be treated.

Support for realmyst for the iPad = Their OffTopic section.

So realmyst for the iPad is out. I haven’t played it myself because #1 I don’t have an iPad, iPod, iPon, whatever. And #2 I’d rather game on a computer. So I can’t really say if the game itself is good or bad (I’ll let people who purchased it be the judge) however support seems to be a tad flawed.

Then Veralun Verylooney posted this:

For now the Off Topic section will work. It is a good place to talk and to share your thoughts about the new device.
The Cyan World’s mobile device apps was locked to make the forum more focused on MystOnline and to make it more streamlined and manageable.
But we never know what future brings. If this project is successful, Cyan may consider to reopen the section 😉

Of course right before work I couldn’t help myself…

But a forum isn’t a place for dialogue.  😉

Saturday Morning Open Thread

Decided to work a bit on one of my video projects a bit. It’s a bit involved so I wasn’t fully in the mood. Took a break and played some TF2. Met a couple of n00bs on the server. They stuck around with us all the way till we decided to call it quits. All in all it was good fun.

Since the weather has been warming up I’ve started making more iced tea since I have to have my fix of it. Drinking some red pom with honey right now. Also decided to make some sandwich filling for a wrap to bring to work tomorrow. I’ve been getting into the nasty habit of buying whatever drink or snack that happens to be within easy reach, which all in all isn’t the best. So I’m going to plan ahead since I’ve found more time to think clearly. Bring some iced raspberry mate and a nice tuna mayo wrap to work, that should do me fine.

Valve hires a Economy errrrrr, Manconomy expert.

Because I love TF2 so much I figured I would write this up. Cross posted from SNews:

Not fooling. Valve has hired an economist. Yes, a REAL economist.

It was late at night in October of last year when the strange email arrived. In fact, I only read it by accident and did not delete it by some miracle of fate.

Before the Euro Crisis erupted in 2009, I was just another economics professor, minding my own little theoretical endeavours, writing obscure papers and esoteric books that only a few hundred nutcases around the world (like myself) would ever read, terribly satisfied in my very own academic cocoon. Back then, I would never even imagine not answering an incoming email.

Valve seems to be slightly concerned about a possible imbalance in the Mannconomy for Team Fortress 2. Either way this isn’t something you see everyday. Then again this is Valve we’re talking about.

More nerding out.

So instead of playing anything tonight or working on any videos I ended up playing around in dreamweaver with a template for the main site. Much better than before. Trellian was a nice start, but Dreamweaver is more like working with a pen. I like the feel of it better.

I still think the site looks a tad empty, but I’m sure I’ll add more later.
