The Path Of Shart

Last weekend we didn’t play Baldur’s Gate 3, but we made up for it a bit tonight by making our way through Shar’s Trials. I got some good footage! We’ll see how long it takes before getting around to it. I’m recording in HDR, and the software that I use doesn’t support it yet. I’ll either have to convert the videos to SDR manually, or wait for support. Either way I have plenty to keep me busy while waiting for implementation. More games to play, more projects for me to go back and forth between.

Sunday Of Play

Today was one of those days where I couldn’t settle on just one game. Began by getting one final achievement in AMID EVIL, freeing up a few gigs for my gaming library, unlocked a new ship in Whisker Squadron Survivor, played a bit of Neo Cab on my Steam Deck, and then inevitably ended the evening with BG3.

We rescued Minthara and made Astarion read a pretty yet evil book, and made a small child whole again… hopefully. Other than that we did typical adventuring and looted all of the things. It’s a good note to end the evening on.

Lost In Shadows

We went about our usual Sunday adventures in Baldur’s Gate 3. We’re still adventuring the Shadow Cursed lands, but we’ve managed to survive some fights, and an annoying demonic child and his parents, or what was left of them. We also rescued a missing child with the help of Halsin, a brave Druid. Or at least the physical properties of a child… the Shadow Curse has a good hold on him, will probably look further into that next weekend.

It’s been fun not having to stress about anything for a week. I have one more day of it before I have to return to reality and chaos, trying not to think too much about it until tomorrow. Tonight is my last night of full enjoyment, gotta make it count. As it is I’ve been having fun tying up a couple loose ends, playing games longer than an hour, late nights reading and partaking of tea and snax, sharing a meal with a friend, etc.

One Hell Of A Butt Plug

We finally managed to escape The Creche! But not without seizing the sun, or in this case, a weapon that looks the part. I had fun disarming the traps to get to it, in a good way. My lockpicking skills have pretty much ascended Astarion’s at this point.

Beware The Easter Githyanki Eggs

Happy Easter, and Happy Trans Visibility Day! Or it was… it’s evening now at the time of writing this. Still, a perfect reason to play Baldur’s Gate 3! I mean you do find eggs in the game, sometimes… and we’re both currently playing as Trans characters, so maybe every weekend is Trans-Easter? I just confused myself…

There were many surprises waiting for us in the Creche. We spoke to a Queen that betrayed us and fought many Githyanki. Next time we play we’ll have to find some Ceremonial Artifacts, and probably battle more Githyanki in the process.

Fun & Fantasy

Sunday is always my recharge day, and I needed it. An orange kitty made sure I got plenty of rest, and I treated myself to a breakfast bowl with ingredients from last night’s dinner. We had our usual weekend BG3 sesh! We defeated a Witchy Biznitch and are currently making our way to a monastery. We fought some explosives drunks and demon cats along the way.

I also made time to do a little bit of animating this afternoon. I haven’t touched SFM for about a week, needed to scratch that animators itch. It’ll still be awhile, but I think I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on this one… maybe after another week or two. I’m planning to release it next month, so no rush. I might even put in a little more time before calling it a night. The more I pour into it, the less I’ll have to do later.

The Cozy Gaming Weekend Continueth

Another rainy day where I play more than one game! I finished another Chapter in Control, and learned more about the projector and Jesse’s backstory. During my travels I found a couple jukebox tokens. Next tine I might try the challenges again, in the meantime the Underdark called me back into its void.

Last night I forged some badass armor, and tonight Yutram found some lightning robes that work well with my character. I gave the mushrooms some head (Nere’s) and collected a few fancy titles that will probably never be used on me again. They even threw me a psychedelic dance party.

It was a fun couple hours of adventure. Between yesterday and tonight I think I’ve had my fix until the next weekend. Today was perfect day to play, mostly because we had electricity. We lost power for a couple hours this morning – fortunately for me I slept through most of it. The wind was bad enough that it did wake me up a few times. Everything was up and running though once I came to life. Even did some video work! More details on that at a later date. Today was more of a chillax kind of day. Might do something a bit more productive tomorrow.

Chill Weekend Open Thread

Kicking the weekend off proper with more BG3. Finally killed the Forge Boss, and officially made a new friend at our camp!

It wasn’t entirely an evening for BG3. I made time for Whisker Squadron Survivor, haven’t checked on it in ages and they’ve made a LOT of changes since my last visit. They added a boss battle in Zone 5 on any map, unavoidable cursed choices and challenges. I’ve already completed all the easy ones, one hard, and I think one medium… Oddly enough the medium challenges are harder than the one hard challenge I unlocked.

Crossing A River Of Glitches

We had fun trying to get through the river of darkness with six characters. Last night when we made my companions glitch out of existence. They were still alive, but they were invisible and immovable. When I summoned the boat it did the same thing to my friend’s companions. We ended up sending two of them back to camp, made our way across in the boat, and then regrouped afterwards. Other than that little snag it’s been fun playing with a party of six.

We called it a night after biting it in a battle we had no chance of winning. This is where our heroes will rest until the next upcoming weekend. It’s back to cycling other games to keep things fresh. I was actually thinking of doing a theme this month for my gaming posts. Since it’s Women’s History Month I’m thinking of prioritizing my playtime for games where there is either a female character, or games that grant the option to play as whatever you want. Baldur’s Gate 3 is pretty versatile in that regard, and it also gives me an excuse to binge the Tomb Raider Remaster if I so choose. 😛 She was the first woman I ever played in a video game, so it’s only right I give her some screentime. Of course, more lady protaganists have appeared since the 90’s! So you can guess that I’ll be covering them also!

Back To Baldurin’

It’s been an eternity since we last played Baldur’s Gate 3, or two weeks… same thing.

We had issues for a couple weeks figuring out how to get mods working, and then once we got it figured out a patch broke the script extender used to play with mods. But eventually it all got ironed out in time for my weekend! So Yutram and I went down down down by the river for a few fun hours of adventure. It was fun as much as it was buggy. By default you can play with a party of up to 4, but thanks to modding we up’d the count to 6. It makes fighting slightly more chaotic, and tonight we learned that sometimes when initiating a cutscene it will leave two of your party members behind and render them unusable. We ended up having to backtrack to a slightly older autosave, we didn’t lose MUCH progress, but it was enough for us to call it a night.

Despite the bugs I did level up my character to lvl 6 and earned a couple achievements. We’re planning to go Balduring again tomorrow if everything lines up. It was soooo nice to finally be able to play together again!
