Returning To Dank Souls

I wanted to get back into Dark Souls, didn’t get very far the last time I played… and tonight it wasn’t that much different, definitely not from a lack of trying tho. My previous character was a little fuckey, so I ended up having to begin with a fresh character.

I kept getting my ass handed to me by these Karen ghosts. Every time I tried running this path I did make it further each time, but I’ll probably have to watch a video on how to get past these ghostly bitches.

Right, this happened.

I did discover another path this time, and I actually made it to another bonfire! Next time I return to the game it’ll be nice to explore some newer terrirory, and hopefully I’ll actually be able to progress further… and possibly avoid all of the Karens.

That’s Quite The Operation…

I decided to test Dark Souls Remastered to see if it would run under Linux and when I went to make a female warrior this was the default result… I’m not sure if I want this to be its own character or not now. I mean she looks horrifying enough to take on any Hollow. I named her “wtf”.

Some Dank Souls

I kept trying to draw on the tree to paint it until I realized I was in the wrong game

Played a bit of Sekiro for awhile, until I got annoyed with the giant snake (didn’t take too long), so I opted to frustrate myself in Remastered Dark Souls, and I managed to progress past the first boss quite easily surprisingly… I just needed to leap on it then keep chopping away at its ass until I stole his keys and went outside to play with a giant crow.

Bird’s The Word

I’ve arrived Firelink Shrine, and I keep getting my ass handed to me by two asshat skeletons. I’ll come back to them another time, at least I made it past the new boss and into some new territory. I would have worked on some video stuff but didn’t feel too hot after work today (or even during for that matter). I had to really push myself to make my yogurt cup for tomorrow. Unfortunately I couldn’t take a picture, but it’s a nice matcha blueberry parfait with almonds, white chocolate and some berry granola. I’m really looking forward to having it tomorrow, mixing the matcha powder with the yogurt gives it a nice earthy flavor. My strawberry and peanut yogurt parfait was still nice though, kinda reminded me of a PB&J sandwich without the bread thanks to the honey roasted peanuts. They softened in the yogurt and had a nice peanut buttery texture when mixed up with the yogurt.

Now for more of that healing sideways meditation.

Tea, Games, Data Blah Blah Blah

I started off the day with another good breakfast, this time I made a breakfast wrap with some bacon, egg and some red pepper and chili sauce. This time I experimented with a wheat flour and quinoa wrap. I have to admit that I do like the texture. Also had some Greek yogurt on the side and a spot of pureh to kick off the morning. Got some digital housekeeping done, and even had time to do a little bit of animation and scene prep.

Oh god it burns!

I’ll pick back up on animating tomorrow.  I also played a bit with Vortex this afternoon, but not really enough to know if I like it or not. I was interested in playing Dark Souls Remastered, and from what I can tell it only supports the original. I can’t remember if Nexus Mod Manager supports Remastered or not, but I’ll have to either find an older installer or see if a newer version than the one I currently have is still up for download. If I remember correctly it does. In the meantime I’ve played a bit of Dark Souls Remastered, and it was a bit rough at first… not really so much the gameplay mechanics as trying to get the damned HUD to appear was a nightmare. After I finally figured that out it wasn’t too hard to configure my controller and begin my killing spree in the usual way.

Why does this keep happening to me???

Much like Sekiro I can tell there will be a learning curve that I will need to traverse. Though thanks to my short time in Sekiro I already have a good idea of what buttons to press when engaging an enemy. I’ve also installed other armors for equipping down the line, and plan to possibly install some texture mods and different weapon models if I can find them. If it’s one thing I like to do is make my own adventure.

Not sure if I’ll pick up on it again tomorrow or not. I’d like to try and finish the next video if I don’t immediately pass out after work.
