The Mind Of OverlordTomala

It Is Done

After over 6 months of toying with it, this video is a done deal! Just need to come up with a thumbnail for the video, but I’m finally done! It’s a load off my chest AND my Hard Drive. Now I’ll have to see what my next visual victim will be! I might troll my hard drives tomorrow to see what the next project will be. Maybe something with slightly less animation? :v I might see if there’s anything good in the Serious Sam Footage Dept.

It’s All Starting To Add Up!

Downloaded the latest version of Shotcut. I figured it would be a good idea before getting too invested in the project. I’m slowly stitching it all together, and feeling all kinds of awesome at the timeline growing larger and larger with all my crazy keyframing all coming together into an act 6 months in the making from audio recorded a few years ago. I have four minutes of animation so far! It’ll be cool to see what the final number will be, not that I expect people to watch every minute of it (or just a few seconds). Those who do though? I hope they enjoy the ride.

Phase 1 Complete!

After half a year of animating this I can FINALLY say I’ve finished! Well, with the SFM portion anyway… Then I can figure out how to use Blender to do deliver some Special FX! Not sure if I’ll have time to try tomorrow, but I should be able to experiment over the weekend if needed. I’m just stoked to finally get to the end! I might have to go into SFM one more time to animate the intro, but that will be easy rendering compared to all the other shit I’ve been working on since the start of the year.

He’s Trying To Shave My Bushido

Another evening, another chapter finished! It’s starting to get a little tougher, but I finished the boss battle and only managed to die a couple times. This time I played on Desktop to enjoy some 4K Goodness. I did notice there is a small Nexus selection of mods for Trek to Yomi, might have to give a couple of them a go. Apparently this game has 3 different endings, so it might give me an excuse to spruce things up for a future replay.

I might have to give Chapter 3 a go tomorrow, might as well while I’m on a roll. I might actually be able to render the last bit of my SFM project tomorrow, and that’ll give me a bit of time to chill and do Samurai things. :v

Trekked Through The First Chapter

Finished the first chapter of Trek to Yomi! I was gifted this samurai sidescroller quite awhile ago, and it handles quite well! It does exercise the internal fans with its good graphics. The combat is pretty straight forward, light stabbing, heavy stabbing, parrying, etc. The game plays like an old Samurai movie, and even features Japanese voice acting! It makes me feel like I’m controlling an old movie, really cool.

Oh Look a Video!

I posted a small clip from BloodRayne 2 over on Mastodon if you want to check it out. I’ll probably do a full compilation at some point for YouTube, but for now I’ve decided to post shorts on Mastodon just to share and see what happens. 🙂 Speaking of videos I’m getting closer to the light at the end of the animation tunnel! I’m thinking just a couple more evenings and I’ll finally be able to render the end! More on that another time though… it’s time to chill on my Steam Deck and call it a night. It’s been a good weekend, but I need to get my stuff in order for tomorrow.

Today’s Sunday Drive Was Successful

IT RUNS!!! IT ACTUALLY RUNS!!! I mean, it’s a bit blurry in the distance if you run it in 4K but… IT RUNS!!! I had to uninstall it a long time ago when I switched from Intel to AMD, but it looks like they patched it at some point. Now hopefully there’s a future fix for the additional blur, and some random shadow glitching. It was nice to play it again at least.

Back To The Calamity

Bastion being welcomed by his sky fam.
When you’re here, you’re family.

Scrolled through my endless list of entertainment and decided to chill with some Bastion on Steam Deck! Apparently I’ve been away long enough that they threw me a small welcome back party!

Something Borked

I was tackling one of the Proving Grounds when it displayed this error. The .Net and Micrsoft XNA framework were enough to clue me in to the fact that it was defaulting to the Windows version, via Proton. Thankfully the native Linux build pulled through perfectly, and I was able to score 1st Place in one of the Proving Grounds.

This one was a real Mother to figure out. You have to destroy all of these targets, and if you want 1st Place you have to destroy all the targets with only 5 arrows. It was a pain in the ass, but eventually I nailed it! Now I’m giving my hand a break after attempting the Smashy Smashy Proving Grounds. I made 3rd and 2nd Place, but I can’t seem to smash 100 objects in under 27 seconds… perhaps if they were all watermelons I’d feel more inspired.
