Evening Open Thread

Not really feeling it tonight. I came home from work feeling on the slight opposite of good, and I have a bad feeling it will pour over into tomorrow. Gaming just didn’t sound good tonight, even titles that wouldn’t cause motion sickness had to be left on the table. Instead I focused on videos for next month and a New Year’s video for December. Just going through the footage, any other ideas will have to wait for a day when I’m in less pain. Time to sip some tea, read for awhile, and maybe work on something computer related before bed.

All Work and Maaaayyyybbbeeeee a Little Play…

Alas; not all the gifts I’m waiting for arrived today, but receiving some is better than none. I wrapped what I have on hand, so when the stragglers do show up I can just wrap a few things up and send it all off! Also finished up more dusting and tidying today, and even had a chance to do a little animating! I even played a little bit of Neon White!

I already have next weekend planned out: Lots of baking. I’m going to make my cranberry nut muffins for some co-worker friends of mine! I seem to need to make more each year, so I’ll be baking a lot this coming weekend! Perhaps in more ways than one. 😛

Sunday Cleaning Thread

Did a looooooooot of cleaning today! I managed to clear off my desk, dust it along with some of the other furniture. Finally found an arrangement on the desk that I really like, might even take a picture tomorrow if I can find the time! Also cleared out a bunch of old junk, will probably do more cleaning tomorrow. I’m still waiting on some gifts to come in, but I’ll probably start wrapping the ones that are already here tomorrow. If I’m lucky the rest of them will show up in the afternoon.

Other than that I’ve been beating people up in Yakuza 0 tonight, and maaaayyyybeeee a little bit of pool and karaoke. Seemed like a decent reward to myself after a long day of evicting dust and clutter. It’s good to take out a little aggression before bed anyways. 😛

Sunday Work & Play

I spent today doing some physical and digital housekeeping. My videos now mostly fit on just two hard drives! I compiled two small Shantae videos for next month! I didn’t mean to — it just sort of happened when going through the footage.

Of course, there was a little time left at the end of the evening to play a little bit of Yakuza 0. I even found a quest that I missed the first time around! It involved protecting Miracle Johnson aka Michael Jackson from “zombies”. Somehow I get the feeling that I’ll be seeing him again sometime in the not too distant future.

Sunday Demon Slaying… and Other Stuff.

I’ve spent the better part of my weekend slaying demons, like I do on most weekends. Yesterday I progressed a bit in DOOM Eternal, and today I also progressed more into Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night. It’s been another gray weekend, and the spooky vibe just seems right.

Aside from gaming, I’ve also accomplished in going through about one quarter of my closet. I re-organized my pants collection and pulled aside some garments that need repair/love. Sewing a button and turning some of my jeans into shorts is on the future to do list. I already cut up one pair, and now I’m contemplating if I want to personalize them or leave them plain… the material is thin enough that I’m uncertain if it would be worth it or not. I’ve also been contemplating decking out one of my jean jackets; perhaps add some patches to them to make my own style. It’s been awhile since I’ve done anything creative with my clothes.

Aaaaaaannnnddd Done

I’m officially free from Jury Duty! I only had to go once, and it was for about an hour before we were all excused. Now I won’t have to worry about doing it again for who knows how long. 😛 I’ve been summoned and excused a few times before, but this was my first time serving. The funniest part was that it all didn’t happen because Karen couldn’t be bothered to fucking show up. The judge and attorneys for both sides were piiiiissssssseeeeeedddddd.

Oh well… at least I can say that I went to court stoned, and I wasn’t even the one on trial! 😛

What The Aroma Of Tranquility Smells Like

During my work nights I’ve been lighting candles, especially on cold nights. It provides a nice warm ambient light and a scent to delight dreams. As an added bonus: When I wake up in the morning the light is soft enough on the early morning eye.

I’ve been trying to do small things for myself to help ease stress. I made some miso ramen on the stove today while doing some after work tidying, and currently enjoying some hot cocoa before bed while being accompanied by the alluring scent of watermelon. Last night it was successful in ensnaring me in a peaceful watermelon patch filled dream. I just hope that if I dream again tonight, that I don’t accidentally collect a tree this time. You have no idea how much that can affect one’s carryweight.

Attempting To Solve Practical Problems

Ran into an issue with the TF2/L4D1 & L4D2 VM and had to do a reinstall. I’ll setup the Samba share tomorrow, and I’ll transfer over some older dependencies to see if that fixes the issue. I took a break from it to setup my next scene in SFM, nothing worth posting though.

But now comes time to rest, so that I may practice my Sourcery another day.
