Down The Wavy Corridors

It’s been a couple months, but I moved the plot along a bit in Control tonight. I started the Prime Candidate Program; only died a few times, and I learned a bit more about Jesse in the process. My next task is finding a way to rotate a large platform, that’s where I decided to call it a night. More photos can be found over at Mastodon.

This is one of those games that doesn’t seem to get much discussion at work whenever we decide to converse about after work activities. It’s mostly Nintendo games and Final Fantasy I usually hear about, maybe a few COD games from a couple of the dudebros. Although I do have one friend that’s really into the Remedy Cinematic Universe, we have a lot of fun talking about Control and other Remedy titles. He was too young to experience Max Payne, but I’ve shown him some vids. Even back in the early 2000’s Remedy knew how to make a bone chilling experience.

Unbound By Friendship

Alright! First game of the year finished! It took me a good few years to get around to finishing it, but I did it! All that’s left is to mine the achievements and secrets, but I definitely got more than my money’s worth out of it – especially since this was being given away for free. 😛 I’ve left my glowing review for it over at Steam.

Guess I’ll have to check out Trine 2 now! Well… not now, it’s late.

Read Any Good Books Lately?

We did a better job this time around of not dying and getting lost in the Underdark. We finished our fighting, and went topside to the Gnome Camp to take care of some unfinished business, messed around with different strategies, and maaaaaybe a little bit of reloading.

We played for a good couple of hours. Ended the night by actually ending the evening in game. Next time we go to play we’ll be rested and refreshed, just as our true weekend selves can be. 🙂

Fox On The Run

During the holidays I accumulated quite a few games, as is tradition! Some gifted, some bought. I saw a couple friends purchase Spirit of the North, a calm game where you play as a Fox wandering the landscapes of Iceland. You follow the spirit of the northern lights, and eventually become intertwined with her magic and energy. The visual quality is just as breathtaking as the calming musical score that follows you throughout your journey.

By using her powers you can open up new areas, and eventually gain more abilities from gaining a howl that can purify evil ragweed tendrils, and spiritual power that allows you to leave your body to explore places you normally couldn’t traverse.

I’ve decided to leave off on Chapter 4 for now. There wasn’t much to the game itself, but if you like to wander and take in beautiful scenery it’s definitely worth a play, if only to unwind. My only complaints so far are the inability to cloud save, and sometimes the controls show their clunkiness. But I’m already a couple hours again, and I know that I’ll be returning to it again sometime soon. 🙂

Silent Sunday: More Adventuring!

Now that I’ve figured out how to disable the UI I’ve been able to take some really decent photos! This game has so many beautiful sights to take in, and we’ve barely scratched the surface.

I helped a bard and was treated to a private concert. We also helped a child escape a few annoying harpies at the beach, and even attended Burning Man.

Of course it wasn’t ALL fun and games… in Baldur’s Gate 3, anyway. I did refine some animation today, and even played a little bit of Neon White for the first time in months. 😛 Mainly trying to Platinum a couple of levels I had Gold Rank on. I might actually finish that game at some point this year! 😛

On The Brave Path Again

I’ve been playing a lot of old school DOOM or an assortment of indie games recently, time to take a break to play something a little more modern. 😀 I completed a couple of side quests and made it to level 10! It’s been cold today, so this was a great way to warm the place and entertain myself a bit.

Yesterday’s Adventure, Tonight’s Post

Dust discovers a friendo.

Made it to 80% yesterday! Rescued a friend, found another chest and collected some more keys. I would have played a little more tonight, but it’s been one of those days where I find myself busy from before dawn to after moonrise. I’ll make up for it tomorrow by making time to play something completely different.

In Control Of My Own Sunday

It’s been awhile since I last touched Control – long enough that I decided to start over again from the beginning. It gives me an excuse to make a proper config for my gaming keyboard, and to appreciate the 4K experience!

Dressing for the job.

I even decided to follow instructions on the PCGamingWiki to get the Playstation DLC via a hex editor. The instructions were pretty straight forward. I might check out some of the retexture mods at the Modders Nexus next time I decide to play. It could help add a little flair to my Photo Mode barrage. 😛

MY PRECIOUS!!!!!

I re-obtained the Floppy of Telekinesis before calling it a night. I think I’m fully refreshed on how to play again, and I even left notes for my future self to make sure I don’t get lost a second time. It’s one of the unfortunate side effects of traveling in between game universes, sometimes you forget a few things.

Gloom and Bloom

The lack of sunlight today made me crave some Kena: Bridge of Spirits. I made it to the ruins, cleaned a shrine, won a couple skirmishes, and purified part of the land. Even managed to kill three monsters with an arrow! The small, colorful escape was needed after a week of what felt like grey.

The passing of one friend, and trying to ease the depression of another friend and not knowing what to do have been on my mind all week. After some fun and rest I can recollect myself for a weekend of recovery. I have all kinds of plans ahead of me? What ones? ALL OF THEM. Need to get started on the holiday related bullshit for friends and fam.
