I’m not sure if I’m really good or if everyone else is really terrible

Yes… I’m one of those weird people that can fit every single game on their computer.

I’m running the latest Steam Client beta, and if you haven’t heard they’re beta testing an all new design to get with modern times. One of the things I do like about it is the additional stats on each game page in the library. I was glancing at the new achievements and couldn’t help but notice the percentage of players that got said achievements. They’re much lower than I would expect… I mean how many people actually bought this with the intention of playing it? Or did that many people give up on it due to the difficulty curve?  I mean, while I might be getting my ass handed to me around every other corner I am at the very least continuing to progress through the game. So this is kind of interesting to me given that the PC port was released back in 2017, one would think more would have finished it.

Or maybe some of Bayonetta’s moves were a little too much for people. I have to admit I’m still getting used to killing people with magic Umbra Witch Magical Body Hair. It just isn’t something I see everyday in video games. :zorak:

Saturday Night Open Thread

I’ve been meaning to send some birthday presents off for a couple of you, but between work and ailments (and a vacation) I haven’t had a chance to send a couple packages out. This seems to be my problem every year… I always get the gifts way ahead of time, but when it comes to actually shipping them it almost always seems like I hit a snag. If everything goes well I’ll ship them off Monday or Tuesday. Maybe I’ll do better at Christmas time if the Black Friday anxiety doesn’t entirely consume my psyche.

Between some BS at work, some stress caused by a new computer customer, and ongoing issues trying to get my webhost to get my mumble server back up and running just to name a few items… I haven’t been in the best of moods lately. I don’t think I’ll be doing much tomorrow apart from maybe yell at my webhost again about another issue that I don’t even feel like going into detail right now, as it’s so ridiculous that if I talk to them right now I’ll probably end up verbally severing their head. I’ll wait until tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll be calm enough by then to talk to someone and resist the urge to randomly yell about lamb sauce.

I played more Bayonetta this evening, figured I’d kick off the weekend and relax by playing a game that often kicks my ass. I’ve been having issues taking screenshots of the game, might have to see if there’s a fix or something in my spare time. That game is all kinds of Japanese weirdness, perhaps if I can master it I’ll livestream the game. I’m too terrible at it right now to want to do a public shaming of myself, there are other excellent game candidates to choose from! I did manage to get a couple achievements, as well as unlock a couple new abilities. I can now take the form of a wildcat to sprint or a crow to fly.

I hope everyone else is having a good weekend. :melon:

Steam Play Test Results 8/24/18 PLATINUM EDITION

Oddly this all started when I tried to test Bayonetta via Steam Play, here are the results of that and some others:

  1. Bayonetta: Played perfectly fine until I quit and tried to restart, the window became unresponsive.
  2. NieR Automata: Despite being whitelisted by Steam this title will only load itself into memory and does fuck all on my distro.
  3. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance: Almost perfect, with only a couple glitches like small bits of lag and lights appearing through solid objects and people (including me). Is actually running on a hacked executable to run at 1440p as well as some graphical modding. Can restart the game multiple times and it won’t puss out like Bayonetta. No I’m not picking up any Nirnroot for you.
  4. Okami HD: Loaded a window, but it was nothing but a short lived world of graphical terror that would eventually collapse into itself, not even Amaterasu could save this poor world…

So out of all of those games I could only get MGR to work, that would be my fucking luck… :melon:

The gift was a success

Awhile back I mentioned a conversation I had with a co-worker that ended up leading to me creating the above picture. I had it printed out as an 8×10 photo and framed it, then I wrapped it and hid it in our stockroom for him to find. Needless to say he had a good laugh, in fact I was surprised he didn’t fall on the floor. I think it sent some good vibes, we both had a relatively good day. Now I just need to hope he doesn’t attempt giftvengeance. :zorak:  That’s a word now, I’ve decided. :v:

Other than that I’ve taken to cleaning my bedding so that I can just relax for the weekend. I’m tired enough that I should be careful to not sleep through to Tuesday… I’ve been fighting my eyes with toothpicks for hours now. I think I’m only operating on 4 hours of sleep? I’m surprised I can even type right now. It almost feels like I’m typing this without thinking, like I could be president or something. :morty:

Boss… harder!

Today I told my fellow co-worker about my exploits through MGSV, and I mentioned how funny it was to practice CQC on your staff and see the following dialogue:

Then he had to tell me that of course they were happy to be manhandled by Big Boss, and that he’d even love to be in the same position. Mind you, the guy I’m talking to is practically a male clone of Bayonetta. Add onto that my bizarre imagination and access to a computer and you get this:

I’m not kidding, he has a similar hairstyle. Another one of my co-workers and I keep trying to convince him to wear high heels for us and he keeps refusing. Not because he doesn’t want to, he just can’t walk in them. :v:

Every time I work with him it’s another adventure. I almost feel like making illustrations of our encounters… :melon:

Playing around a bit with Street Fighter X Tekken

Today I decided to tear into Street Fighter X Tekken. Had a bit of a rough start though, for whatever reason the game needed GFWL to function and the version it installed was borked. Fortunately someone had a solution involving XLive.dll. Adding that to the root directory of the game fixed it without having to install a newer version of GFWL, which is perfectly fine with me since I try to keep as little cancer on my systems as possible.

Anyways I modded the hell out of the game. There are quite a few model/costume replacements you can download for it, here are some of my selections:

Peace out!

There are many many more model replacements I can (and plan to) download, including Solid Snake, The Joker, Col Sanders, Princess Peach, etc etc etc. I’d have more to showcase but some of the download servers they’re kept on limit you to 1 download per 180 minutes unless you use their pay service… :S I can afford to wait. I plan to move this to the HTPC so I can play it on the couch. I’d stream it but I’ve been having issues with that between the desktop and the HTPC lately, which is odd considering my laptop and desktop can see each other, and the laptop and HTPC can see each other, but getting the desktop and HTPC to talk to each other results in epic fail… Oh well, it’s not like this game leaves a huge footprint or anything.
