Keeper Of The Shovel

I haven’t posted much about it, but I’ve been animating away every night! Bit by bit I’ve been bouncing between two different projects, and tonight one of them finally won! I completed all of the animation, just need to do the final exports! Then I can begin on stitching it all together. If all goes according to plan I’ll release it next week! w00t!

This One Time, At Pod Camp

I recently went through a five hour Skyrim livestream, and I harvested about 30 minutes of fun from it… some of it worthy of animation! There will be at least two or three videos coming from it. At least one of them being 100% animation! Maybe it’ll make up for the massive influx of pure gameplay video I’ve been pushing out! 😛 That said, there will be a couple of those next month. Maybe they’ll give me time to get this polished and ready. If not, it can be expected to debut in early January, hopefully with more content if I’m lucky. 😛

IT BEGINS!!! (Again)

Back to working on a familiar scene! We’re back in the digital living room, finishing a game that has long sat in our library for many a year. So far I’ve got about 6 seconds of animation going in this clip, with many more to follow! Unfortunately there’s not much more to say on it now, other than I’m off to a good start. I’m going to give myself until late December to finish it, though I should be done with it way before then.

I did make sure to take my one hour of game break before calling it a night, and since I’ve been doing a good job of getting through footage and games I’ve started yet another new adventure! Last winter a good friend of mine from work gave me a copy of High On Life for Christmas, and now I finally got around to playing it! I won’t say much for now, as a game of this caliber is more deserving of its own post, not bad for only an hour’s worth of content!

Phase 1 Complete!

After half a year of animating this I can FINALLY say I’ve finished! Well, with the SFM portion anyway… Then I can figure out how to use Blender to do deliver some Special FX! Not sure if I’ll have time to try tomorrow, but I should be able to experiment over the weekend if needed. I’m just stoked to finally get to the end! I might have to go into SFM one more time to animate the intro, but that will be easy rendering compared to all the other shit I’ve been working on since the start of the year.

SFM Diaries: All The World Is A Stage Is A Boat

It will be quite awhile before my next video sees the light of day, but what I’m putting in a lot of ideas to hopefully make something half way watchable. As a normal GMod video I don’t see it amounting to much, but recreating it in SFM and taking a liberty or two could spice things up a bit!

Something in the next scene is going to catch my eye… I wonder what it’ll be?

Fus Ro Greenscreen!

I didn’t get much done in the way of animation tonight; It was mostly spent posing and adding on accessories to our characters. I’ll probably begin animating it tomorrow. This project will probably take me awhile to finish, and probably won’t see release until next month at the very latest.

I’m thinking once I reach September I’ll try and look through the video lineup I have for December. If possible I’d like to try and finish some Left 4 Dead videos revolving around a winter campaign. I left off with two videos done, and one in progress with one more to follow. It’ll be fun seeing if I remember anything from where I stopped, heh.

Late Night Open Thread

I don’t have much to write. Just enjoying some green chai and eggnog, all the while working on some animation. I still have a bit to go, but next December’s videos are coming along quite nicely! I’m working on the third installment currently, and there will probably be a fourth. I’m actually moving along at a decent rhythm. I’ll probably be done with this particular saga by the end of the year, just in time to start on another project(s)! I’m planning to return to working on the Amnesia one, which is appropriate because I forgot where I left off on that particular one! Fortunately, I kept notes before moving onto the more wintery stuffs.

Planning Ahead

I’ll have at least one more video to release in December. That will make a total of six videos for the entire year, last year it was only three! After December I probably won’t be releasing anything for awhile — I want to tackle some videos that could be perfect for seasonal reasons, and if I give myself some time and room to work it could turn out to be quite the ride! I’d like to release what I’m currently working on by next month, but with what I want to put into it I don’t think I would make it by the holiday. Of course, this just means that I’ll have plenty of time to get it all prepped for the next season! I already wrote an intro, now I just need to extract the animation audio, build the scenes, and it’ll be ret-2-go!

Now, to rest and hopefully do a little more tomorrow.

Inside The Overlord’s Studio: Prepping For Part 3

Chopped up more video footage in preparations to start on the next video project. In game footage alone I have a little over three and a half minutes, and 46 seconds of it being animated. I also plan to have an animated ending to accompany it. I can hash out the story with a friend while I get started on animating dialogue from the livestream itself. I didn’t have much time today, and tomorrow I’ll be busy with some errands. Probably won’t really be able to dig into it for another day or two.

I don’t think I’ll be able to make October with this one; a much needed vacation is a couple weeks away, and I’ll be doing a lot of travel faaaaaar away from home. I’m in dire need of a break, and a good cure seems to be going to Yellowstone with my camera to take some sweet pics! If I do end up releasing anything it probably won’t even be until near the end of the year, or until I need to stop in favour of another video in need of finishing. I have a two weeks to get as much out of the way as possible, and depending on what I achieve I’ll either continue on the project, or start on the one I have planned for December.
