Taking it easy

I ended up taking it easy today. I think I might be developing my annual bronchitis. I started feeling strange just before mother’s day when I was exposed to lilies at work for a long period of time, and the chemicals tend to make me sick. I was actually worried that I’d be getting an ear infection as that has happened in the past, but so far I’ve just been dealing with a sore throat. Which I have proceeded to cram as much ginger, citrus and honey down as possible. That and Ricola cough drops…

Aside from that I had my hair appointment today, and I’ve gotten the reboot of the main slacker’s website back up and running as an anti-social network of sorts. A place where people can go and post statuses, pictures etc. Check it out and join if you want.

I will continue to make changes to it, but for the time being I figured it would be a nice basic setup. I’m still not going to setup a forum as there doesn’t seem to be much of a call for one. I’ve been hanging around in other groups, watching them try to put together forums. They make valiant efforts putting them together and getting the word out to join, but the forum scene seems to have died off unless you’re either part of a large gaming community or a niche website with a lot of traffic. Community guild/clan forums aren’t what they used to be, which is kinda sad.

I’d much rather use forums than use facebook, teh google plus, etc etc… That and with chat and VoIP programs it also kinda leaves forums in the dust… although it would make it more awkward for community newcomers compared to just joining a forum. Then again some of today’s people with their smartphones don’t even know how to use forums. Which is evident by what I’ve seen on certain forums recently, notably on Steam forums and even the Cyan forums.

realMyst finally gets support forums!

Well, it looks like Cyan has finally realised that easy to access support is a prerequisite of success rather than an eventual result of it, and has reopened its iOS and other mobile devices forums, as the “Cyan World’s Other Games” forums.

‘Bout bloody time, I’d say.

Prior to this, it was suggested by Cyan’s forum moderators that iOS users should post their support queries in the “Off Topic” section of the forums, and that only if realMyst for iPad was successful would they consider opening a section for those users to get support.

Welp, good to see Cyan has listened to the fans, at least once in their existence. 😉
