Remaining On Target For October

I don’t want to break my arm to pat my own back, but… I got a lot done with the video today! I got the SFM  animations finished, and I’ve got everything in place for some work in After Effects tomorrow. After that comes assembly, and of course scheduling a time to record voice lines. I will need to go back into SFM to re-render something with a greenscreen, but that won’t take too long… or at least it shouldn’t. I’m still kind of surprised that I’ve moved through this so quickly. Rendered two things, compiled them in Shotcut, and ready to process in After Effects. It’s amazing what a little practice can do!

Meanwhile: Aboard The Tomala TARDIS

I’m thinking I’ll have another video complete to go by tomorrow evening… for October. 😛 I did a lot of rendering and compositing tonight; tomorrow I’ll focus on assembling for one final export… until I start on the production of Bayonetta Part 3. 😛

Bringing My Nightmares To Life One Frame At A Time

Finished rendering this just a bit ago. Tomorrow I’ll start animating one more scene, and then I can finally look at wrapping this project up! … or at least Part 1. 😛 The last bit of animation will probably take me a few weeks to complete, then maybe I can take a break and work on a sideproject before continuing onto the next Bayonetta vid.

Another Creative Evening

I made some progress on the current video project, there was even a couple renders! I’ll move them over into After Effects tomorrow night, and maybe another small round of voice lines for ending the scene. Depending on how my hand feels I may even attempt a livestream, or at least playing a game this weekend. I haven’t played anything since last weekend. I haven’t even been taking my gaming laptop to work, too damn heavy when in my backpack with my other swag. I’ve mainly been reading websites and articles on my Linux Surface at work, and posting memes in a couple Discords. You know, the simple things. 😛

Meanwhile, in After Effects

u w0t m8?

I’m almost done animating the hologram/codec call in AE. I just have some other tweaks to perform to it, possibly add another layer on top of a couple of points, then I’ll have something to render. I’ve forgotten how fun it is to play around in After Effects. It makes me wish there was something available in Open Source software…

I’ll have to sit down one of these evenings to see if there is something that could give AE a run for its money. I never use Premiere Pro anymore, and Photoshop is getting less use thanks to Krita. The less Adobe I use the less I have to use Windows. 😛

I Can Finally Share Something

You wouldn’t know this was for a Bayonetta livestream recap… or wtf is even going on

I did some re-rendering in Shotcut today to pre-render certain elements into the hologram (text and some other filters) to save time and resources while working in AE. I’ll continue work on it in a day or two…

It’s been a long day, and I’m in need of a little R&R.

Stage 3 Is Go!

I had to re-render those scenes from last night due to using an incorrect framerate, so my time in After Effects was a little limited this evening. I did get things prepped in After Effects though, so there is that. As much as I would like to share a picture it’s still a little too barebones for me to want to share it just yet, and I still need to get used to using it again. It’s been a long time since I’ve had to use anything from Adobe… it feels weird.

That Was Quick

Stage 2 of the project is done! I’ve rendered my work from yesterday, compiled it in Shotcut, and tomorrow I’ll play with it a bit more in Shotcut and probably After Effects, maybe even Krita if I can squeeze it in. It’ll be something to look forward to tomorrow after a long day of tolerating the intolerant.

Today’s Adventures in Breaking My Computer

I played around with Linux today with not much luck. I have a few other things I’d like to try (such as the Manjaro Architect Setup), but decided to study up on Natron a bit for a future project. Unfortunately it doesn’t quite have the effect I’m looking for, so an install of After Effects CS6 is inevitable, and in a way it kinda makes sense using it alongside SFM given they’re both ancient programs at this point. 😛 I was going to experiment in a bit tomorrow to remind myself how to use it, it’s been awhile. 😛 I was also going to upload my new YouTube banner, but found that YouTube is kind of a bag of dicks at properly applying it even when I follow the specified resolution recommendations, meaning it has been shelved until I’m less pissed off to work on it again.

I’ve also been doing some research on tablet PC’s. I’m revisiting the idea of buying a tablet to put Linux on it, and my desire is increasing with every annoying update on my Fire HD8. So far the most popular tablets for Linux are oddly Microsoft Surfaces, and if I were to consider that route I’d have to go with a Pro series; Fuck the Surface RT.

I ended the evening with a little bit of MGSV:TPP. Trying to do the Over The Fence mission, and I keep having to restart from a checkpoint after getting caught. I completed that mission before on an old save, but it’s looking like my head is a little rusty from my previous adventures.
